Part-6

The moon was fading behind the thickness of clouds as the east horizon started showing its streak of white circle. The color of the sky was trying to welcome the beautiful morning and changed to reddish to pink' ,,.....the sound of a birds flapping wings awaken the sleeping squirrel'.... the narrow stream of river was flowing by making its happiest splashes on the wet stones....'

The Khurana mansion started awakening too. Maan slowly opened his eyes.. with a sweet smile on his lips... for last couple of weeks he tried hard to get into sleep and stop thinking about Geet by digging his head into office files, but his eyes were only seeing the letters, it never got registered in his brain, his mind was flying with her. But now he felt the new energy in him, a freshness in every cell of his body. His mornings were different, but today... he came back to reality.. checked near him, the space was empty.. he sat up quick.. Geet!!!.. where is she.. he got up quick and checked in washroom, and found the space empty'.... his heart started pacing faster.. he looked at the balcony.. he grabbed his T-shirt in his hand and slipped that over his head and almost ran out looking for his Geet..

Daadi looked at him as she saw his rushness while climbing down the steps..

Daadi: Maan.. are you ok?

Maan: yes. Daadi.. Geet?

Daadi: Geet? What happened to Geet? Seeing the frustration in his eyes..

Maan: no.. did you see Geet?

Daadi looked at the kitchen side and saw Geet coming with hot coffee in a tray..

Daadi: here is Geet.. why you look so tensed..

Maan felt a relief as his eyes caught her vision. He walked near to her....'

Geet tried to smile...'

Maan: why you didn't call me? In his concerened voice..

Daadi: What is this Maan..? don't act like a kid. Are you expecting the school bus to be here early..

Maan looked at Daadi in confusion..as if what are you saying..

Daadi took the coffe cup from the tray as she sat on the sofa.. and said: ha.. usually the kids say that thinking they may miss the school bus. You only need to go to office , na. that also your own.. Boss can be little late.. but then looking at the clock.. ya, you are late today, what happened? So finally Maan sing Khurana was able to sleep peacefully..

He looked at Daadi as if how does she knows..

Daadi: I am your daadi, atleast I should know something , right..

Maan took the coffee cup and looked at Geet's face..

Maan: Where is your coffee.. Geet?

Geet tried to voice out hard: I had it already..

She left the space, Maan just watched her walking away..

Daadi: Maan, what is your plan today?

Maan: so many works are pending, I need to finish those, actually I worked on it last night, and got mostly everything in order.. and now need to give final touch up and put it in place..

Daadi smiled and thought : ha Maan, I know, now you are back to yourself, but little different, after many years today you are sitting with me for a morning coffee...'

Maan: why you asked?

Daadi: geet is going to be with me..

Maan: why?

Daadi: it's a girl thing. Why I have to tell you everything. After such a long time, I have some company here, so I want to spend some time with my bahu.. do you have any problem with that?

Maan: no daadi, I just asked, that's all.

Geet walked in again..

Daadi: Geet beta, come and sit near me..

Geet sat near Daadi.. Daadi started telling her about the day's plan.. and Geet was listening carefully..

Maan was just looking at the beauty sitting next to daadi.. he saw the shade of sindoor on her forehead, it didn't wash off well.. her wet hair was left open with little curliness, and it was fanning on the sides.. her cheek looked pinkish.. her lips closed, but trying to smile' ...her ear'....his eyes gone wild as he saw the missing earring, he loved seeing them hanging from ears and shaking as her head nodes'....she was wearing a yellow salwar and the duppatta was kept loosely around her chest..

Daadi: is that ok maan..

Maan was totally into Geet that he didn't hear her voice..

Daadi loudly: Maan..

Maan with a jerk: Ha Daadi..

Daadi: what is 'ha daadi' did you hear what I said?

Maan; jee, what you were saying?

Daadi: Mann, what happened to you. Ok from tomorrow Geet can start going to Indian Paints.. If she sit at home she may feel bored.. so..

Maan: Ha , daadi.. Good idea.. also Geet I want you to take charge of Indian Paints, .. but then he paused thinking somehting hard.. oh no.. how can i forget myself.. he spoke out for self.. we need to go for follow up, I got the time for 8 AM, so may be I can drop you after that... ... I don't have much time to look after everything, you are already there and know the employees and everything , so... And if you need any help.. you can always ask Daadi, she is the best guide, she only guided me..

Daadi looked at him surprisingly: Maan looked at her.. asking what?

Daadi: Ok then, Geet let's take that challenge. Don't think I am old.. I know the company is not doing well. But we are going to run it and will show Maan the girls power..

Maan: what?

Daadi in a stern voice: Geet give me your hand.. Geet shook daadi's hand .

Maan: that is not fare.. she is my wife..

Daadi: and I am your daadi.. and you are not going to interfere in any of our work, we are going to make it girlish way.. you take care of your construction company and we will take care of IP..

Maan understood her point well by now.." Ok then, let see how you two are going to win over me..

He stood up and went to his room to get fresh up...'

