Hey all'so my friends the next part is here'I know I took a while to update but life is'just too busy..

Part 4: some things are just meant to be

Meera picked up the phone without even looking at the display. She knew it was Dev. She waited a whole week to talk to him. God, she has missed his voice so much. She said hello as she gave geet a hug and rushed out.

"Hi Meera..how are u baby ?"

Meera walked towards the Khurana garden and said, "I am good . and you ?"

"I am good. How was the engagement party?"

"The enagagemnet party was really fun. Maan and Geet looked so happy together..and there was lots of dance and bhangra. And guess what "? She continued without waiting for him to guess. "Pinky and Adi are dating and they are planning to get enagaged soon."

Dev was pleasantly surprised, "really..wow. tht's really gud news. I am so happy to know everyone is happy."

Meera sighed and replied, "yes, everyone is happy."

Dev detected the sorrow in Meera's voice, "except you that is".

Meera tried really hard to be cheerful," no of course not, I am happy. It's just that..." 'she trailed off

Dev questioned, " that ?"

"That I really miss you.I missed you during the engagement party when everyone else seem to be with the one they love. And I miss you every damn day. I am trying but I miss you so much, she confessed as she had fresh tears in her eyes.

Dev was speechless by her expression of her love. He knew she loved him even when he deserved no one and went on to tell her just that, "Meera, I am so sorry. I know i don't deserve your love. Forget love, I don't deserve anything."

Meera wiped her tears angrily, "why do you always make it seem like I am doing you a favour by being in love with you? I want to be in love with you. I had a choice when I accepted you with your past because I want to be your future. Don't it make it seem like you forced me to be with you."

Dev knew he was in trouble so he tried to console her, "Baby, I don't make it seem like you are doing me a favour. I know that it's hard..because I miss you as much u do."

Meera tried to be strong for Dev. She held a rose in her hand played with the soft petals as she replied with a smile. "It's okay. We will get through this difficult time. We already have been through so much. We are going to be together soon. I can wait. Trust me, I can." She hoped she convinced him even when she struggled to convince herself with the wait time.

Dev felt himself break into laughter and said, "Are you trying to convince yourself or me ?"

Meera broke off the fake smile she had pastered on for herself because it would help convince herself and sadly admitted, "both..i guess."

Dev sighed, "I know, I wish time would fly by and I could hold u in my arms again, smell ur fruity scent , kiss those soft lips and----"

Meera blushed a cherry red and cut him off, "Well I am coming to see you next week and we will see if we can accomplish the first two of the list but the third one..umm..tht I am not sure about."

Dev knew Meera was blushing by now and teased, "you know that I don't need to see you in order to know how you look right now..are u blushing meera?"..he continued as he knew she was never going to answer that..so he asked another question which he did want an answer to. "So you don't want to kiss me ?"

"Umm..actually'I have to go."

"No Meera, why are you hanging up ?"

Meera smiled, "because I know that time is going to up soon and I want to have a chance to properly say goodbye."

Dev arched his eyebrows and questioned "and what way would that be my dear ?"

Meera hesitated but yet brought her cell slowly closer to her lips, smiled and planted a kiss on it for him to hear and whispered,"I love you Dev, I love you very much."

Dev sighed in longing, " I love u too baby and I miss you."

"I am coming next week: remember."

Meera and Dev both sighed as they knew it was time to say goodbye but they didn't want to let each other go.

Dev tried to enlighten them and smiled, "ok..i will see u next week baby..bye"

Meera also tried her best to smile, "bye Dev"

They both hang up. Meera sat there and closed her eyes in desperation and finally let out the tears she had been fighting since Dev called. She loved him..god..she knew loved him like crazy..that's why she had accepted him despite the past he carried. She had done it more for herself than him. But when she had said she would wait, she hadn't know the wait was going to be so painful. But she had to tell herself..Distance makes the heart grow fonder'and think about next week you and Dev...together.she quickly brighten herself and stood up with a smile..and walked off to Khurana mansion where she was staying for the night. She was planning to go home and Dadi stopped her last minute.

Scene switch to Maan and Geet in the balcony.

Maan picked up his phone as he broke his embrace from geet.

"hello"

"I am coming", a voice said

"WHAT ?? Really ?" Maan listened for a moment. "ok..see you tomorrow.bye"

Geet looked at Maan with questioning eyes, "who was it? who's coming tomorrow?"

Maan grinned, "sorry i can't tell you"..and brought his voice down to a whisper and leaned closer to her ear, "it's a secret."

Geet looked at him surprised, "what? since when do we have secrets from each other?"

Maan placed his arms on her waist and pulled her back to her into his embrace and kissed her temple, "Don't worry, it's not like i am having a affair or something..he saw her glare and hastily continued, "it's a good surprise, you will find out tomorrow."

Geet didn't look very convinced so he added, "trust me."

She could never doubt his trust so she nodded.

"I have to go now unless you wanted me to spend the night here.", he said with mischievous look on his face.

Geet gave a light push as she walked away, "of course not ! you came here on your own..i didn't call you..but on a serious note,Maan you should go home. We almost got caught."

"Oh my always scared finac. you worry too much.. but you are right. i should go home."

He walked up to her , placed a quick kiss on her forehead and pulled her into his arms and held her tight for a few seconds. He needed this to stay away from her the whole night..well half the night now but still.

"ok..come. i will drop you off downstairs.."

Maan shook his head negatively, "no..you stay . and i will lock up..i do have the keys", he said with a huge grin like he had other ideas for using the keys.

Geet just laughed, "ok..go then..bye.."

Maan walked off and turned around from the door, "i love you mishti."

