Waiter pe mujhe doubt fauran ho gaya tha aur Raj ne fauran chit paa li aur yaad aa gaya ki pehle bhi mil chuki hai chit us ko. Naina ko ye bhi pata chal gaya ki Bunty Chaubey ki asli pehchaan kya hai.

Ye dono bhi har jagah eye lock me busy ho jaate hain. Chaubey ko vapas laana pada dono ko dreamland se. Ab dekhna ye hai ki in ko kitna score milta hai baaki logon ka to sahi mila hai.

And now, it was time for the most awaited couple of the evening.

BS: Ye dono kahan reh gaye. Captain Shekhawat toh kabhi der nahi karte.

Her eyes were fixed at the door.

Huda: Shayad unhe ye ehesaas ho gaya ho ki dono ek dusre ke saath…….

"bahut ache lagte hain aur isliye unhe aana chahiye." Shalini completed his sentence and simultaneously applause filled the room. Raj and Naina made a grand entry amidst loud cheering and deafening noise. The score meter completed its round awarding them 10 points each and soon RN were surrounded by gushing cadets.

Cadet1: Wow sir … what an entry. And Naina, you are looking so beautiful.

Cadet 2: yes sir, kisi film star se kum entry nahi thi aapki. And Naina aaj toh tum sabke hosh uda dogi. You are looking stunning.

Raj/Naina: Thank you so much.

Even the girls couldn't stop admiring them. Naina blushed and looked at Raj. Rajveer understood her plea and said, "Ok ok cadets, hold on a minute. Abhi toh puri shaam baki hai compliments ke liye. Give us a break." And smiling at them he laed Naina away from there to the place where BS and Shalini were waiting for them.

BS: What an entry! Kya baat hai Captain Shekhawat, aapke dhamakon ke saath entry lene ki aadat gayi nahi abhi tak?

Raj (smiling): Kya karun Sir, ye dhamake mera picha hi nahi chodte.

BS (laughing): Aap nahi sudhrenge. Hello Cadet Singh, I must say, you are the most beautiful girl in this party tonight.

Shalini: Yes cadet Singh, you are really looking stunning.

Naina: Thank you Sir, thank you ma'm.

BS (turning toward Rajveer): So now that you are here, I think we should start the ball."

Raj: Sure Sir, please go ahead.

Brigadier declared the ball to be open and led Shalini to the dance floor for the official dance. Raj meanwhile looked at Naina who smiled in affirmative. With her consent, he led her to the dance floor.

Raj also softly caught hold of Naina's hand and led her to the dance floor for the official dance. The slow music and the semi dark atmosphere were having an intoxicating effect on Rajveer as he held Naina close to himself. Naina too was feeling overwhelmed and he could see that. She looked up into his eyes and could read many unsaid emotions in them. Perhaps, it was better to start a conversation before this whole staring session descended into some sort of fiasco. He could read these thoughts as they filtered through her mind.

"Rajveer." she called him softly. "Have you seen Neelu, Aalekh's date?"

"Cadet Sahani ki behen, Neelu Sahani? Nahi to, kahan hai wo?" Tearing his gaze away from her, he looked around.

"Wahan bar ki taraf dekhiye. Aalekh ke gale me haath dalkar khadi hai aur peg pe peg udaye ja rahi hai, wahi Neelu hai."

"Toh chalen, unse mil lete hain. Waise bhi Aalekh bahut acha dikh raha hai aaj aur fir pata nahi ye music kitni der chalega."

"Don't worry Sir. Maine abhi abhi Huda ko DJ ki taraf jaate dekha hai aur agar mera andaaza sahi hai toh ye music abhi bas change hota hi hoga."

Sure enough within minutes, the slow music was replaced by a fast one due to which Brigadier Sareen left the dance floor with doctor Shalini.

"Chalen?" Rajveer asked Naina who smiled and nodded and together they went towards the bar and made their way to where Aalekh and Neelu were sitting. Raj picked up a glass and turned toward Aalekh. "Aur kitna piyenge Cadet Aalekh? Ab bas bhi kijiye."

