Prithvi looked up coldly at Arjun but remained silent. His friends went into splits of laughter.

"Kyun pareshan kar raha hai use Arjun? Baat kya hai Prithvi, uss ladki ki khatirdaari karni padegi isliye pareshan ho?"

"Nahi Samar. Aisi baat nahi hai." He replied.

Prithvi and his four friends were sitting in the former's bedroom. They had come to meet him on new year. It would still be 3 more days before the college reopened. Prithvi had been unusually quiet when they had come to meet him and upon enquiring, the beans had been spilled not by Prithvi but by Vaidehi. They had spent the next hour teasing him until Samar sobered up and asked all of them to keep quiet.

"Kya baat hai, badi khamoshi hai kamre me? Aap log aaj koi hud dang nahi karne wale?" Vaidehi asked as she entered with a tray of refreshments.

"Jaise aapko pata nahi hai Rajkumariji ki hum log mahal me shaitani nahi karte." Mrigank teased her earning an angry look from her.

"Kitni baar kaha hai ki mujhe Rajkumari mat bulaya kariye aap?" she wanted to know.

"Par tum toh Rajkumari ho na, fir asuvidha kya hai iss upadhi ka prayog karne me?" Mrigank switched over to his trademark shuddh hindi mode which he used especially to tease Vaidehi.

"Oofho, fir se wahi hindi. Band kijiye isse." She made a face and handed over the refreshments to everybody.

"Parantu hindi toh humari rashtra bhasha hai rajkumari ji. Isme asuvidha kya hai?" he shot back.

"Asuvidha ye hai ki aisi bhasha ke nirantar prayog se aur koi karya ho na ho parantu iski mrityu sunishchit hai." Prithvi replied quietly.

Vaidehi looked at him in surprise for a few minutes unable to make out what he said while his friends burst out laughing. "Bhaiya, tum bhi?" she finally found her voice.

"Oofho, ab ek naya jhagda mat shuru karo tum dono. Ved, hum sabke liye zara paani laa dena." Aayush stopped the warring brother and sister in between and sent her away. "Ab batao Prithvi, kya baat hai? Tum kuch jyada hi pareshan ho. Uss ladki ki baat nahi hai ye." He said with conviction.

Prithvi looked at Aayush gratefully who with his quiet nature was a mind reader. "Tum sahi keh rahe ho Aayush. Nandini ke bare me to mai soch hi nahi raha."

"Nandini?" Arjun questioned.

"Haan, dadaji ke dost ki poti. Mai uski baat se pareshan nahi hun, kisi aur baat ko lekar pareshan hun."

"Kya baat hai Prithvi. Hame batao toh sahi."

"Darasal pichle ek saal se mai har raat ko kuch ajibogarib sapne dekh raha hun." He replied.

"Aur ek sapne se pareshan ho gaye Prithvi?"

"Pareshan hone wali baat hai Mrigank." Prithvi reasoned. "Ye sab pichle ek saal se ho raha hai. Ab aaj ki hi baat le lo." And he told his friends everything about the dream he had in the morning. He spoke quickly and just finished his monologue when Vaidehi entered with a jug of water and 5 glasses.

"Dadaji ne kaha hai ki aap charon aaj raat mahal me ruk rahe ho. Aapke ghar walon se baat ho chuki hai." And placing the tray on the table, she went out of the room.

"Chalo ye toh acha hua. Ab hum sab uss Nandini se mil sakenge." Samar commented.

"Don't pin your hopes too high. You may be in for a rude shock." Prithvi cautioned him. Samar was a casual flirt; he never meant to do any harm.

"Why? Is she betrothed to you?" Samar retorted. This comment earned him a pillow on the face. He expected Prithvi to be angry but was surprised to see him laughing. "You are laughing? Are you sure you are laughing? I thought you didn't like girls." He asked in shock.

"You have got your statistics wrong." He said.

"Then pray set me right." He was sitting on his knees in front of Prithvi.

"He doesn't like girls who drool over him, you know. It is so common. Par agar koi ladki bhaiya ko nazar andaaz kar jaye na tab dekhna chahiye." Vaidehi came into the room and took a seat behind Mrigank. Prithvi looked at her for some time and then at his friends, everyone was trying to control their laughter.

"Tab bhi mujhe koi fark nahi padega." He said matter-of-factly.

"Let's see. Nandini is surely going to be a very tough nut to crack from what I have heard just now."

"Oh! So you were busy talking about our esteemed guest." He commented.

"No need to be so caustic bhaiya. She will keep out of your way from what I have heard about her. And here I was planning to put you in a little trouble." She muttered the last sentence to herself but Mrigank heard her. He stifled a smile not intending to give her away.

"Then it is good for her."

"Actually it is good for you, isn't it Mr. High and Mighty?" And she raced out of the room.

"I don't understand, why can't she stick to one place?" Prithvi was annoyed. "Pair me pahiye bandhe hain kya?"

"Bhul jao use, chalo bagiche me ghum ke aate hain." Mrigank pulled him up. He knew Prithvi was a bit rattled right now.

"Ghum kea ate hain? Ye kaho ki bhraman karke aate hain." Arjun teased him and raced ahead with Mrigank behind him.

Prithvi smiled and shook his head at his friend's attitude. He knew something about Mrigank which others did not; except Aayush of course. In fact it was Aayush who had put him on the right track but in the present scenario he chose to keep quiet.

Prithvi found Nandini's voice to be same from the dreams... I never said that... I said he felt as if he had heard it before...😆

He called her 'Ananya...'...may be her name was Ananya in previous birth..😕 Keep guessing...Isme itna problem nahi hona chahiye mana...Jo mere TDQ ki regular reader hai... wo confused ho gayi hai iss simple si fic me...😆😲😲 I dont believe this...
