~SURPRISE!!!~

Recap: RM getting late for the interview. Both of them end up catching the same auto. First meet n first fight. Poor driver has to bear it all the way. Each of them hopes to never see the other ever again.

PART 3

Outside the Poise Fashion Magazine building at about 9:50am. An auto stops at the Gate. After a hectic train journey, Rahul is lucky enough to get an auto quickly and so he reaches there first. At the reception, he makes enquiries as to where he is supposed to wait. The receptionist tells him that, since the previous candidate had not shown up, he need not wait. He could directly proceed to the Conference Room on the 2^nd floor, i.e. where the interviews are being held.

Rahul: Thanks!!! ( he says to her and the moment he turns behind?. BANGGG!!!!!!!!!!!! The next thing he knows, he's lying on top of a girl. And wait????.. doesn't she look familiar???????)

Muskaan: Aaaahhhh!!! Meri kamar tod di. (she cried without noticing who was on top of her)

Rahul: TUM!!!

Muskaan: Oye TU!!!!!

Rahul: Tum yahan kya kar rahi ho??????

Muskaan: Main toh yahan int??(she began but then)?. Ek minute! Main tumhe kyun bataaoon?????? Waise, tum yahan kya kar rahe ho? OMG, kahin tum mera peecha toh nahi kar rahe the!!! Mujhe pata tha, laaton ke bhoot baaton se nahi maante. Oye kaminey kahi ke uth, uth jaldi!!! (And she started hitting him and pushing him)

Rahul: Arreey arrey stop!!! Kya kar rahi ho??? ( he got up and tried stopping her. But she was Muskaan after all. How could she give up so easily? She too stood up and continued whacking him. None of them were aware of the fact that they were grabbing a lot of attention. However then, the receptionist yelled)

Receptionist: ENOUGH!!!!!! Whats going on? And madam, may I know why you're here?

This brought Muskaan back to her senses. She realized that her hands were on Rahul's collar. So she immediately let go and turned to face the receptionist.

Muskaan: Oh, Im sorry. My name is Muskaan Chaddha and Im here for an Interview.

Receptionist: If im not wrong Miss Chaddha, your interview was scheduled at 9:45 and its almost 10 now. Aap toh late ho gayi.

Rahul: (to himself) Oh no! Yeh musibat yahan bhi. Rahul isse pehle ki yeh ladki tere liye aur problems create kare, tu nikal yahan se. (And he goes from there)

Muskaan: Dekhiye Im really sorry. I know Im late but yeh interview mere liye bahot important hai. Please please mujhe jaane do.

Receptionist: But I cant. I've been told that if the candidate is not in time, then I am not supposed to allow that candidate later.

Muskaan: But I said Im sorry na! Ab traffic toh meri marzi se nahi chalti. Toh iss mein meri kya galti hai? Batao. Ab tumhi batao.

Receptionist: I understand. Lekin mujhe instructions mile hai. Aur agar maine aapko allow kiya toh boss mujhe naukri se nikaal denge.

Muskaan: Aise thodi nikaal denge. Aap ek kaam karo. Meri baat apne boss se karvao. I'l convince him that Im the best for this job.

Meanwhile, Rahul reaches the Conference room and knocks on the door. Getting no response, he knocks again??.. Still no response??? He then pushes it open only to see the2 people in front of him, lost in each others eyes. Rahul felt very awkward standing there. So to make his presence known he said.

Rahul: Umm? Excuse me. May I come in?

Both Abhimanyu and Nikita turn towards the door. And on seeing Rahul they feel a little embarassed. However, Abhi then glances at a file in front of him, then looks at Rahul and says.

Abhi: Mr. Rahul Garewal?

Rahul: Yes Sir. Good Morning.

Abhi: Good morning. Please come in.

Rahul enters and goes and sits on one of the chairs. He then shows his file, containing his biodata, designs and other documents.

Nikita: Well Mr. Rahul, you seem to be the best in whatever you have done so far. Impressive!!!

Rahul: Thank you mam. (He smiled, but the look on his face showed his confusion as he wondered who she was)

Nikita: (noticing that look, she said) Actually, Im Mrs. Nikita Modi. His wife(she said pointing at Abhi) Main yahan roz nahi aati. Coz I work from home. But most of our HR staff is on leave. So Im here to assist Mr. Modi in the interviews.

Rahul: Oh! Nice to meet you Mrs. Modi.

Nikita: Same here. So tell me Mr. Garewal why Poise Fashion magazine?

Rahul: Well you see mam, Poise has been one of the leading fashion magazines in India. And I want to be a part of it and do my best to make it NO.1

Abhi: I like the Spirit. But Mr. Garewal, the job requires more of a creative person. Your designs are quite good I agree but Im looking for something different. And moreover, you seem more of the analytical sort.

