What's all this hue and cry about Shamit being a politician? How many times did he influence his peers to vote? Let me be frank – I missed this infamous episode. However, from your discussions, I presume that Shamit influenced Arijit to vote against Kirti. How many others voted against Kirti? Did SHamit influence them all…I highly doubt so!
Get this straight: A manipulator is as successful as the person he manipulates is weak. If Arijit was strong-willed he would not have gotten swayed! So why blame Shamit entirely? It was partially Arijit's fault too!
Most importantly, successful people aren't those who never make mistakes…they are those who learn from their mistakes. But while everyone is given a second chance, Shamit is being overly criticized for that one mistake. For instance, the public is willing to save Qazi 9 times from the Danger Zone with the belief that he would improve his singing. Arijit was never defamed for blindly following SHamit's 'advice'. Moreover, he is now being applauded for finally voicing his own opinions without being influenced.
Why then is SHamit not forgiven for one mistake? I have seen almost every episode after it and have never seen him manipulating anyone….doesn't that imply that he has improved his personality? Why was he then never applauded and given due credit? I recall one episode when he was extremely brotherly towards everyone….he read letters for them, offered a shoulder to cry for Arijit, and comforted Rooprekha/Arpita. I also recall him playing with Qazi and Rex….these are not qualities of a shallow person….yes, he is a little egoistic – which talented person isn't…and those who sugarcoat every word are simply fake….; yes, he disapproves of Qazi's voice….but can you really blame him? Even his fans must know that his looks and charisma are his USPs, not his voice. It's like how Madhuri Dixit will feel if she competes with Priyanka Chopra or Mallika Sherawat in a dancing contest, and the latter's' are chosen simply cuz they are sexy, although they have little dancing talent!
And if everyone believes that Kirti's career was over because of Shamit's politics, why then wasn't he chosen by the public in his second homecoming? Why did people vote for Rex? If the faculty and judges felt that the students were unfair to him the first time, why rely on public votes? Why not rest the decision on the student's shoulders and give them a chance to correct their opinion? If Arijit had developed a will-power, he would have provided a fair opinion then! And I am sure that although Shamit would not have picked Kirti, he would certainly not influence anyone again!
In short, what irks me is that everyone, especially Qazi and Arijit, are given umpteen chances to improve (their personality and talent)….however, Shamit is unfairly criticized based on one fateful episode! This is unfair!
Oh, and btw, Shamit was wrongly placed in the danger zone more than once because of Javed's grudge…I am sorry, but Javed Saab, you are one of the most egoistic Indian celebrities. Shamit's attitude during one episode is not 1/10000th of the attitude YOU have! You are immature enough to fight with the faculty in front of students, biased enough to allow your personal opinions to cloud your judgment, and rude enough to send off Shamit with the most discouraging words! I hope Shamit becomes a very successful singer, thus rendering a symbolic slap across your cheek.
Go Shamit – prove your detractors wrong. I know you have the voice for it!
