Exactly girls were in queue and I was one among them. And he too was happy😳

Mitr, I know you pushed the girl stood in front of you, all girls in line fell down & you ran to my jyeshth who was giving taaza taaza gifts to all & asked him as gift. He gave, but it was your duty to take home what you got as gift. You were afraid of the 3 shernis at our home. So you mixed sleeping pills in dinner & abducted my jyeshth away under the night's cover. But you are forgetting that you promised me that you would get me that Kalinga princess if I kept Basu bhaiya's bedroom door open in that night. Don't worry. I know how to get my investment back with inerest.😆

WHy would the P's appoint one of the murderes of their kids as tutor to their grandson. Are these the same person or was Kripacharya a title?

As per Bhagvatam Kritavarma's son was married to Krishna's daughter. That may or may not be the reason for him not being punished. The others I could think of was that he was the leader of the Bhoja tribe. After the Vrishnis (to which Krishna, Balarama, Satyaki all belonged to) Bhojas were the most powerful tribe and with the fragile Yadava unity at stake maybe they may have decided to let him go.

As it is it was Satyaki and Kritavarma's argument that started the Yadava carnage.

BTW was the Shalva who attacked Dwaraka the same guy who was defeated by Bheeshma at the Kasi swayamwar?

Thats what I want to know. He would have been as old as Bheeshma by that time, then. How was he Shishu's buddy?
1) All incidents are included in Shushupala vadha parva when really Shishupal vadh only takes a few sections. Why did DS/VH happen in that Parva?
2) It is clearly stated by Krishna that Shalwa attacked him becaus of SHishu's detah
3) In between his melodrama with DHrith, Dury clearly says that he is offended no one retaliated when G killed SHishupal

Thats why I think it was a coordinated attack. But I am left wondering which was supposed to be the main event. Was it that they were trying to kill G and were just trying to keep Ps/P away by organizing the DS? After all, loaded dice or no, they couldn't have comfortably predicted the outcome. Did events just get out of hand then? Or was DS the main event and they wanted to keep G away?

Also G, in his description of teh battle to Yudhi, says a young PRINCESS of Vrishni led the defense against Shalwa till G himself got back. Any idea who she was?

Princess?? I have no clue. From whatever Krishna explained in the Vana Parva, it seemed that it was Pradyumna who lead the defense. K and B were in IP then.

And beholding the army of Salwa, the youthful princess of the Vrishni race resolved to encounter it sallying out of the city. And, O king, Charudeshna, Samva, and the mighty warrior Pradyumna, O descendant of the Kuru race, sailed out, ascending on their chariots, and clad in mail, and decked with ornaments, with colours flying, resolved to encounter the mighty and countless host of Salwa! And Samva taking up his bows eagerly attacked on the field of battle Kshemavriddhi, the commander of Salwa's forces and his chief counsellor also! And, O thou foremost of Bharatas, the son of Jambavati then began to shower arrows in a continuous stream even as Indra showereth down rain! And, O mighty king, then Kshemavriddhi, the commander of Salwa's forces, bore that shower of arrows, immovable as the Himavat! And, O foremost of kings, Kshemavriddhi on his part, discharged at Samva mightier volley of shafts, aided by his powers of illusion! And dispersing by counter illusion that discharge inspired by illusion, Samva showered on his (adversary's) car a thousand arrows! Then pierced by the shafts on Samva and overwhelmed there with Kshemavriddhi, the commander of the hostile host, left the field by the help of his fleet-steed!

It seems the Shalwa King who fought with Krishna might not be the same one who had been defeated by Bheeshma. The one who defeated by Bheeshma must have been of his age. He seems too old to fight a war with someone born two generations later. From the words of Arjuna in Vana Parva, it appears like Krishna attacked Shalwa & destroyed his city, not the other way. Again in Drona Parva, it is mentioned Krishna attacked Saubha city of Shalwa & destroyed it. Saubha was the capital of Shalwa kingdom. Both references does not mention Shalwa's attack on Dwaraka/Krishna. Shalwa country was near to Madra, somewhere in the north-west.