Rahul: Then maybe I could help you choose the best designs?

Just then, theres a knock on the door.

Abhi: Come in.

Peon: Sir, Mr.Mehra ne yeh aapko dene ke liye kaha hai. (He hands over an envelope to Abhi and goes)

Abhi opens it and reads the letter inside. He then gives it to Nikita, who on reading it looks at Abhi shocked.

Rahul: Kya hua sir? Koi problem?

They both look at Rahul and the frown on their face turns into a smile.

Abhi: Problem toh thi. Lekin aapne solve kar di.

Rahul: Um.. Main kuch samjha nahi??

Nikita: Yeh jo letter aap dekh rahe hai, woh Mr Mehra ka resignation letter hai. Woh humare creative department ke decisions lete the. But now, due to family reasons, he cannot continue working with us. So Rahul, Congrats!!!! ( She puts her hand forward and Rahul shakes it)

Rahul: Thanks a lot mam. (he smiled)

Nikita: Hmm? Rahul you don't need to call me mam. Just call me Nikita.

Rahul: But?..

Abhi: She's right. And call me Abhi. You are now a part of Poise. And we have a friendly environment here. So our policy is that we address each other on first name basis. Besides, this Sir/Mam thing makes us feel so old yaar.

Niki: Exactlyyy!!!! Hum toh tumhaare umar ke hi hai na. So chill yaar. No need to be so formal.

Rahul kept looking from Abhi to Niki and back. He could not believe his ears. Here he was, sitting for an interview; And the owners were talking to him like they were his long lost friends. And he already got a job!!!!! The entire thing happened soooo fast, it hardly seemed like an interview.

Abhi: Kya hua Rahul??? Don't look so surprised. You'll get used to it. (He smiled and shook hands with Rahul) Welcome to Poise!!!!

Rahul: (Shaking hands) Thanks Sir? I mean? Thanks Abhi.

Just then the phone rings. And Niki answers it.

Niki: Ya Stella! What is it?.......................... Ohh!! Ek kaam karo. Usse upar aane do???????.. Yes, you heard me right. Let her come.

Abhi: So Rahul, you can report to work from tomorrow itself. Your timings will be from 9am-5pm.

Rahul: OK then. I'l see you tomorrow. And thanks again!!! (He gets up to leave, but then stops and looking at Abhi-Niki, he says) Theres one thing I have to say to both of you. It is indeed remarkable that you have achieved so much, at such a young age. You must have put in a lot of effort, im sure?

Abhi: Well, to tell you the truth Rahul, Poise would not have been what it is today, without Niki. Initially, our organizational policies and the environment here were very rigid and formal. But it was Niki who made me realize that employees should not be treated as slaves. We then brought about drastic changes in our rules and policies, thus making Poise a friendly and homely place to be in. I guess, this motivated the employees to work wholeheartedly and give their best to the company.

Rahul: Oh that's great. So I guess the credit goes to Nikita.

Niki: Thanks. But it was all possible only because Abhi actually took my advice and implemented it.

Rahul: (smiles) You both have worked hard to get Poise to this position. And now that Im a part of the Poise family, I too promise to do the best I can. Anyway, see you at 9 tomorrow. Bye.

Abhi: Bye! Have a good day.

Rahul: You too. Bye Nikita.

Niki: Bye!

Rahul walks towards the door and pushes it open not knowing whats in store for him next. The door banged right into Muskaan who was on the other side. She lost her balance and was about to fall backwards but our hero caught her just in time. With his right hand below her waist, he also managed to catch her file and papers, with the other, which would have otherwise fallen all over the place. At the same time though, two other employees who were busy looking at Rahul's heroic catch bumped into each other and dropped all their papers as well as a vase on a nearby stand.

Rahul: Tum jaisi giri hui ladki maine aaj tak nahi dekhi. Jab dekho yahan ? wahan girti rehti ho. Tumhe aur koi kaam nahi hai kya?

Muskaan: Oye kaminey, kaankhajure kahin ke. Maine socha koi hero hoga, jisne mujhe aur meri file ko itne style se pakad liya. Par phooti kismat! Nikla toh tum jaisa zero. (She then glanced at the 2 people getting up from the floor) Ek toh tumhari wajah se doosre log gir rahe hai, aur tum mujhe giri hui keh rahe ho!!!! Ab aise?????

But before she could say anything more, Nikita comes out to see what the commotion was all about. However, on seeing Muskaan, she yelled in excitement.

Niki: MUSSKKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Muskaan: Haiiillllaaaaaaa!!!! NIKI TU!!!!!!!! (she said surprised to see Nikita)

Rahul: Inka naam Nikitu nahi, Nikita hai.

