Part # 8

In the morning''Alpana wakes up quite late and finds herself alone in the room. She was having a lil headache'..but just then she saw a glass of lime juice kept on the side table'.wid a note saying "Have it'.u'll feel better".

Now her thoughts go back to the events of last night'.as to how she ended up on the bed wid such a bad headache!! She vaguely remembers taking the tequila shots'..and then Rudhir bringing her home'.and then'..her stupid actions''

Alpana gasps at the very thought'.

"I possibly didn't do anything of this sort'..aisa ho hi nahi sakta'.did I actually do or say any of these things to HIM?? Or is it just my mind is making up things? Darn it'.oh God'.shayad isiliye wo yaha nahi hai''warna aise hi subah subah nikal nahi jata'..maine zarur ye sab stupid baatein kahin hongi'.gosh!! Ab kya karu?"

Alpana remains worried all day long'..she wanted to call Rudhir as well'.In fact she did '..but then she didn't knw'.wat to say!! So she just hung up'.and he had called bak to enquire wat happened. Alpana just lied that'..she called him by mistake'and then he asked her if she was f9. Alpana just managed a 'hmm''..and they hung up. She didn't want to talk abt last night on the phn'.. she thought of w8ing for him till he comes back'..as she can at least see the expression on his face when he is in front of her!!

So throughout the whole day she has this one thing to do'.thats to ponder over the happenings of last night!! She remembers crying in front of him, shouting at him'..while he picked her up in his arms'..made her lie down on the bed'.and slipped beside her holding her closer to himself. Though worried'..Alpana still has a faint smile on her face'..and a silent wish in her eyes hoping all these did happen'..and she did have sum moments wid HIM!! And again'..one part of her was scared'.as it thinks he took care of her and didn't say anything'.only becoz she was not in senses'.but most probably he did feel offended!!

"Damn it Dhir'.kahan ho tum? Tension ke mare mujhe heart attack aa jayega'.its time for u to cum na? Kahan reh gaye?"

She was getting restless'.and a lil frustrated as well. After a while'.she hears the car horn'..and she looks out of the window to see his car was there. He was back!! Though she has been w8ing for this moment since morning'.she suddenly becums nervous'.and doesn't kwn wat to do'..so she just keeps standing near the window only.

As Rudhir enters the house'.he finds her standing straight near the window. Her facial expressions were not the usual'.and he looked a bit confused.

Rudhir: Hi'.tum thik ho?

Alpana: Huh??

Rudhir: Kya hua? Aise kyun dekh rahi ho? Are u okay?

Alpana: Yeah'.

Rudhir: Kal raat ka hangover utra?

Alpana: Haan? Haan''actually'.am sorry abt last night'..pata nahi main kya kar rahi thi'kya keh rahi thi'.

Rudhir: (smiles) Its ok'.hota hai kabhi kabhi'.

Alpana: No I mean'actually'.mujhe thoda thoda yaad hai I guess'.and (she looks down not kwning how to justify her words) I think'maine kal'.wo''maine tumse'.jo bhi kaha....wo

Rudhir: Mujhse kya? Tumne mujhse to kuch nahi kaha Alpana? (he looks confused'.and she looks surprised and a bit hurt'.he again called her 'Alpana')

Alpana: Kya? Didn't I say anything? I mean'.ghar ane ke baad'.

Rudhir: Umm'no'.u didn't say a thing'.u were completely lost'.and u just crushed to bed.

Alpana: Are u sure? (it was hard to blv'.she actually imagined all that)

Rudhir: Yes Alpana'.it was u who were drunk'.not me!! Anyways'I'll just change and cum back ok?

And he left'.leaving her wid new thoughts!!

"Was I just dreaming or wat?? Uski baaton se to aisa nahi lagta'.ki kal raat kuch bhi unusual hua tha''then wat the hell was I thinking??"

She then thinks'..she had been frustrated for quite a while'..and wanted to burst out to him as well'.so may be that's why she had dreamed all these'..She was a bit upset that those moments btwn them were just her imagination'.but then when she thought practically'.she felt it was for the better!!

The day after the next'..

It was Alpana's birthday'..Her father wished her first'..and then Rudhir wished her in the morning'.and after that she was poured wid calls from frnds and sum relatives!!

In the evening Rudhir was urging her to get ready for a party'.but she was not interested to go.

Alpana: I'm sorry Rudhir'.mere sir me dard hai'.I really cant go for the party. I knw'.tum hamesha hi chalte ho mere sath'and I wud love to go as well'.bday ke din'.kisi aur party me bhi jau'.to achha hi lagta'..but am actually having a bad headache'.

Rudhir: Arre'to disprin le lo na'..aur may be u can do wid sum balm'.

Alpana: Why r u so keen Rudhir? (she asks doubtfully)

Rudhir: (sighs) Fine'I am telling u'.but kisiko mat batana ki maine bata diya'.

Alpana: Kya?

Rudhir: Actually tumhare kuch frnds and collegues ne ek surprise party organize kiya hai'..and I had to take u along'.without letting u knw anything'.ab pls chalo na'.bday girl k bina kaisi bday party?