Daadi watched him going away, turned to Geet and said: don't worry Geet , you can do it..

Geet: what? I can? Me? But you said We.. the voice just came out easily from her mouth'

Daadi: ha, I know I said that, that is just to win over Maan.. he has big pride , right.. then why should we have to keep quiet..

Geeet: But Daadi, I don't know anything..

Daadi squeezed her hands in hers and said: I am with you, don't worry, I may not be able to run with you everywhere, but I will be available for you anytime.. OK

She rememebered the morning.. as she opened her eyes, she couldn't believe finding herself in his strong wrap.. her heart stopped beating for a second.. she stopped breathing for a second.. she felt everything froze in front of her. But then she felt some kind of uneasiness, suddenly, felt like to be alone for a second.. but as if he heard her wish, he lay on his back by loosening the grip, she just slipped out easily.. she tried to sit half way but her mangalsutr got stuck in his hand'... she looked into his peaceful eyes, his face looked so calm '... when and how I end up in his warmth.. she couldn't recollect anything back only she could recollect was her trying to lay facing away from him, and he looking into the monitor.. and and then' ...everything is blank until now.. she carefully got her chain released and went to washroom'./... and then down to kitchen , trying to escape from facing him, escape from herself'.

She heard Maan's voice calling out for her.. as she walked to their room, she thought, he is calling her in such a calm voice.. he never done that, always tried to shout at her for everything'.... she stepped in.. saw man drying his hair.. wearing his jeans.. the white towel fell around his back neck hanging to the front'... he saw her coming in'

Maan: geet, come here..

She went near to him.. he came closer to her.. she stopped as she came so closer to him.. and he haulted too near the dressing table.. he looked into her face so closely and lovingly.. tried to read her eyes.. she looked down.. he put his finger under her chin and raised her face to look at him.. and she did.. he could see the coldness in her look...' he felt the same, but doesn't want her to know..

Maan in a husky voice: do you know why I called you?

She just nodded her head in disagreement..

He turned and took a gold color jumki from the dressing table.. and raised upto her eye level and asked.. ye kaise phool gayi?

She didn't say anything.. he slowly put the one on her right ear and then the next one.. she stood in front him like a statue.. he held her shoulder..

Maan: hum, now you look like my Geet'... do you know sometimes I get jealous of your jumki's'.. she didn't say anything', just listened..

Maan: do you know why?

She looked at him in question..

Maan neared to her ear and murmured in: they are so lucky to be a part of you.,..' they are with you all the time.. kash mei..

He stopped there and looked into her eyes and continued..: but now you are a part of me.. I am complete in you. If you stand by me, I don't need anything else.. with that he placed a soft kiss over her forehead.. she didn't move, stood still listening to everything.. he looked into her eyes again and then brushing his wetness of body on her slender arms he moved away' ...she stood there in trance'

He turned back once to see her reaction' ...slightly smirked and went to change. He came out in his office attire, and adjusted his ties.. saw geet still in trance..

He went near her wearing his watch..: Geet, go get ready.. daadima may be waiting for you..

Geet: je..

Maan: hum..

Maan looked at her in confusion: what?

Geet: kuch nahi'

he felt happy to hear her sound... He smiled and went to the wardrobe and took a nice white suit out and gave to her.. you will look beautiful in this.. and went to take his office stuff.

She went to change and came out.. he looked at her as she came out, but then again he looked back as he doesn't wanted her to catch him.. With the corner of his eyes, he watched her tying her hair, adjusting her chain, he loved that, he loved it whenever he see that chain around her neck.. that gave him hope.. may a hope for her too, unknowingly'

She thought while adjusting the chain.. it happened to me earlier too, but then all those were fake, that chain was not meant for me..but this is mine,only mine.. he is mine.. she looked at him with her corener eye, saw him busy in his office stuff... she turned to look at the mirror again.. his heart was jumping with joy, but he controlled... she looked at her parted hair, the sindoor faded away.. she felt sad.. she looked around for the sindoor, but failed.. he saw her frustration..

Maan: geet , are you ok.. missing something.

Geet looked at him and nodded her head ,conveying nothing..

Maan; let's go..

Geet nodded her head again..

They walked out together, he wrapped his arms around her shoulder as if he didn't want to leave her.. but'.

As they walked down, geet saw a kumkum bottle in near shop, she looked at it, Daadi slowed down as she didn't see Geet with her. She saw Geet staring at the sindoor bottle, she smiled and went near.. : you want to buy one..

She just nodded her head'.. daadi smiled again

As they were returning

Daadi: Now a days nobody care about all these, so I didn't pay attention to that. But it is your wish, do as you wish..

She smiled and thought.. daadi, I know the value of it. Because of this I got apart from my family, my brother tried to kill me, my mom asked me to take that pill.. but now I got the right , to wear all these.. he gave me the name.. he gave me the hope.. he is mine and only mine...' I wish I listened to him once, then I should have not.. her thought got break there and unknowingly her hands rubbed over her tummy', her eyes felt slightly wet, but she controlled as she heard Daadi's voice again...'