Muskaan: Tumse kisi ne kuch poocha kya? Apni chonch bandh rakho aur ek minute meri file pakde rehna (she ordered as she straightened herself and went to hug Nikita).

Rahul: Kya zamaana aa gaya hai!!! Jise bachaya woh Thanks kehne ke badle order de rahi hai. (he said sacarstically)

Niki: Bachaya??? By the way, yahan ho kya raha tha??? Woh vase kaise toota? Aur Muski tu Rahul ki baahon mein kya kar rahi thi???? (she said teasingly)

Muskaan: Ohhhh!!! Toh is piddhe ka naam Rahul hai. (Rahul glared at her in anger) Anyway, tu isse chod, aur mujhe yeh bata school ke baad toh tu Delhi se gaayab hi ho gayi. Aur tu yahan kya kar rahi hai? Kahi uss Modi ki personal secretary toh nahi?

Nikita burst out laughing and even Rahul could not help but smile widely.

Niki: Haan!!! Kuch aisa hi samajh.

Muskaan: (Turning to face Rahul) Oye! Tum kyun daant dikhakar aise rabbit ki tarah has rahe ho? Maine koi joke bola hai kya Mr. Rahul? Ab meri file mujhe do (saying so she snatched it from him)

Niki: Arrey Muski!! Itne rudely kyun baat kar rahi hai? Aur tune bataya nahi tu yahan kaise?

Rahul: Yeh Jhansi ki rani interview ke liye aayi hai.

Muskaan: Abey! Tu phir bola. Yaar Niki main kya bataaon! Yeh chuchundar subah se mera dimaag kharaab kar raha hai.

Rahul: Waise Nikita, aapki saheli ne bhi mere dimaag ko bahot torture kiya hai. Ab main agar ek second bhi yahan ruka, toh mujhe poora paagal karke chodegi. So I better leave. Bye!!!

Niki says bye to him but Muskaan is busy giving out curses under her breath. Once Rahul is out of sight, Niki looks at Muskaan and is amused to see her continuous muttering.

Niki: (giggling) Muski tu abhi tak bilkul nahi badli na! Agar ek baar kisi ne tujhe gussa dilaya toh tu usse pareshaan kar ke hi chodegi.

Muskaan: Arre pareshaan toh usne kiya hai mujhe. Jab se ghar se nikli hoon, tab se kuch na kuch gadbad ho raha hai. Aur har waqt ye idiot mujhse takraate rehta hai aur mere dimaag ka dahi bana deta hai.

Niki: Acha baba, now chill. By the way tu sach mein yahan interview dene aayi hai? Matlab Stella teri baat bar rahi thi.

Muskaan: Stella???

Niki: Haan, humaari receptionist. Bechari ne bataya ke tu upar aane ke liye kitna drama kar rahi thi.

Muskaan: Arre yaar woh drama nahi, sach tha. Mujhe sach mein iss job ki bahot zaroorat hai.

And she tells Niki about her situation. Niki feels bad that her childhood friend went through quite a lot of problems. But she is happy to see her jhalli saheli so mature and responsible. Pulling Muskaan into a side hug she says.

Niki: Don't worry yaar. Sab theek ho jayega. Chal ab andar chalte hain. Woh Modi intezaar kar raha hai! (she smiles mischievously and holds the door open for Muskaan to enter. Muskaan looks at Niki confused, but enters and Niki follows her.)

Abhi: (He is busy going through the list of candidates and without looking up he says) Niki, jis job ke liye humne interviews rakhi thi, uske liye toh koi mila hi nahi. Ab kya kare? (he then looks up. On seeing Muskaan he asks) Yeh kaun hai?

Niki: Tumhaare sawaal ka jawaab!!!

Muskaan: (whispers to Niki) Oye tu apne boss se kaise baat kar rahi hai!!!

Abhi: Matlab???

Niki: Yeh Muskaan hai. Muskaan Chaddha. Apna interview dene aayi hai. Aur Muski yeh hai Mr. Abhimanyu Modi, mere pati parmeshwar aur Poise ke editor-cum-owner.

Muskaan: (shocked on hearing Abhi's description) Niki!!!!!!! Tu Mrs. Nikita Modi hai??????????? (And Niki nods her head indicating YES.Muskaan forgets where she is and why & immediately pulls Niki into a tight hug) Im soooooooo happpyyyyy for you. Tune mujhe pehle kyun nahi bataya?

Abhi: Aap dono ek doosre ko jaante ho?

Muskaan: Jaante ho??? Arre jiju hum dono bachpan ki saheliyan hai. Saath mein khelte, ek saath school jaate the. We're like best friends (she said in full Muski style hi-fying Niki)

Abhi: Oh nice to meet you Muskaan. (he smiled) Par job toh aapko interview dene ke baad hi milegi.

