"Veerakiri, der ho gai hai. Tainu ghar jaana chahie."
"Aap jaaiye Veerji, main aye kaam khatam karke ghar jaaungi. Der ho jaaegi mainu."
Ranvi shook his head in amazement, wondering if his darling sister could ever be tired or not. "Tere gharwale pareshaan ho rahe honge, Veera. Achchi baat nahi hai aye." he suggested in a little firm voice.
"Bas 1 ghanta, Veerji." Veera requested without meeting his eyes since she was too engrossed in checking the exam papers of her students.
Ranvi was about to sit with Veera until she was done with her work, but eventually he changed his decision. Smiling slightly while staring outside the window, Ranvi walked out of the room, and there he met Baldev.
"Jaa ab tu hi samhaal apni biwi ko. Meri toh nahi sun rahi." Ranvi jokingly exclaimed.
Baldev exchanged a formal smile with him and entered inside.
"Vadda der ho gaya. Ghar chal ab."
Veera looked up to hear Baldev's voice. "Tu itthe? Tainu na kal savere savere uthna hai kheto de kaam de vaaste."
"Agar tu mera itna khayal rakh sakti hai, mere vaaste kheto vich khaana laa sakti hai toh main tainu lene nahi aa sakta?" Baldev asked her with an affectionate smile. He sat in front of her and started gazing her intensely.
"Oye Baldeva, aye itna pyaar dikhaana bandh kar aur mainu apna kaam karne de." Veera sternly ordered him and flipped the paper she was checking.
Baldev rolled his eyes and walked behind her. To Veera's utter surprise, he started massaging her forehead. "Bohot thak gai hogi na, thoda aaram karle.", he said to his dearest wife in the tenderest way possible.
Veera was touched to see him taking care of her so much. She gently held his hand and pulled him in front of her. "Tainu koi pareshaani toh ho rahi na ki main aise kaam karti hoon aur---"
Baldev pressed her lips with his index finger. "Tu apne papaji ke sapne ko pura kar rahi hai toh mainu ki taqleef hogi? Mainu toh vadda khushi hota hai aur tere pe naaz bhi." he proudly said to her, making her heart filled with so much love and respect for him.
"Thank you Baldeva!" Veera hugged him instantly and closed her eyes. Baldev embraced her back. "Waise mainu ek gal das."
"Ki?" Veera questioned, still in his arms, content and relaxed.
"Agar mainu acha naa lagda toh tu kaam karna chodh deti?" Baldev mischievously asked to tease her.
"Of course not. Kaam kam kar deti tere vaaste aur ki. Tainu pata hai ki main baaki janaanio ki tarah ghar vich nahi baith sakti." Veera said, breaking the hug, and looking confidently in his eyes.
"Aye huyi na meri Sherni wali baat." Baldev joyfully exclaimed and lovingly wrapped her in his arms again. "Tu aisi hi achi lagti hai mainu. Dusro ki tarah banna bhi mat."
Moving apart, Veera went back to her job again and Baldev, pulling a chair close, sat beside her. He gazed her softly and sighed. Life had definitely turned the most beautiful one since he married his girl, his Veera.
An hour passed in this way. Veera was shocked to see Baldev in the same position as before. She widened her mouth in surprise, while he was staring at her with utmost affection. "Ghar jaa Baldev, tainu kam hai na kal savere." Veera insisted.
"Tera kaam ho gaya? Tere vaaste chai leke aata hu." Baldev stood up and left enthusiastically, even before Veera could tell him anything.
Veera shook her head in disbelief. "Pata nahi ki hai aye ladka." A shy smile crept on her lips. "Par main vaddi khush kismat hu ki mainu aye mila. Shukria rabji! Baldeva nu mere zindagi mein laane de vaaste." she thought and her smile broadened. A little later, she closed her eyes and leaned against the chair in exhaustion. "Hayo rabba! Dimaag phata jaa raha hai."
"Chai!" Baldev handed her the cup. Veera took it, sat straight and looked at him in awe. "Teri chai? Tainu bhi neend aa rahi hongi na?"
Baldev yawned and sat with her again. "Ek glass vich chai peete hai na." He said, approaching nearer and looking in her eyes intensely. Veera's cheeks were red. She looked away and took a sip from the cup.
Baldev grabbed her hand with which she was holding the cup and pulled it near. Gazing her sensuously, he took a sip from her mug and unintentionally his lips were touched with her finger. Veera looked at him and was struggling to control herself to get drown away.
"Mainu apna kaam khatam karne de." She said in a low, quiet voice and lowered her eyes. Baldev smirked. "Tainu sharam bhi aati hai?" he asked and the next moment, stood up and pulled her harshly, causing her to stand up and bump with his chest. Sliding his arm around her waist, he looked at her angelic face and started caressing her cheeks politely with his other hand.