"Arey sir, aap? Aur Naina ...... ye kya?"

Raj turned to find her sipping a drink. "Naina, are you sure about this?" he queried.

"Sure sir. Waise bhi ek do peg se kuch hone wala nahi hai. Aap fikar mat kijiye." She now turned towards Aalekh. "Aalekh, yaar tune to kamala kar diya. Huda ke rehte top scores samet liye. Bechare ki shakal dekhne layak rahi hogi."

"Par top scores to aap dono ne sameta hai Naina" Neelu said. "Aur kisi bhi couple ko full scores nahi mile hain."

"Wo toh thik hai par cadet Aalekh mujhe ye bataiye ki aap apne apne date ke saath yahan kyun baithe hain? Aap ko toh dance floor par hona chahiye."

"Jayenge na Sir, par ball ko thoda zor to pakadne dijiye. Abhi toh puri shaam baaki hai." Neelu replied.

"Apun sirf ek kaam karta hai aur wo hai peene ka, aur kuch nahi."

"Kyun, peene wala dance nahi karta hai kya?"

"Peene wala toh sirf peene ka hi kaam karta hai."

"Aur jo dono kaam kar sake wo?" Neelu asked.

But before Aalekh could reply, Rajveer who was sitting opposite to Aalekh got up from his seat. "Naina, ye dono toh apni behas karte rahenge par filhaal tum mere saath dance floor par chalo."

"Koi fayada nahi hai sir." Aalekh gulped down his drink in one breath a\before replying. "Dr. Mishra wahan bhi aapke piche piche pahunch jayengi."

"Yujhe sab kuch kaise pata chal jaata hai Aalekh?" Naina queried.

"Apun yeda nahi hai Naina. Aur ek baat aur, jahan Rajveer sir ke liye Dr. Ritu pareshani hai wahin Huda tujhe pakane wala hai. Sambhaal ke rehna."

Just then they were joined by Dr. Ritu and Huda making further talk impossible. Raj turned his face towards the bartender in an n attempt to avoid Ritu, but that woman was simply unavoidable.

"Kya baat hai captain Rajveer? Aap dance nahi kar rahe hain? Kya baat hai?" she slumped on a chair besides him and ordered a drink.

There Huda was trying his charm on Naina and failing miserably because Naina's whole attention was taken up by the situation unfolding in front of her. As usual, her face was expressionless, but when Raj looked at her, he knew that she was debating with herself whether to laugh or to be angry with Dr. Ritu.

Huda: Oye Phoolan, aaj toh tu badi khubsurat lag rahi hai.

Naina (in a bored voice): Malum hai Huda. Tujhe batane ki jarurat nahi hai.

Ritu: Aap ne mere sawaal ka jawab nahi diya captain?

Raj: Kaun sa sawaal?

Ritu: Yahi ki aap dance kyun nahi rahe hain?

Raj: Shayad mera mood nahi hai. Par aap dance kyun nahi kar rahi hain?

Ritu: Shayad isliye kyunki mera manpasand partner nahi hai.

Ritu slurred in her speech. She had drunk a lot. Raj tried to get up and go away but Ritu held his wrist. "kahan ja rahe hain Captain? Thodi der aur baithiye na mere saath. Aap humesha mujhse bhaagte kyun hain?"

Aalekh (to Neelu): Saali nautanki!!!

Neelu: Right Isse toh Ekta kapoor ke serial me vamp hona chahiye tha.

Aalekh: Bole toh who saas – bahu wale serials me?

Neelu: Haan haan wohi. Aur vamp ka matlab hai chudail. hai chudail. Ye Rajveer sir aur Naina bardash kyun kar rahe hain?

Aalekh: Kyunki Naina ko Huda pareshan kar raha hai. Par tu na dekhti ja. Apun naina ko achi tarah jaanta hai. Ab ye jatt pitne wala hai.