Muskaan: Obviously!!! Yeh bhi koi kehne ki baat hai. Main toh yahi maanti hoon ki personal aur professional relationships alag rakhne chahiye. (she sincerely replied, walking ahead towards the table. Then stopping about 2 feet away from Abhi, she said) Good Morning Sir. Im Muskaan Chaddha and this is my rsum alongwith my designs. (She then gave him her file)

Abhi: (taking the file he said) Good morning Miss Chaddha. Please have a seat.

Muskaan sat on a nearby chair while Abhi went through her documents. Niki smiled at how Muskaan changed her behaviour within a second. She knew that Muskaan would never use her personal influence for the job. Admiring her friend for her honest & self-reliant attitude, she went and sat down next to Abhi.

Abhi: So Ms.Chaddha, what made you apply for this job, especially here at Poise?

Muskaan: To be honest sir, there are 3 reasons for this; the 1^st one being to support my family. Secondly its my love for fashion designing and last but not the least, its Poise's great reputation. Besides I can assure you??????????.. (but before she could complete)

Abhi: AMAZING! FANTASTIC! MARVELLOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!(he nearly yelled in excitement, shocking both Muskaan and Niki)

Niki: Kya hua????????

Abhi: I don't believe this!!!!!!!!!! Its simply great. They're sooooo unique. Just what I''ve been looking for. (he was flipping through Muskaan's designs) Where have you been all this time Muskaan??? (he said looking at her in awe)

Muskaan was so surprised to see this side of Abhi, that she didn't know what to say for a moment. After sometime she spoke.

Muskaan: Im glad you liked it Sir. Thank You! (she smiled)

Abhi: Liked it???????? I loved it!!! Niki did you see this (he turned towards her and asked) Im so damn sure these designs will be a revolution in the fashion industry.

Niki: They definitely will Abhi. But for now, just calm down a bit. (she said placing her hand on his shoulder and trying to remind him he was in the middle of an interview)

Abhi: Ya you're right!!! (he agreed, calming down a little. Then turning to Muskaan he said) So Muskaan I'd like you to be a part of the Poise family as soon as possible.

Muskaan blinked about 5 times, not believing that what she heard was true indeed.

Muskaan: Are you serious??????????????? Sir!!!!! ( she added later)

Abhi: Off course I am!!! And please call me Abhi.

Muskaan: Ok. But WHYYY???? (she looked confused)

Niki: Arrey, tum apni friend ke pati ko sir bulaogi toh ajeeb lagega na! (she said jokingly but with a serious face)

Muskaan: Haan! Baat toh sahi hai. (She cutely replied without realizing that Niki was just kidding. But then Abhi explained the actual reason to her as he had done to Rahul) Chalo achcha hai!!! (she then said in full Muski style) Warna kitna weird hota na Niki, tujhe Mam bulana aur jiju ko Sir!!!!! (She rolled her eyes at the thought. And Abhi-Niki laughed at her expressions) Anyway, so when should I report to work?

Abhi: I'd say tomorrow itself! (he replied) Infact, we just appointed the person you'll be working with. His name is Ra???..

Niki: Yeh office ki baatein hum kal kar lenge na. (she cut in before Abhi could say Rahul's name coz she didn't want to spoil Muskaan's mood)

Muskaan: Haaaan!!!! Main bhi jaldi se ghar jaa ke mummyji ko yeh good news deti hoon (And she got up to leave) Bye jiju!!!! Thanks a lot.

Abhi: Bye saali-sahiba!!! (he smiled) You deserved it!!!

Muskaan: (she smiled back) Bye Niki!!!

Niki: Bye!!!!! Aunty ko meri taraf se Hi kehna!

Muskaan: Sure!!(and she left)

Abhi: Bahot hi cheerful aur funny hai Muskaan.

Niki: Bachpan se!!!!!! (she laughed)

Precap: They meet again n again n again!!!!!! Inspite of being poles apart, what keeps getting Rahul and Muskaan back together? Off course they have to work with each other, to their dismay. But this time it's not just work though. Its family too!!! Little Miss Garewal needs dance lessons and she has a new friend who helps her out!!!

Hiee guys, Im really sorry for not being able to PM everyone coz ive updated this under weird circumstances. I never thought I'd be able to do so anytime in May. But, I hate to keep you guyz waiting soooo much. So, luckily I got the chance of doing it from my mom's office. I had to get it done really quick so couldn't even format the part properly. But I'm sure you guys wont mind, as long as you have a part to read. This one was really long compared to the previous ones. Hope it didn't get u bored. It was just to compensate for the long wait.

At present I really do not have the time to read all your lovely comments. But I surely will once I get home. Thanks to all of you for bearing with me.
