"Any news Sammy..??", Raghav said excitedly getting off his chair praying that today is the day he had been waiting for , but his prayers yet again went unanswered as he saw Sammy nod his head dejectedly before lowering it..
I think you can do much better than me..
After getting the silent answer Raghav turned his face to look outside the floor to ceiling window of his cabin to hide those tears slowly forming in his eyes..
After all the lies that I made you believe
Guilt kicks in and I start to see...
"I deserve it.. I just deserve this..", he said in a croaked voice trying to fight back the tears but in the end a single tear managed to escape and fall on the photo he had been holding before Sammy entered the cabin ..
I told myself I won't miss you
But I remember
What it feels like beside you
Caressing the photo of the beautiful girl whom he called 'His World' he let those tears fall off as they somewhere soothed the throbbing pain in his heart..And Sammy saw that man who never showed his emotions openly breakdown bit by bit..
It had been two years now.. and a lot had changed.. many things except his love for her.. Except his regret for the mistakes, for the decisions he made in a spur of moment..
Raghav had promised her that after a year they would be together but he couldn't keep it and went on with his game of avenging his father's death.. and in the end he won ...but he didn't realise that at the loosing end there weren't only enemies but with them was his love..
Considering his helplessness and the situation destiny had put him in its wasn't easy to tell whose mistake it was ...but he knew ... he knew it was majorly his..
His mistake for letting his everything, his world go away.. for choosing a stupid revenge over his love.. over that one girl who supported every decision of his .. who forgave every mistake no matter how horrible it was.. even the mistake of him marrying someone else.. Of his breaking the promises he made..."
Straightening himself and keeping the photo back in his pocket Raghav walked out of his cabin and knowing that he was in need of some space Sammy too didn't budge to ask anything..
He came out of his cabin and just before he could walk away his eyes fell on the table placed just outside the cabin.. unmoved, untouched.. the place where she used to sit..

Sometimes moving nervously back & forth and most of the time putting the back of her pen in her mouth while reading some file or playing with the same pen while looking at the computer screen..
He still remebered how they shared m any beautiful moments at this same place..
"Sir..Raghav.. please leave my hand..", Kalpi said blushing trying to free her hand while looking around to see everyone engrossed in the announcement Sammy was making about the upcoming Valentine's day party..
Mischieviously looking at her he nodded in a no and stood a little bit more close effectively hiding their entwined hand behind their backs...
While everyone was busy in listening to Sammy's description of the theme etc Raghav went on with his teasing caressing Kalpi's hand and just then Kalpi saw Paakhi approaching them and with her free hand pushed him away just before Paakhi cane to stand with them...
Ignoring the third person's arrival Raghav leaned in towards her and whispered," I'll get back to you later.. specially for calling me 'Sir' again...", he said coyly and went back to his cabin..
With each passing moment it was becoming difficult for him to put up that facade which he had been holding for two long years and he dashed out of his office needing some time with himself..
While in elevator he looked at his reflection .. a contorted face with slightly red eyes filled with the tears he was trying to hold back..
The elevator doors opened as he reached the ground floor and masking his eyes with black shades he made way out of the building to his car to drive away to that place where he left Raghav... The Raghav who once lived in this 'Raghav Singhaania'.. the Raghav who was brought to life by her.. the Raghav she left...
While looking through your old box of notes
I found those pictures I took
That you were looking for
"Home..", he instructed his driver.. Pulling the photo out of his pocket he stared at it.. remembering that day they took this photo.. their first date..
"Kalpana..", Raghav muttered bit angrily before running behind her trying to catch up..
"You said na.. you liked sitting under the tree today so now you'll like this too..", Kalpi said running towards the water and on feeling the wet cool soil beneath her feet she stopped to turn and look at him..
"Si.. Raghav.. come na.. we'll go in water..", her childish excitment made him look at her dreamily..
Bending down he folded his trousers while she did the same to her chudidaar after tying her dupatta.. Kalpi held his hand and they walked where the waves met their feet..
She happily jumped up and down in the water,then bending down to splash some on him and then laughing at the faces he made..
Kalpi kept splashing water and Raghav tried to cover his face while saying between his laughter," Kalpi stop.. kalpi..", but she continued splashing the water..
Raghav then slowly started approaching her.. they weren't too far away so in two steps he was near her.. Kalpi stopped playing in the water and got up, her laughter now gone on seeing Raghav's passionate gaze on her and before she could react he pulled her close her hands on the front of his waist coat while he kept leaning close..
Just when his warm breathe teased her lips she pushed him slightly while turning away blushing hard..
He followed her to where she stood few steps away and that's when he saw a man with camera showing people some album folllowing and asking people something..
"Kalpi what's that man doing??", ??", Raghav asked out of curiousity.. Controlling her heavy breathing she turned to look where Raghav pointed..
"Oh that guy.. he's a photographer.. they click pictures and in few minutes hand over the hard copy.. ", thinking for a while she said,"I have an idea..", and she quickly pulled Raghav to the place where the photographer stood and asked him to click their pictures..
"I want to remember this day.. always..", he remembered the words she said that day..
"Thank you for insisting me on taking this photograph.. not you but atleast I have our memories..", Raghav thought before hugging the picture close to his heart while looking out of the window when the car passed by another familiar place..