Alpana: Oh'.but iski kya zarurat thi? I just'(gives up) achha thik hai'.main tayyar ho jati hu'.

Rudhir:

Alpana gets ready'.but she doesn't look interested at all. She didn't even seem happy'.rather she looked upset!! But still'.keeping aside all her disinterest''she tried to put a smile on her face'.and went for the party!!

As they reach the venue'.Alpana steps inside while Rudhir follows her closely behind.

Alpana: (whispers) Lights bandh kyun hai?

Rudhir: (replies in whisper) Simply becoz it's a surprise!! Now pls'.do act like u r surprised ok? I'll just come'.

Alpana: Wo..'.(and he turns back'.but shes doesn't knw how to say that she wants him to stay) ah..'kuch nahi!!

"Uff'.now I have to act overwhelmed and happy around everyone!! Am already feeling low'.ab puri shyam'gosh!! And wats with this surprise? Bacchi thodi hu jo birthday par surprise de rahe hai'..and why the hell is it taking so long?? Ek light on karne me'."

And her chain of thoughts is broken as the lights r on. Alpana gasps as she finds the whole place decorated wid orchids'..she loved the flower!! Everything around her had a lavender shade'..she loved the colour!! Her eyes set on the writing of the wall'.which says "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DARLING WIFE"

She doesn't need to act overwhelmed'.as she is truly mesmerized by the way everything was done. She didn't actually think of sumthing this much beautiful. It is rather surprising for her''as every single thing around her is according to her choice. Now the only thing she wants to knw is'.if Rudhir had contributed in all this. She looked around to find him'.but there was none'.at all!!

Alpana: Rudhir!! Rudhir kahan ho tum? Ru'(she stops as sum1 hugs her from behind and she knws its HIM)

Rudhir: Mujhe 'Dhir' nahi bulaogi?

Alpana is stunned as she feels him so close to her'.and also confused at his words''when he pulls the trolly in front of her'.and she can see the cake on it'.it didn't say Happy Birthday'..it said'. "I LOVE YOU!!"

Alpana doesn't react'.as she is too stunned to even breathe or blink her eyes!! Rudhir, who was resting his chin on her shoulder, now hits her slightly wid his forehead'.and whispers in her ear "I truly love you yaar'..trust me!!"

As soon as he says this'.she closes her eyes'.a single drop of tear adorns her cheek. Rudhir turns her to himself'and wipes away the tear with his thumb.

Rudhir: Alpana'.arent you happy? Look at me'.aankhein kholo Alpu!!

Alpana: (trying not to let the tears fall) Nahi'..mujhe pata hai'.main phirse imagine kar rahi hu'.lekin iss baar main aankhein nahi kholungi'.mujhe issi sapne me rehne do'pls don't jerk me out'.I feel suffocated everytym I think that we r actually not together!!

Rudhir smiles at her uncertainty. Then he cups her face'..and brings it closer to him. Caressing her cheeks wid his thumb'..he slowly grazes his lips wid hers. It was a light peck on her lips'.and then he slowly ascends towards her ears.

Rudhir: (in a whisper) Then we shud get together!! But for that'.u shud let this moment be a part of our reality and not just ur imagination'.so pls'.open ur eyes sweetheart (he kisses her earlobe while Alpana catches on her breath)

Now Rudhir faces her'.and he finds Alpana's innocent eyes staring into his deep ones. There was still just one expression on her face'. 'confusion'. Rudhir stared at her for a while but then cudnt surpass his laughter anymore as she looked too cute wid that expression on her face'.so he laughed away from her!!

Rudhir: (laughing) Alpu'why r u staring like this? Mujhe sharam aa rahi hai' (and she shifts her vision to his laughing self) Kya hua? Dekho 'reality aur imagination ke bich me fark karna sikh lo'..Wo raat bhi sach thi'and aaj ki raat bhi sach hai darling!! (she is still looking at him wid a bewildered expression) Pls Don't say'.tumhe abhi bhi ye sapna lag raha hai'.otherwise I now have to pinch you!!

Alpana: Don't bother'.coz am gonna punch you!!

And now she seriously starts to beat him wid her hand and bag. But here'.Rudhir cant help laughing at her childlike nature. He adored her for sure!!

Alpana: Tumhe hassi aa rahi hai'.You jerk!! Samjahte kya ho khudko? Mera mazak banate ho!!

Rudhir: Arre tumhe ab bhi mazak lagta hai? One sec yaar Alpu'pehle clear karo'tumhe yakeen to hua na'that I actually Love You!!

Alpana: Confess kar rahe ho'.ya meri taang khich rahe ho?

Rudhir: Arre'main kahan tumhara taang khich raha hu'.achhi khaasi to khadi ho tum!! Agar main tumhara taang khich raha hota'

Alpana: Shut up!! I'm gonna kill you!! (now she looks around to find sumthing so that she can hit him)

Rudhir: I think that can help you in this regard. (and he shows her the knife which was there to cut the cake'..Alpana follows his indication and then turns towards him in anger) Wah..Maa Kaali aa hi gayi tumme'lagta hai'.ur birthday marks my death day'.chalo bye-bye'.next janam me milenge'after all'saath janmo ka saath hai!!

