It happened during the time where the students had to cast a vote to save one contestant between two - the two contestants were Kirti and Gurpreet. The thing is, most Gurukul students voted for Gurpreet, and the judges and faculty found that extremely wrong, because they believed that Kirti was a much, much better student. They were under the impression that Shamit influenced everyone to vote for Gurpreet, so that they could clear the paths for themselves. That's what Javed has always been angry with Shamit about.

the thing is that there is no proof that Shamit actually influeneced the decision of other students. Anyhow the incident was quiet early on in the show. The incident that took place recently against Shamit was at a critical juncture when the contest has very few contestants left and the eviction of any has to be just.

Let us look at it this way, if Shamit in any way had a hand in Kirtis eviction that poetic justice has been done, but now that Arijit has directly casued Shamit's unfair dismissal, there has to be poetic justice in this case.

Music should be devoid of politics and the best man or woman should win. Best implies having complete virtues of being a great singer and a good human being.