Aalekh was right. Huda was probably getting too much to bear.

"Tujhe pata hai Phoolan, mujhe abhi bhi lagta hai ki hum dono ek saath jyada ache lagte. Agar tu mere saath aati toh best couple ka title hume hi milta."

"Dekh Huda, jyada sapne mat dekh. Mai tere saath aati toh best couple ka toh nahi par worst couple ka title hume jarur mil jata."

"Oof!!! Tu wakai me phoolan devi hai."

"Haan hun. Aur agar shak hai to ek namuna dekh le." Saying this Naina stubbed his toe with her high heels and Huda yelped in pain. Naina meanwhile had turned towards Raj and Ritu.

Ritu (Fully drunk): Rukiye na captain, aap humesha mujhse dur kyun bhagte hain?

Raj (feeling uncomfortable): Dr. Mishra, aapne kuch jyada hi pi rakhi hai, sambhaliye apne aap ko.

Ritu (falling heavily on Raj): Par Captain, mai to ye chahti hun ki aap mujhe sambhale.

Raj managed to free himself from Ritu's grasp but she held his wrist. "Please, rukiye na captain."

"I don't think ki Captain ruk payenge ma'm." A sugary sweet voice cut in their conversations. "Aakhir inhe baaki logon se bhi toh milna hai. I think we should start moving sir."

"Sure Naina lets go." He took her hand and moved away. "And thanks for your engaging company Dr. Mishra."

They walked away hand in hand much to Neelu's amusement and Huda's anger. As for Ritu, she was too drunk to react. "Thanks for rescuing me Naina." He said after a while.

"Don't mention.Mai pehle hi aa jati par Huda se picha jo chudana pada." They both laughed. Then Naina noticed Ali and Pooja standing some distance apart talking to each other. As usual, Pooja was the one who was doing all the talking, while Ali was content with just listening to her. Naina drew Raj's attention to that hopeless pair. "Kya ye dono dance floor par nahi jayenge?" she asked dejected.

"Mujhe nahi lagta. Inhe wahan bhejna padega."

"Par kaise?"

"Ek plan hai. Tum DJ ke paas jao aur …… he whispered something to her. Naina nodded and made her way towards the DJ while Rajveer went to where Ali and Pooja were standing together.

"Kya baat hai cadet Ghai? Aap aur cadet Beig itne chup chap kyun khade hain?"

"Wo kuch nahi Sir, bas baaten kar rahe the."

"Aur kya mai jaan sakta hun ki aap log kya baaten kar rahe the." He took a step forward and unknowingly the two followed him. It was out of sheer habit. They followed Rajveer sir wherever he went. Raj grinned to himself. Talking and laughing, he tricked them on to the dance floor where Naina was waiting for him. She smiled at them.

"Finally, Ali aur Pooja dance floor par aa hi gaye?" she asked mischievously.

"Kya? Kya?" Ali stuttered. "Hum yahan kaise … matlab …"

"Cadet Beig!" Rajveer said this in a very official sort of voice. "Dekhiye, sharmane ki hadh hoti hai. Ab agar aapne sharafat se Cadet Ghai ko dance ke liye nahi pucha toh fir mai announcement karwa dunga, aur tab aapko rock dance karna padega."

"Ji!!!" Ali was thoroughly shocked, Pooja smiled and blushed at the same time while Naina was trying hard to stifle her laughter. "Ab puch bhi le na Ali." She said.

"Naina !!! Aap bhi!!!" He looked at the determination on his friend's face and then at his teacher who was smiling at him. Finally he looked at Pooja, the girl he loved so deeply and suddenly felt all his shyness vanishing away. He took her hand and led her to the dance floor. The DJ as instructed by Naina put on the song.

Pooja: Naina, tu aur Shahrukh bhi aa na. Please. Warna Ali comfortable nahi feel karega.