Alpana: (pushes him to the wall) You are insane!! Baat baat pe jhooth bolte ho!! Party wali baat pe bhi jhooth bola!! On the spur of the moment'.u can create lies'you liar!! Pehle pata hota to tumse kabhi shaadi nahi karti'

Rudhir: Too late for ur realization sweetie'maine to pehle din hi kaha tha'.mana kar do shaadi ke liye'but tum khud nahi maani''ab to 8^th janam me hi kuch ho sakta hai'though I will try my best to meet you in that birth as well'(he says wid a genuine smile)

Alpana: (wid a pout) So that night wasn't my imagination!!

Rudhir: Ab bhi doubt hai?

Alpana: Kya zarurat thi ye sab natak karne ki?

Rudhir: Actually I didn't plan all this'.in fact main to kaafi excited tha'.as to how to talk to u and all'but then achanak date par nazar gayi'and it struck me that ur bday is near'.to socha'.it can be ur bday gift!! Kyun'maza aya na?

Alpana: Shut up'u over smart fool. Pareshan karke rakha hai tumne mujhe'.do u realize'.mujhe kaisa feel ho raha tha?? Its so suffocating Rudhir!!

Rudhir: I wud prefer 'Dhir' pls!! (and he gets smacked in the arm) Ouch'.arre wah'main tumhe Alpana bulata hu'to rondi si shakal bana leti ho'.and when I want to hear 'Dhir' from u'.to mujhe maarti ho? Discrimination is not allowed!!

Alpana: I hate you!!

Rudhir: Jhooth mat bolo'.I knw u love me'tumne uss din bare hi pyar se confess kiya tha'.and I knw'insaan nashe me sach hi bolta hai'(and he winks at her)

Alpana: Tumhe maza aa raha hai na? Meri stupidity dekh kar?

Rudhir: Sach kahu to'.I have never loved such stupidity before!! (he says this looking into her eyes'.but she looks away from his gaze'still maintaining the pout'so he comes closer to her and cups her face) Seriously Alpu'.I donno'.wat we wud hav done wid our lives'.only if u hadnt drunk that night!!

Alpana: When r u going to stop reminding me of that? (and she feels a lil embarrassed at the flashes)

Rudhir: Well I wont stop doing that!! Coz that's my best night'.but haan'.ek kaam ho sakta hai!! (and she looks on) Say "I love you" to me'right now'.in ur full senses and (getting a lil closer) make this my best night!! (he ends softly'while his warm breath touches her skin)

Alpana closes her eyes'.and he slides his one hand around her waist'.while pulling her closer by the neck!! As she felt his cold hand on her bare waist'.she twitched in his arms while he just smiled. He held her more firmly'.and pulled her even closer so that she can feel him. He traces her lips wid his thumb'.while her hands clutch his collar tightly!!

Rudhir: Say it Alpu'.mujhe sunna hai'.

And he had such authority in his voice'and Alpana felt compelled to oblige by him'.but she was too tranced by the proximity to think of anything'..and so she simply cudnt spot on wat she was supposed to say!! So she replied wid her eyes closed'.

Alpana: Kya?

Rudhir: (places a soft kiss near her jawline) That you love me!!

Alpana: (repeats his lines unmindfully) That you love me!!

Rudhir: (surprised) Alpu!! Mazak kar rahi ho kya?

Alpana: (still in the trance) Hmmm'.

Rudhir just looks at her closed eyes and feels his heart racing even faster'..he softly kisses on her eyes and descends wid his lips caressing her cheeks. He lays soft kisses down her neckline....while she enjoys the feeling of having him close to her!! In the meanwhile, he removes her hair-pin'.and her hair falls on her shoulder'.making her tremble a bit. He snuggles closer to her neck'.while her hands finally release his collar and run along his neck'.arousing him all the more!! He slowly moves upwards towards her lips'and gently seals her lips wid his. Her hands rest behind his neck'.too engrossed for any movement!! And here'.he continues to pull her closer to him'.running his hands along her waist. She was completely under his spell'..as she surrendered herself to him!! After a while'.

"I might not be able to stop Alpu"

"U don't need to"

"Are u sure u love me more than ur cake?"

At this Alpana opens her eyes and looks at him'..being a lil confused.

"Why r u confused sweetheart? I was saying so'coz ur cake is gonna be wasted for sure'as I am not gonna waste a single moment anymore (and he picks her up in his arms) irrespective of the fact that u still havnt confessed to me'in ur full senses!!"

At this Alpana blushes'.

"So this means'my confession doesn't really suit ur interest'.does it?"

"Well, I'm not really interested in my interest anymore'.I am pathetic in this regard'.and so from now on'rather than suiting wid my interest'.I wud suit wid my beautiful wife!! Waise'darr to nahi lag raha hai na'.that I might drop you?" (and he winks while she goes red in embarrassment)

Now the door is closed'.and the candle on the cake is burnt'.drawing the end to a very 'interesting' chapter of Rudhir-Alpana's life'.as life starts afresh wid this very end!!
