Karna's speech - A person who describes Panchali in this manner, would he actually insult her in the sabha. It doesn't sound like he harbored a grudge against her from the SV days either.

And the best part is he told those words right after Draupadi had been assaulted. Now the same Karna, who had been showerig abuses on her a moment before began praising her all of a sudden is something contradictory. And Bheema got angry hearing Karna saying Draupadi saved her husbands. Perfect example for male chauvinism.

Truth hurts, I guess 😊

I think there is a part where Yudhi asks her come to the Sabha in a single cloth, crying - I guess to get him out of the fix he is in, Wonder what Bhim's thots were on that?

And I never thought I would quote this😆. Yudhi describes Panchali's charms in the DS

"Yudhishthira said,--'With Draupadi as stake, ... Possessed of every accomplishment and compassionate and sweet-speeched, she is such a woman as a man may desire for wife i<font color="#cc0000">n respect of her fitness for the acquisition of virtue and pleasure and wealth</font>. <font color="#cc0000">Retiring to bed last and waking up first, she looketh after all down to the cowherds and the shepherds.</font> ..."

So there you go, from Yudhi and Dury, she had a talent for management and wealth. The knowledge of law and ethics, skills of diplomacy and negotiation and the stomach to order an execution, she exhibited herself.

All of Drau-Satya convo is otherwise seen in the epic, even if the convo itself was an interpolation

And this of course, from the Jyeshtest

<font color="#cc0000">"Karna said,--'We have never heard of such an act (as this one of Draupadi), performed by any of the women noted in this world for their beauty. When the sons of both Pandu and Dhritarashtra were excited with wrath, this Draupadi became unto the sons of Pandu as their salvation. Indeed the princess of Panchala, becoming as a boat unto the sons of Pandu who were sinking in a boatless ocean of distress, hath brought them in safety to the shore."</font>

This is Vidur at the beginning of exile to Yudhi, although I think 'economy' here means spending prudently (COO rather than CFO)

"Dhananjaya is ever victorious in battle; Bhimasena is the slayer of foes; Nakula is the gatherer of wealth; Sahadeva hath administrative talents,Dhaumya is the foremost of all conversant with thevedas; and the well-behaved <font color="#cc0000">Draupadi is conversant with virtue and economy".</font>

Anu...did I tell u how much I love u? 😳
Thanks for sharing all these citations...Hugs hugs hugs...
Even I was beginning to doubt her but u cleared it... 😃

Sema...now u can go n fight with those local n global scholars who claim she didnt do all of this... 😉
Its sad how people just cant look beyond that Sutaputra n Andha Ka Putra Andha comment... 😡

When Karna himself appreciates her will power n Duryodhan praises her as an ideal Grihini...wat problem do these Kaliyugis have? 😡

Jamy...in a way, it can be said that Karna taunted the Pandavas by praising Draupadi...
'Mighty' warriors could not save their wife but she in turn saved all 5, all by herself...I guess this is wat angered Bhima...
Nonetheless wat Karna said was right... 😃

Bheema actually did not understand Yudhi's plan. He was shouting when she was brought into the hall. He calmed down a bit when Arjuna told him to keep silence & what had been happening would only make then famous.

You are right. But let us also not forget Karna was the one who never told what he never felt to tell; good or bad, he never cared what others thought & always spoke what he believed as true. Such a person praising & abusing someone in same context is practically impossible unless he has split personality disorder. That is contradictiory of his own behaviour.

how many ever times the citation is posted, what is not there is not there.. name calling is not equal to taking some other husband as Ps are now like dead... he did not say nor did Krishna or Draupadi say she was asked to take more husbands coz she anyway is 'whatever that word means'.. She did not say he called me this..

Yes he lacked the strategic thinking and smartness that Yudi had.. even Dury was better off..

exactly.. just because we are not preachy and we like to discuss the story part doesnt mean we dont care about the knowledge and values to be gained.. those parts are better not discussed.. imo...