At this, Raj put forward his right hand and very politely, asked her. "May I have the pleasure?" Naina smiled a little and slowly gave her left palm into his outstretched right one. Her grip was shaky; he held her hand firmly and led her on to the dance floor.

Rajveer didn't want to take his eyes off Naina but knew that if he continued gazing at her, it won't give the right indication. Besides he didn't want to make Naina uncomfortable. He knew about Naina, all right but Naina was still not aware of his real identity.

"Waise Raj, aapko dance ke waqt jalne ki smell nahi aayi?" They were now sitting in a corner,sipping their drinks.

"Matlab?" Raj was confused.

"Well, jab hum log dance kar rahe the toh Huda aur Dr. Mishra piche khade dekh rahe the aur unke chehre ke expressions were just classic." She burst out laughing and Raj joined in. "Waise," she said after a while, "agar aapse ek sawaal karun toh aap bura toh nahi manenge na?"

"Nahi, bilkul nahi. Pucho."

"Sir, Dr. Mishra ka sawaal sahi tha. BS ka stage se hanta toh samajh me aata hai, par aapne dance kyun nahi kiya?"

"Kyunki mujhe bollywood ke latke jhatke pasand nahi hai Naina." He said.

Unknown to them, Huda who had been passing that way heard this and immediately his crafty mind hit upon a plan. Captain Rajveer Singh Shekhawat had dared to steal his date for the ball and had insulted him. He had dared to challenge Huda which nobody does. Now he will have to pay for this with an insult greater than what he inflicted on Cadet Huda.

The song stopped abruptly and everyone turned to look at Huda who was standing with a mike in his hand. "Dear friends, abhi thodi der pehle Rajveer sir ne hum sabke saamne pashchatya nritya ka pradarshan kiya." Everybody clapped for Rajveer. Huda continued once the clappings had subsided, "Aura b wo humare saamne modern dance prastut karenge."

Everybody cheered for Rajveer, but he was caught off guard. What the hell was cadet Huda upto? Naina was too shocked to react at first, but when Huda came near the table, she flared up. "What the hell is this Huda?" she hissed dangerously.

"Arey Phoolan, tu to muft me naraaz ho rahi hai. Maine toh sirf Rajveer ko dance ke liye request kiya hai, aur kuch nahi."

Naina: Request ya challenge???

Huda (smirking and not taking his eyes off Rajveer) Jo chahe samajh lijiye.

Rajveer slowly stood up and looked straight at Huda. Naina too inched closer to him. A lot of unsaid feelings were expressed through their eyes. Not a word passed between the three, but somehow they understood everything – challenge, acceptance and constant support. Huda moved away with a slight smile.

Aalekh: Sala ye jat apna badla nikaal raha hai.

Neelu: Hume unn dono ke paas jana chahiye.

Aalekh: Haan chal.

They went and stood a little distance away from Naina, listening to every bit of conversation taking place there.

Rajveer took a step forward, but Naina clutched him tightly. "Aap ne to kaha tha ki aapko bollywood ke latke jhatke pasand nahi?"

Raj gave a slow smile at her worried expression. "Haan, kaha tha. Toh???

"Toh phir aap ye dance kaise karenge?"

"Maine kaha tha mujhe pasand nahi hai, ye nahi kaha tha ki aata nahi hai." He smiled a bit and moved forward.

The DJ put on a song. Music began to ooze out.

Raj started swaying with the beats. The cadets were excited and started enjoying. Even Suriji was trying to do bhangra steps while Lolita ma'm was trying hard to stop him.

Raj completed a round on his heels and ended it with his fingers pointing at Naina. Ritu was standing next to Naina. She burned in jealousy.

Raj pulled Naina on to the dance floor with him and suddenly noticed that Ritu had gone pale. He understood she was angry as well as jealous. She took a step forward to join them, but stumbled and Huda had too support her. The colour of his face matched with Ritu. He was perhaps regretting the decision of challenging Rajveer.

Rajveer was surprised as Aalekh joined in. He never knew, Aalekh could dance so well.
