"We are just going away for two weeks...make sure that Arjun is alright when we come back or else I am going to kill you!"
"Di...it's not like the first time I am taking care of him!"
"Mac...don't remind me of the last time I left Arjun with you...I don't even know why Sanjay wants to leave our kid with you again", Mac sister looked at her husband who looked up from his newspaper and quickly looked away when he saw the angry stare.
"Di...stop scaring Jiju!! And don't worry this time I won't forget Arjun on the race track!"
Mac grabbed the cookie from the plate that was placed in front of him.
"If you...hurt my kid...or forget him anywhere this time...I am going to make it my mission to never allow you to eat again!! I am going to cut your guts out!" she took the cookie out of Mac's hand and gave him an angry stare
"Sheesh...Jiju! How did you fall in love with her?"
That was the end of Mac's conversation with his brother-in-law...because for the next 15 minutes...he was barely able to talk...and if it weren't for his nephew's arrival from school...he might have gone deaf as well.
Mac's house
"Okay, kiddo! Um...well make yourself comfortable...um...you know how it works...since we've done it before!" Mac dragged Arjun's suitcase to the guest/Arjun's room.
Arjun simply followed Mac into the room...without a word! Since the past few months, Mac had noticed this behaviour change...there was a time when Mac was Arjun's favourite...and now...he barely spoke to him.
"Um...okay...do you want something to eat?" Mac sat down on the bed while Arjun still stood by the doors. "Buddy, you okay...right?"
And as expected...Arjun did not say anything...he was about to ask him what's wrong again...when he heard the bell ring...
"Um...be right back kiddo!"
He didn't wait for a response...since he knew he wasn't going to get any...and went to open the door.

