Part-1.
Baldev was tired of ways of pacifying Veera..
He himself now was not sure why he was actually trying to pacify her in the first place..What did it matter to him,if she was angry at him or not on a friendly term with him..He was sick and tired of buying gifts and singing songs and writing love letters to her..
Irritated he took a long sip from his wine bottle,as he sat alone on his jeep parked by the lonely village road..For a change he had come alone,needing some time to himself..
So here he was,sitting alone by the green fields watching the sun set..His heart heavy for no reason at all..
Suddenly his two all time buddies came running out of nowhere..
"O Praji aap iththe hai..Wo..Veera..Mera matlab Parjaiji-..
[O Praji you are here..That..Veera..I mean Parjaiji-..]"Jaggi was shut up by Baldev's angry snap and dark scowl.
"Oye chup oye!Kaisi Parjaiji?!Kuch bhi bolta rehta hai!Aaj se na mainu uss..Uss Bhootni ki na koi gal sunna hai na karna hai..Samajh gaye tum dono?!
[Oh shut up!What Parjaiji?!You keep saying anything you want!From today,that..That Bhootni won't be mentioned by me nor do I want to hear about her from you two..Is it clear?!]"His stern words made his two friends exchange a strange stare between each other,which went unnoticed by Baldev.
But at Baldev's insistence they reluctantly nodded in agreement,despite looking strangely uncomfortable with the agreement..
But Jaggi tried one last time to finish what he had started saying..
"Par Praji aap ekvaar meri gaal to-..
[But Praji if you just listened to me once-..]"
"OYE CHUP OYE!!!BAAS BAUHOT SUNLIYA MAINE TUM DONO KI BAAT!Aab na main sununga,na kisi aur ko sunaunga!Bauhot mana liya..Aab aur nai!Samajhti kya hai wo apne aapko..?!Baari ayi-..

The sound of an approaching motor cycle,made him stop in mid-sentence..
Without doing it consciously his expression changed from an irritated scowl to a mesmerized one with a hint of a slight smile at the corner of his lips,as he walked forward shoving the wine bottle almost into stupefied Jaggi's face,as Balli grinned from ear to ear with a knowing cunning smile..
He walked as if in a trance to get a better look..
The motor cycle was still some distance away..But he could still see Her open locks flying the wind,as if dark clouds beckoning him to drown in them..For a change she was not wearing her helmet,and as she came nearer he could see her dark shining beautiful eyes,with those long eyelashes..Those pink glowing cheeks,even more pink due to the cold evening breeze..
Her black jacket and blue kurti,that looked so good on her...
He sighed and leaned on his bonnet,resting his head on hishands,staring mesmerized at her approaching form..
How could someone be so beautiful..?He sighed out again,as she came nearer..The soft light of the late evening made her look so ethereal that he felt he could hear..He felt he could hear soft music playing in the background and beautiful song played out of nowhere..

The sound broke his trance as simultaneously he heard snickering sound from behind him..
"BALDEVA!!!Tu aise saund ki tarha kaha ghusedh jaa raha hai?!Marna hai ki?!
[BALDEVA!!!Where are you coming charging like a bull?!Do you want to get killed?!"Veera snapped out angrily as she skidded to a stop just inches from him."Aur tum dono Kharbujo!Apne daat dikhana bandh karo!Tootpaste ki add chal rahi hai ki iththe?!Aur Gaana kiu chala rakhkha hai?!Aur wo bhi Baba Adam ki zamane ki?!
[And you two Idiots!Stop showing your teeth!Is a toothpaste commercial going on here?!And why are you listening to music here?!And that also from the era of Adam?!]"She snapped at Balli and Jaggi,and instantly the music he had been hearing stopped..
Baldev almost blushed red like a teenage girl realizing where the music actually had been coming from!
And he had been listening like a stupid love struck Romeo and going with the flow..!
He passed a lethal look at the duet ,who now avoided his eyes,looking at everywhere but him..
Veera pulled him by his jacket,stunning him both by the tug,and the feel of her hand against his arm..A warmth spread throughout his body even through the thick material of his black jacket,and peach kurta..
"..Kuch suna tune?!!
[Did you hear anything?!!]"
Baldev finally realised she had said something,and he had not heard a single word..
What was happening to him these days?!!
He gulped down a knot of unknown feelings,and stared at her blankly,not able to make head or tail of anything..
"Maine kaha kaal tu taiyaar rehna!Dekhna main kaise tujhe raang lagata hu!
[I said stay prepared tomorrow!You will see how I put colour on you!]"She smiled impishly at him,making his heart beat faster..
Baldev tried to bring back some semblance of normalcy in himself and his gone haywire emotions..And quickly pulled his arm free of her hold,careful not to touch her in the process too.
"Oye ki gaal kar rahi hai!Mainu koi raang nai lagana!Mainu ye rang wang bilkul pasand nai!
[Oye what are you saying!I won't put any colours!I don't like colours and all !]"He blabbered not realising what he was saying at all..
The other three human being present there,each sent an unbelievable expression at him,as Baldev was the most rowdy one during holi in the entire pind..
Quickly he changed his statement,fixing his collar to avoid embarrassment and look directly at any one.
"Mera matlab..Mera matlab hai ki iss baar nai lagana mainu..Koi rang wang..
[I mean..I mean I don't want it this time..To put on any colour..]"
Veera stared at him,holding his gaze for a few seconds,and Baldev again felt himself slowly getting lost in those dark pools of her eyes..
"Tainu rang to lagana parega hi..Aur wo bhi main khud lagaungi..Ye meri waada hai tujhse..
[You have to put on color..And that will also be put by me..This is my promise to you..]"She said softly,just before she kicked her motor cycle to start..
And sending him a wink,she drove away..
Let's see Veera..Who wins tomorrow..He thought to himself,as a soft smile crept to his lips,and he stared at her retreating back..
