Hey peeps....lol this time I am going to complete the story...it is a sad story though....so beware in advance...it's for leah!! *hug*
Burned in Love
He saw the dispensary burning in front of his eyes...this was the happiest day of his life and the saddest as well. He was one step closer to completeing his revenge but another step further in losing the only aim of his life...though he would never dare to admit it to anyone.
She couldn't believe her eyes, the dispensary was on fire....and Yuvi was just standing there...staring at it with a grim expression. He seem to be neither enjoying the scenery nor regretting it. Who was he? or rather What was he? Before she could go and confront him...she saw Dr. Shashank jumping into the burning building...she looked at Yuvi for help but he continued to stare at the fire.
He did see Dr. Shashank jump into the fire...he could have gone and helped...but why would he? He didn't tell him to jump into the fire...nor did he regret him doing so. He was about to walk away when he saw her....Naina...jumping into the same burning building.
"Oh shit! Naina! Stop!" Yuvi ran toward Naina but it was too late..she was already in there.
He looked around...for what, he didn't know! But lucky for him...he saw a girl in red standing by the fire...he couldn't see her face but he could hear her yelling "Papa"
"Hey, you!" the girl looked at Yuvi with a teary face. "Stop crying and call the fire department!"
Before Riddhima could stop the guy, he jumped into the fire. She immediately called the fire department and Sanjeevani.
Everything was on fire...Naina was having a hard time navigating toward Dr. Shashank. After every few seconds, she would yell his name out but he never responded. She continued to search and was glad that at the end it bore fruit. Dr. Shashank was on the floor, coughing badly but he was trying to gather something. By the looks of it....it looked like pictures...of who though? He looked up to meet her eyes whn she called out to him again. She was about to walk toward him...when she felt herself fainting...the last thing she heard was her name being called...by two different voices.
He got to her just as she collapsed on to the floor...she was...on fire...he couldn't think of anything and started to put out the fire using his hands...which were joined by another pair of hands.
Everything after that was a blur...he remembers calling out to her...maybe sitting in the ambulance...and BLANK.
When she woke up...all she saw was the ceiling for few minutes...she realized that she couldn't move her body and was having a hard time moving her head as well.
He had been watching her through the glass on the door for the past two days. Sid had to constantly check up on him and drag him to his house...but within an hour...Yuvi would be back by that damn door.
Naina knew that something was wrong...she felt her face wrapped in a cloth...a bandage?
He saw her waking up and trying to move herself...she couldn't! He knew why! She was not the same anymore...95% of her body was burned...he burned her...he was responsible for it. Several times a day, he would convince himself to walk into the room and check up on her...but everytime he would halt by the door. His feet refused to move beyond it...even now they refused to go in and console a crying Naina. She wasn't bawling like any other person would do...there were only silent tears...falling like precious pearls from her once joyful eyes.
Few days later
"Yuvi...Naina wants to speak to you." Sid knew what had happened at the dispensary but he couldn't figure out why Yuvi and Naina acted so distant.
For the past few days, Sid had diligently checked up on both Naina and Yuvi. One was beyond shock due to her injuries, the other...seem to have lost the drive to life. It killed him to see them like that...wasn't it enough that he was depressed...did the whole of Sanjeevani need to have the blues as well?
Before when Yuvi would just stand by the doors, looking at Naina with an expressionless face...he thought that maybe Yuvi was debating how to break up with Naina...but that couldn't be it! He knew he was wrong, though he still didn't grasp the situation fully. Maybe they just needed to talk...he was about to suggest it to both of them but before he could...Naina asked for Yuvi.
Flashback
"Is he here?" Naina knew the answer to this question...she had seen him looking at her through the glass. He was always there whenever she looked at the door...
"Who are you talking about, beautiful?" Naina gave a smile to a smiling Sid...she knew that both their smiles were full of sadness..but at least they were genuine.
"Him...can you do me a favour? Ask him to come and talk to me...please!" Sid might have imagined it but it seemed as if Naina's voice was crying....
End of flashback
Yuvi stood by the doors holding onto the handles for what seem as an eternity to others but not long enough to Yuvi. He had to talk to her....apologize to her. He wasn't afraid of going to jail...for all he cared...he would be the first one to confess. But he couldn't do it...not right away at least...he needed to talk to her before that.
She slowly opened her eyes, when she saw him enter expressionless. There were no more flirty expressions or the angry ones...there was just a face...a person without any feelings standing before her.
"Hey!" Naina tried to give her best cheerful smile to him but it might turned out wrong because suddenly Yuvi's face expressed....sadness.
"Naina...I..." Yuvi couldn't get himself to talk to her...apologize to her.
"Relax Yuvi! It's alright! I didn't die now did I?" she saw tears threatening to escape his eys...crocodile tears?
Naina waited for Yuvi to say something but he didn't...he just stood there with an expression of sadness and grief.
"Yuvi...please! Stop it! I mean these few days have been the happiest days of my life!" Yuvi looked at her in shock. "C'mon, do you even realize what all of this has done for me? I am free now! Free from my naiveness...my innocence...my proudness for my beauty! And you know what's the best part? I am never going to get married! I never have to worry about getting hitched to a dufford. Thanks Yuvi! I owe you one!" Naina smiled as if it was the lasty day she would smile.
Yuvi didn't know what to do...he tried to say something but Naina put her hand up as if to say...stop!
"Yuvi...don't worry! You saved me from my typical future...and as I said I owe you! You know how I am going to repay you? I'll free you too, Yuvi! I am going to free you from going to jail...it's another matter, though, that you will never really be free from yourself!" this time Naina did not smile, she just closed her eyes...as if to say "we are done with this conversation"
Yuvi knew that there was nothing he could do about his relationship with her...his love? He walked out of the room without turning back...but if he had turned back...he would have seen a girl wrapped in bandages...crying for him!