Veera closed her eyes and clutched his leather jacket. Her heartbeats increased. "Kaam karne de---" Her sentence was interrupted by his unexpected act. He pressed his lips against hers, slowly turning it into a deep, tender-filled kiss.
Veera responded to the kiss with an equal love and desire, forgetting all her work and in fact, the entire world. They played with each other sensuously until Veera realized that it was not the right place to romance. Sadly she moved away, leaving her husband angry, but oh-so-sweetly.
"Tainu toh bas kaam ki hi parwaah hai. Mainu toh koi phikar hi nahi." Baldev snapped at her and walked to a corner, folding his arms across his chest and standing stiffly. Veera chuckled to see how he could never get mad at her, despite pretending to be so for uncountable times. Without saying anything, she cleaned up the mess on her table. "Chal kal kar lungi apna kaam. Ghar chalte hai!" she suggested, but Baldev didn't respond. He was standing at the same spot with an angry pout on his face.
Veera walked really close to him and slowly sealed his lips with hers, kissing him in a soft, loving way and as always Baldev Singh's anger flew out of the window. "Tainu ache se pata hai mainu theek kaise karna hai? Aur main bhi ullu kahika, tere pe gussa hi nahi ho paata." Baldev inwardly smacked himself for being such a love-struck husband.
Giggling, Veera was about to walk away when he grabbed her wrist and pulled her close, making her back collide with his front. She closed her eyes and gave in at last without any protest. He opened her hairs that were tied with a clip. Moving them onto her left shoulder, he pecked sweetly on her other arm. She shivered under his touch and moaned. Suddenly He moved away, surprising her. "Tu apna kaam khatam kar, warna kal aivayi jyada kaam karna hoga phir tainu." he said and sat again on the same seat.
Veera slightly chuckled and quietly she sat on her desk and opened her file again. "Paagal hai tu Baldeva! Ki karta hai, ki karna chahta hai, kuch samajh nahi aata mainu." She said in her mind and smiled, shaking her head in amazement.
"Main bhi na, gadha hu ekdum, khamaka usko der karwa dia kaam karne vich." Baldev actually ended up hitting his head for being so stupid. Just then he saw Veera getting troubled because of her hairs flying on her face every now and then due to the breeze of air.
Instantly he walked behind her and grabbed her hairs.
"Aye ki kar raha hai ab?"
"Tere baal theek kar raha hu. Tu chup chap kaam kr apna." Baldev authoratitively said.
Veera obediently listened to her adorable husband and silently started checking all the exam papers. Meanwhile, Baldev tied her hairs into a pony tail after a lot of struggling. "Ho gaya!" he excitedly exclaimed on finally succeeding to tie her hairs.
"Shukriya Baldeva!" Veera thanked him without meeting his eyes. "Tu jeep nikaal, mera kaam bas ho gaya. Aati hu abhi."
"Theek hai aaja tu!" Baldev walked out. Veera watched him until he was out of sight. She smiled gratefully and left the room in a minute, turning all lights off.
Baldev was standing outside, leaning against his jeep, and waiting for her like a perfect, devoted husband. Veera came to him. "Tere naal kuch gal karni thi." her voice was serious and emotional.
"Ki? Tu theek toh hai na?" Baldev held her arms and concernedly asked her.
Veera nodded and overwhelmed in emotions, she hugged him tight. "Vadda vadda shukriya Baldeva! Aaj agar tere saath na hota toh main apne Papaji da sapna kabhi pura naa kar paati. Tainu jitna bhi shukriya karu, kam hoga. Logon ne itne baatein sunaaye tainu phir bhi tu mere naal khadha raha, apne maa ke bhi khilaaf gaya mere vaaste."
"Achanak se aye sab---" Baldev stroked her hairs to console her. He was at a loss of words.
"Achanak se nahi, bas tainu mera itna khayaal rakhta dekh mainu ehsaas hua ki main kitni khush kismat hu ki mainu tere jaisa pati mila, jo mere vaaste apne khayaal, apne usool, sab kuch badal diya." Veera tightened her grip around him, so did he.
"Tainu dil de gehrai vich rakkha hai maine. Bohot pyaar karta hu tainu, toh tere vaaste aye sab toh karna hi tha na mainu. Aur haan log chaahe jo bhi kahe, mainu farq nahi padhta. Mainu tere pe naaz hai Veera. Vadda naaz hai!" Baldev sweetly said. Veera grinned to hear his soothing, loving words.
After sometime, they broke their hug. Baldev slowly kissed her forehead, making her close her eyes as a gesture of surrender. "Chal ab ghar!" he smilingly said to her and she happily obliged.