Geet smiled and replied, "i love you too Dhak Dhak"

Maan walked home and sneak into his room quietly. He flopped on his bed with smiled as he replayed the day in his head. He fell asleep without changing and a happy smile on his face. Geet too slept with a smile content with life.

He walked in as the Nakul carried his bags inside.. He stood just inside the door and sighed happily and said, "finally i am home."

Dadi exclaimed, "Vickyyy !!!"

"D !!", he rushed over to give her a tight hug as he swayed her from left to right. "Oh D'i missed you so much..the food in the states sucks."

Dai laughed as she brought him back to look at him as she desired to do for five years and said.."so you only missed because of the food ??"

Vicky laughed as he placed a kiss on her cheek, "of course not D (dadi) !"

Dadi joined in and realized how much her youngest grandson used to make her laug: "oh i missed you beta. come on..let's get some lunch..you must be really hungry. why didn't anyone tell me you were coming today?"

"i----"

"Because he wanted to surprise everyone."

Vicky turned back and ran over to hug his brother, "BB ( big bro), i missed you man."

Dadi watched the brotherly reunion and smiled and said to herself. They look so happy..if only Dev could be here too..

Vicky seem to read her mind and said, "i wish Dev bro could be here too then the whole family would be complete."

Maan looked at Dadi ma who had a look of panic written all over her face. Vicky still doesn't know about his brother's deeds. The truth is hidden from him and he believes Dev and NT are still in Canada. Vicky walked to her and asked, "D, are you ok ? what's wrong ?"

Maan rushed to save the situation. "oh vicky..don't worry,,i will call him and see if he can visit for a while..but for now there is someone else who wants to meet you."

Vicky's face quickly broke into a grin and replied, "of course ..i want to meet her..the girl who changed the hard shell Maan Singh Khurana and taught him to smile."

Vicky expected to give him a angry glare but he got a small smile instead. "wow..she did change you. So where is the unlucky girl?"

"The LUCKY girl should be here soon. Let me call her.. i think she slept in."

Maan walked away as he rung her.

Geet picked up

"Hello sunshine, where are you?? looks like someone slept in this morning."

Geet blushed as she continued her walk to the main house, "umm..woh..well because of you i slept really late last night."

Maan laughed. "really..what did i do?"

Geet just listened in silence and Maan thought she hang up or something.

"Are you there Geet ?"

"Ji( yes) i was just listening to the sound of your laughter..It's the most beautiful sound in the world."

"but where are you ?"

"Right behind you."

Maan put his phone in his pocket as he waited for her to walk up to him. He was wearing a simple yet elegant white suit with embroidery. . She wore white a lot because she was told that was his favourite colour but frankly he only liked seeing the colour on her.

Geet smiled as she placed her hand on his heart and rested her head on the other side. Maan brought his hands to her waist to complete their hug.

"Looks like someone missed me."

Geet just blushed and hugged him closer by locking her arms around his waist.

Maan couldn't have been more pleased, "I missed you too."

"How come no one ever misses me ?" Vicky poked his head from behind the pillar

Geet quickly broke contact from Maan and he let her till a certain point but still placed his arm around her waist.

Vicky grinned mischievously as he walked to BB and his soon to be sister-in-law and said, "well hello, I am Vicky, the youngest of the family", he held out his hand.

Geet smiled and said, "nice to meet you Vicky. I am Geet" and shook his hand

Vicky bend down on one knee and kissed her hand, "well, it's a pleasure to meet you Miss. Geet."

Geet looked at Maan to help her out. He knew she didn't like initimate contact with anyone except him.

"Did he tell you he is the also naughtiest of our family?" he asked as he placed a hand on Vicky's shoulder to signal him to rise.

"well..actually the thing is that I don't like to praise myself. But I had a question Bhabz "..

Maan and geet said in unison, "Bhabz ?"

Vicky shrugged, "well bhabai sounds way too old-fashioned so u don't mind if I call you Bhabz"

Geet shook her head, "no Vicky, you can call me Bhabz"

Vicky walked to Geet and placed his hand around her shoulder, "now to ask you that question"

Vicky signaled Geet to start walking away. They walked away from Maan.

Maan glared at them and walked two steps behind.

Vicky whispered to Geet, "so how did you fall into this Maan Singh Khurana's trap?? I mean he is so----

Geet cut Vicky off, "Vicky!" She said in mock anger as she pulled his ear playfully.

Vicky laughed, "no no Bhabz 'I was just joking..trust me"

Maan said from behind, "so what were you saying?" He questioned as he placed his hand on his waist..

"oh god'this was a really bad time to ask..Bhabz..please..my ear is hurting.."

Geet quickly let go, "oh I am sorry"

Vicky grinned. "I am just playing..but seriously I am happy BB found you. You have shown a different aspect of life. He is so lucky to have you in his life."

Geet smiled, "trust me, I am lucky to have found him. He is given me the world's happiness."

"ok guys..we can emotional another time. For now, Dadi ma is waiting for us to have lunch."

"oh yeah..i forgot I was starving"..he ran off ahead of them.

Maan entwined his fingers with Geet's as they walked.

"I really like him already. He's really different from you and Dev."

"Yeah he is. This is probably a good time to tell u tht Vicky has no idea about what Dev has done in the past."

Geet was surprised, "really ?"

Maan nodded, "yes, and I don't want him to find out about it either. Vicky has a lot of respect for Dev and he will have none left when he finds out the truth."

Geet tightened her grip on his hand and said, " don't worry, Vicky won't find out Dev."

Maan smiled," I knew you would understand. You always understand me."

Geet smiled back and they walked hand and hand to the main house.

So ppl..i was planning to write a longer update but the workload and exams are killing me. So I posted as much as I could. Exams are here so there will be no updates for about 2 weeks.
