Thing is, who was distraction and who was target?

There is one Bengali researcher who wrote in his book that Drau never did these things but she was just advicing her friend those things should be done by a woman to please own patidev.
As a Draupadi fan, I love to believe that chapter is original and not an interpolation. Because I feel her that way. She is like Mata Durga for me who can manage all these things and yes, can love her husbands too as Mata Durga finds time for Lord Shiva. This is my view. I admire her a lot.
As for VH and name calling, I can show you udyoga Parva citation where Krishna mentioned Karna's words to Draupadi. I think I posted that citation in this thread before.

Sema if seen in an unbiased way then yes...we dont exactly get to see Draupadi doing all those things...
But then if we consider she was lying or that as an interpolation, then I guess many other stuff which were never shown as incidents n described only in words can be seen as interpolation...😈

As per my knowledge, Krishna was Shalwa's main target because he wanted to revenge Shishupal's death. But yes, I too don't think it was just a coincidence. Maybe kauravas made a plan with Shalwa.
Later you know, Kritavarma the man, was requested by Duri to join his side in war. Why? Duri did not ask anybody else in Yadav camp. There was Satyaki etc all, why only Kritavarma? Because Duri knew that Kritavarma had an old clash with Krishna (remember Syamantak Mani track) so he would like to revenge on Krishna either by hurting Him or His dear Pandavas. You see, Kritavarma was involved in Abhi baby's killing, and was also involved in UP death. I think his personal revenge on Krishna was used by kauravas here. So I guess they did the same with Shalwa too in Sabha Parva.

Urmila/Amrita

She actually quite before then demonstrated her knowledge and debating skills and her maneuvering skills in the DS. She also demonstrated her persuasion skills and her spine of steel with Keechak and then later when she threatened to go to war with or without Krishna.

Her Akshaya Patra and feeding of Brahmans show her internal management skills as well.

Whether or not she dealt with finances, I haven't checked in detail. That is the only thing left from the Drau-Satya convo that was not seen else where

I think the Drau-Satya convo was probably placed there just to make certain the reader did not accidentally miss it😆

So you see Amrita, you can be unbiased and still see Panchali's awesome leadership skills elsewhere . The reason I think it's an interpolation is because Panchali never talked about herself like that elsewhere. She actually did all.of those things in the epic. As I said, I am going to be doing some reading about financial management in IP as well.

I would be the happiest person on earth if that conversation is not an interpolation...
But it would have sounded better coming from another person... 😭
And I agree Draupadi was educated n was also a great housewife...Please correct me if I am wrong but even Duryodhan had praised seeing her serving so many guests...
But I was referring to the parts where she ate after her sautans n servants had eaten...etc etc...those we dont actually get to see...

Anyway...I believe in the finance part... 😳

Thank you Anu di. Now I can argue with them who think she was lying or that chapter is an interpolation. Finance part is also true, I want to believe 😳
You see, none but Duri had to praise her management skill during Rajasuya our Empress is great!

The Akshaya Patra itself shows that, no? I see it as she made sure everyone had enough (and they had quite a contingent accompanying them), and then she ate.
It could not have been easy doing all that while criss crossing the land to the point where they even crossed into present day China at least once😆

Why wasn't Kritavarma punished after the war? He was involved in both Abhi and Up's death, why was he left scott free. I believe even Kripacharya wasn't punished. Infact I have read that he was present during Yudhi's coronation (after war) and was also involved in Parikshit's education. WHy would the P's appoint one of the murderes of their kids as tutor to their grandson. Are these the same person or was Kripacharya a title?
