Bertie hang in there yaar. Where else can you watch female version of Sanjeev Kapoor and knight in white in the same episode?

And our rani is way ahead of her times. Cooking healthy, low fat meals for the royal family. Going by the in depth research done by this PH, they might stick a solar powered microwave in there saying Gayu invented it to make low fat meals.πŸ˜›

She is a trend setter, very inspirational.πŸ˜› I do prefer watching sitcoms in general and this is turning into one rapidly, unintentionally though unfortunately.

yes, yes, we need to do something πŸ˜†

I think G is home-tutored by Seth and just kept reading some nationalistic & romantic literature in her local library.
@bold- it does look like a clash of so many thingsπŸ˜†

You know, i don't detect any malicious intentions from the Cvs ATM.I see and feel for a bunch of people trying to rope in people from Akshara & Swargini. I'm still in my compassionate mode.πŸ˜‰
Low fat meal -food for some reason is too much on the CVs mind.I think they need to be fed.I thought thye were hungry for TRPs, seems they are just hungry.πŸ˜†

The knight in white brought me here...and is all that is keeping me here for the the moment.. πŸ˜†

Rani Gayathri is indeed a genius...and if she does invent the solar powered microwave, she will be awarded the Amerkot Ratna or Nishan e Amerkot or whatever. Or better still, they can institute the 'Gayathri Prize' for the good wives of Amerkot πŸ˜†

Yes, indeed this is rapidly descending into the farcical zone...maybe we should watch it for the laughs now...and then collectively do a parody out here...πŸ˜†

i think, G is used to seeing her Mom& bhabhis address their husbands like that and was probably dreaming about doing that herself. Just those times
She did use Ji, when she went to ask for Sindhoor, first day after her marriage. It's more of how a commoner from those times would address & interact with her husband. Her "unka kamra" etc was found funny by the women, she had to switch to Rnaji's kamra.

Bertie- yes, the "JI" is un-royal. it is common and she is a commoner, married to her dream man,he just happens to be the ruler.IMO, Jiing banta hai.πŸ˜†
Let me see, whether i can romanticize that one, imagine, she is the only one in the whole universe who calls him JI.No Sona,no Mona. and he is the only one she calls that.

Simran, I buy your argument. She is not a royal by birth. And she probably fantasized about the 64 ways of calling him 'Ji' when she knew she was marrying him 🀣

It's just that it sounds so out of place in the context of the palace. Maybe she could just call him 'Ji' when they are alone? Sort of a compromise? Not when they have an audience though please! It sounds too gharelu...like calling a tiger 'Kitty' πŸ˜†

I still think they could go the 'honey' route in private...am sure Rana ji must have seen all the mems do it...would be good fun to watch him teach her to say 'honey' πŸ˜†

@Sush
With you on SK and Anita Raaj doing the royal swag better! Yes, Gayathri is not a royal. She is no gawar like her bhabhis though. Can't they at least do dignified if not swag?

Last night, she looked like a contestant on Master Chef. The way she looked at the faces of all the judges to gauge their approval πŸ˜†

Does it have to be this or that overdone hauteur of the previous episode? Sigh why don't they learn that less is more!

Actually, i would like to see RNj,developing a taste for more common things, like JIπŸ˜† she is a gawar ghaerul, as of y'day.

My sixth sense tells English lessons are on the cards for RaGa.Yep, Honey or Darling or whatever route in private.
Why 64? what's the significance of the number?

Info,

It is no challenge, actually. Gayatri is a simple girl. She has faith in ishwar and her pati. I understood why she said that hundreds of sahukar dialogue now..it is to say 'she is the chosen one- by God.'

More then her abilities, she is going forth with all good intentions...Ranaji is not an enemy...he is still her beloved..She is not angry that he treated her like this..she is hurt...but she understands the 'why' of it clearly now. After her father's advice not to give up, Gayatri just decided to come back in full form...just that she came in such an express speed that we got a distorted version. πŸ˜†

I hope she is clearer now..and will not get twisted again.