"Hey Yuvi, what are you doing here?"
"I live here!"
"Oh...damn I forgot! You got kicked out of your house!"
Yuvi did not say anything but just pushed Mac out of the way and entered the house...
"Um...Yuvi...I totally forgot! Um...I gave your room to Arjun!" Mac closed the door behind him as he walked up to Yuvi
"You gave my room away? Who in the world is Arjun?" Yuvi turned around with a scowl for an expression
"Dude...I forgot! And Arjun is my nephew!" Mac did not budge from his position...which was a few steps away from Yuvi...he didn't want to get into a physical fight with him right now
"Whatever..move him to your room!"
"The kid doesn't even talk to me!"
"I wonder why!" Yuvi turned around and walked into the kitchen for a glass of water...with Mac following him
"Yuvi...is the sarcasm necessary right now?"
"I've had a terrible day, Mac...don't start right now!"
"You're the one who has started this!"
"You gave my room away!"
"I didn't tell you to get into a fight with Naina and have her kick you out of the house!"
Before Yuvi could respond...he saw a little kid peeking from behind the kitchen pillar...
"I guess your nephew wants to speak to you!" Yuvi put on his calm face as he spoke to Mac
Mac turned around to see Arjun and was about to go talk to him...when the phone rang
"Sorry kiddo! Let me get the phone!"
Mac rushed out of the kitchen...and into the living room...where the phone was
"Are you two married?"
Yuvi looked at his soaking shirt...
"What are you talking about?"
"My parents fight like this as well...so I just thought..."
Arjun walked into the kitchen with his head low
Yuvi didn't know why but he felt a tinge of guilt toward the kid...actually he knew why...
"I am married...to someone else!"
Yuvi pulled out a chair and sat down...while Arjun sat in the chair next to him...or rather Yuvi helped him sit there. Mac was still talking on the phone...
"Who do you think he is talking to?" Arjun picked up cookie from the cookie jar which Yuvi opened up for him
"Probably...to a new girlfriend...as usual!"
"It sounds like he really likes her!"
"It always sound like he likes each of them!"
"Has he ever fallen in love?"
"Once..."
"What happened?"
"I am not too sure! I was busy with my life that I didn't pay attention to his...but..."
"But...what?"
"Forget it, kiddo! Want another cookie?"
Yuvi held out the cookie jar again...which Arjun gladly accepted a cookie from...
"Why are you living here...if you are married?" Arjun looked up at Yuvi with a curious expression
"You're just like her...curious!"
"You didn't answer my question!"
"Hm...stubborn like her as well!"
Arjun looked at Yuvi with an annoyed expression this time...which made Yuvi smile broadly...
"I miss her!"
"Then why don't you live with her?"
"It's adult talk!"
"I am not a stupid little kid!"
"But you're still a kid!"
"A kid who knows that he is not wanted!"
Yuvi was surprised and shocked at the sudden declaration coming from the little kid in front of him...
"Why do you say that?"
"I'll answer that...if you answer my question!"
Arjun gave a small smile to Yuvi...who just rolled his eyes
"Fine...I'll tell you...though you won't understand it!"
"Try me!"
"I left her because...because...we had a disagreement about having a kid!
" Yuvi looked away as he remembered his argument with Naina
Flashback
"Why can't we try for one?" Naina was sitting on the sofa...crying...
"Naina...don't emotionally blackmail me! We are not ready for one yet!"
Yuvi sat down across from Naina in frustration
"Yuvi we are not too young! We've been married for two years now!"
"Two years is not a long time...we have just promoted to senior doctors...Naina this has to be the end of this topic"
Yuvi got up and gathered his stuff to leave for his shift...when...
"This might be the end of us too then!"
"You're going to end this marriage because I don't want to have kids right now!" Yuvi turned around with an annoyed expression...he couldn't believe that his wife was actually suggesting something like that.
"I am tired of compromising, Yuvi!"
"What have you compromised on?"
"Our relationship!" she finally looked up from the carpet she was staring at...with tearful eyes
That was really the end of their conversation...Yuvi moved into Mac's apartment right after he came back from work...while Naina did not even give him a second glance...at least not when he noticed.
End of Flashback
"Before I was wondering why you both were best friends...you and that guy in the next room...but I guess I know now!"
Arjun gave Yuvi a disgusted expression.
"That guy is your uncle..."
"No, he's not!"
"What do you mean by that?"
Yuvi put down the glass of water he was holding...in case the kid said something that might make him soak his shirt for the second time.
"Why do you two hate kids?" Arjun sat aside the cookie in his hand and looked at Yuvi...with an expression that suited a kid his size...an expression of innocence and child-like
"We?"
"You and that guy!"
"I am not sure about that "guy" but I don't hate kids!"
"Then why don't you want any?"
"I am not sure...maybe..."
"Maybe?"
"Maybe I am scared..."
"Scared?"
"You're a kid...you won't understand" Yuvi looked away...ashamed...
"I can understand more than people think I can!"
Arjun put his little hand on Yuvi's chin and made him face himself...
"I know that!"
"Tell me then..."
"You're a weird kid...you know that?"
"I know that!"
"Hm...I am an orphan...not that it is anyone's fault...but what if I end up hurting...or abandoning my child?"
"It's okay! Even if you abandoned the child...somebody will be nice enough to adopt him or her. It'll be sad but that's life right?"
Arjun picked up his cookie again and started to nibble on it...slowly...
"You know a lot about being abandoned!"
"I don't know if you know...about me!"
Yuvi looked at Arjun in a shock...did he know?
"You know about...."
"I know about that guy and one of his girlfriends abandoning me when I was born...I know that Mac is my father!"
Yuvi didn't know what to say...
"But you know what...I think it is time we both confront our fears...I need to start talking to him again...and you need to go and talk to your wife...she needs you!"
Without waiting for a response...Arjun got off the chair and walked away...leaving a confused...surprised but a smiling Yuvi behind.
"Yes, it is time!" Yuvi got off his chair and left the house

"Yuvi...just because you've had bad experiences...it doesn't mean we will have them too!"

"Yes...I know the truth!"

"I am sorry, Yuvi! I was harsh! But you left me...without a goodbye!"
Mac's Room
"I didn't want to abandon you, kiddo! I tried to keep you! But my sister couldn't have a child...she needed you too!"
YuNa's House
"So...I abandon you again, Naina!"
Mac's Room
"You've always been there for me, Mac uncle! I am sorry for not speaking to you and blaming you!"
YuNa's House
"Naina...I am ready to confront my fears!"
Mac's Room
"I am not going to force myself on you...I can't be your father...that's Jiju...but we'll always be buddies!"

"Naina...you're not forcing a decision on me...I want this too!"

"Let's promise each other...we'll always be there for each other...and will talk to each other!"

Mac pulled Arjun toward him and hugged him tightly...as if to never let go!
YuNa's House
Naina got out of the hug and gave a kiss to Yuvi...
"So what are we going to name our kid? I am so excited! You know what I have already chosen what colour the room is going to be!"
"Yuvi...we need to conceive first!"
Mac's Room
"You need to tell Sneha your feelings first...sheesh...you're already naming the kids!"
"But I am in love with Sneha..."
"Mac uncle!! You've been only one date for her!!"