The outburst and pledge in the garden was a wife telling her husband she was going to stick around to her end of the bargain...and that she had full faith, he'd come around soon..because that is what she knows about the guy. She knows he is very reasonable...she just has to give him reasons to be reasonable about...she is going to do just that. So long as he doesn't get her into a really bad mood again..πŸ˜† (Waiting for the snake bite scene.πŸ˜‰)

Hello,

Don't blame you, Sush..don't blame you at all...!

Was so freaking mad last night..! I didn't sign up to watch a cookery show or one on 'Good Wives' ( no, I don't mean the Louisa .M.Alcott one..just borrowing her title to use as a phrase). There's Khana Khazana for the first and the entire gamut of saas-bahu shows that are hell bent on teaching us sanskaars for the second!

There were only two moments in the whole episode that I actually liked! One serious LoL moment was when Kunwar chachi wondered what the poor would eat since they were eating their food! Actually, the joke is lost in translation but that woman cracks me up at times! As much as she is irritating at others!

The second was the expression on Rana ji's face when Gayathri asked him how he liked the food, prefixing or was it suffixing that dreaded 'Ji! And then his grudging approval! That was cute!

That 'Ji' is so unroyal, Sush! Just not cool! I just hate it when she says it! Am sure Rana ji does it too secretly. Someday, once they are reconciled and all, hope he tells her to stop calling him that! He could teach her to call him 'Honey' maybe πŸ˜† Since it was made patently obvious to us that Gayathri is such a gawar that half the conversation at the table flies well over her head, unless it is about jeere ka tadka!

Yes, I liked the last outburst over how she had cost them the tax! It was done nicely!

But I am not able to understand characterization now! It is as if the dining table outburst never happened!

Rana ji is back to his pre SR mode, when he smiled in benign approval of her anti British stance. On Gayathri, I would rather not say frankly!

Chick, what did I tell you about the over-the- top? We saw that on ample display yesterday!

Agree with you on Laksh, Chick...the guy seems a good actor...he can do better than be embarrassed by his parents openly canoodling in his presence!

Even Rajmata was being the all approving mother-in-law, but I still get her. She is still desperately trying to sell the bahu to her son. Aakhir, pote ki muh jo deknhi hai!

Liked that part about foreign liquor and how they were adding to the British coffers. Nice touch that and just what would appeal to Rana ji! No wonder the man was smiling as he walked off! Got to give him that! However much he may dislike Gayathri, he does not put her down when she makes sense!

Again the only dialogue that I liked in the jeere ka tadka' scene was Ranaji's on being a soldier and not being able to afford the luxury of fussing over food!

The entire scene could have focused on how the food was being wasted and dumped, how she was trying to organize for its distribution to the needy, how they would have to adopt certain austerity measures in solidarity with their people and so on! She would have sounded like a Queen instead of like Sanjeev Kapoor or worse, Gopi or Akshara bahu!

If this trend continues, really wonder how long I will stick around!

P.S- I guess you are talking of the BFF and her last show, Chick?!

Bertie,
Last showsss..😳 in plural.

Sush,

Hope you got the hint. I was imagining how different actresses would have portrayed Gayatri...what each one would have to give...err..actually just one. πŸ˜‰ Purely on the technicalities, since I was not fan enough to follow JDJ.πŸ₯±

That expression on RNJ's face as she asked about the food. πŸ˜† Too cute. 😳 He loved it. Rana is such a liar.πŸ˜† Not bad, it seems! πŸ˜›

The dining table outburst and the garden pledge is as RM says it...it was between a husband and wife..πŸ˜‰...hum logon ke samajh mein nahi aayega.

They are both reasonable people. Gayatri has faith in Ranaji and Ranaji is probably willing to give her a chance to prove herself. Or this is his way of keeping a low profile to see what she actually does until diwali. Guess he cannot help finding some things about her charming..esp the way she handles his chacha clan and the money. Aww..that smile was too sweet. 😳

I found Gayatri much better in this episode...They had her toned down.

RNJ - will be better if he continues in this avatar. He is not the angry young man. But I do love it when he vents out once in a while. πŸ˜‰

With you on the Ji, Sim.
I guess she can only call him Ranaji, since that is what a king is supposed to be called. Even his mother has to add that Ji!

Ji: Isn't that how women addressed their husbands those days? What does Damayanthi call Sethji?