The mall where their families came for their wedding shopping..
All of it was still fresh in his mind.. the way he pulled her close demanding a kiss and her blushing and placing her hand to cover her face..
Slowly removing her hand Raghav pulled her close while grabbing the purple saree from her hand.. Thanks to one of his school plays where he had to play draupadi he knew how to drape the saree..
Properly wrapping it around her waist he tugged it reducing the little remaining gap between them and that's when she opened her eyes to look into his.. her trembling lips slowly coming close while her flowery smell making the wait more difficult for him but just before they could kiss their sweet moment was rudely interrupted..
The memory made him chuckle a bit.. that panic stricken face of his lady love and her later efforts to drive him out of the room was something he really enjoyed..
"I won't demand anything ever again.. I'll never tease you, trouble you.. but please come back Kalpi.. please... I'm sorry.. sorry for listening to my mother instead of you.. I'm sorry for breaking my promise to be with you.. please give me another chance...", his thoughts were interrupted by the driver who informed him that they have reached the destination..
Opening the car door he made his way to his penthouse..

"You're going to regret this Raghav..", Sammy warned before leaving and for the first time Raghav didn't answer back coz this time Raghav knew that his best friend was right..
Just when Sammy was opened the door he heard Raghav said," Try to convince her sam..", he almost pleaded.. but this time Sammy decided that he won't be taking Raghav's side and he was more than determined to show Raghav that he was wrong..
"No..", he said curtly and walked back to where they were arguing few minutes before..
"Not today Raghav.. last time I understood that what you did.. the contract marriage with Paakhi.. it was necessary.. I understood that your mom emotionally blackmailed you into it but today.. today what you did wasn't right..
What Kalpi told you today is right.. For god's sake Raghav its been a year now.. What do you expect her to do?? wait for you for the whole life?? Wait for a person who has other priorities than her.. Noone would..
Go and tell her that you're gonna forget your past and you'll move on with her before its too late ... or.. just forget her..", Sammy said to which Raghav sharply responded.. "Yes I will.. Sammy she needs to understand that I want to punish that b*****d Sahil Kapoor for killing my father.. And if she loves me then she'll wait or.. ", he left the rest unsaid ,because though his mind replied Sammy his heart stopped him from saying the remaining words as when the words would turn to his reality he was sure he would die..
And now when it actually became his reality.. the reality that Kalpi left him ,he really died.. the only person left was a shadow of Raghav Singhaania.. a living corpse..

This place.. his home.. was special for him for he could feel her presence here.. it held many memories.. The first time after years when he enjoyed rains.. the days when he actually looked forward to returning home as he knew someone was waiting for him.. And along with love it also had witnessed their arguments..
"How much more time??", Kalpi asked while following her into his study.. "I don't know..", Raghav replied bit angrily..
He wasn't in his greatest of moods as the day's court proceedings went in favour of Kapoors.. "Raghav please.. can we talk??", Kalpi asked standing behind him placing her hand on his shoulder knowing that this gesture of hers makes him feel better..
He turned to face her and holding her hands said," I'm sorry Kalpi.. its just I'm stressed..".."I know..", Kalpi replied hugging him.. the year long of seperation had just brought them closer but now slowly she saw those distance increasing and finally she voiced it out ," Raghav..".. "Hmm..??", he asked cupping her cheeks..
"Umm.. I know.. you.. I know the case is going on and all.. and Gauri aunty is also not well but..".."Kalpi just say it.. and please just lets not take that woman's name.. ", Raghav urged her and she said it," Raghav why don't you just stop it.. Kapoors have already suffered a lot.. Their business is over.. Paakhi is totally devasted.. what else do you want??"..." A last stroke.. and then they'll regret ever messing with Raghav Singhaania..", he said, his voice dark and edgy..
"You've changed..", Kalpi said moving her hands away from his hold... "Kalpi why are you saying this?", Raghav asked.."Because the Raghav I loved would've stopped here.. he would've stopped playing with people's life..", she replied..
"No..", he said turning away and continued.. "Kalpi I don't wanna argue with you again.. because anything you'll say I'll not agree with it and in the end the argument would just keep stretching..", he again stood facing her and said," Can we please meet after this mess is sorted out..??",
For a moment Kalpana couldn't believe what she just heard.. Raghav was asking her to stay away from him?? and she repeated those words loudly," You want me to stay away from you??", Unable to answer her questions he turned away.. as difficult it was for her to hear it so was it for him to say.. He loved her too much to hurt her and he knew that more they remained close during this stressful phase of his life more their love would be tested.. they already had argued a lot over the same topic of Kapoors and he just couldn't afford to lose her.. so hoping that this bitter medicine of staying away for a little more time will bore sweet effects in future he just nodded his head..
And few days later he got a text," I'm leaving..", that's all she said..
The day was the verdict day.. Raghav had to be present as he was still left to give his final testimony..
On one side was his love..on other peace for his father's soul .. and Raghav chose the latter..He tried to convince Sammy to explain her but this time Sammy didn't help him..
The bed I'm lying in is getting colder

She left... And never came back...
He searched for her.. he kept searching and his hopes rose when he got a news that she was in Mumbai for a business seminar representing her company.. but then his attempt to find her as always failed..
He left her alone for his goals.. and now after achieving all his goals he was alone.. 'A lonely soul filled with regrets waiting to die alone..' (Inception dialogue 😉 )

Alone yet with her memories.. And he knew this was what he deserved.. Loneliness.. and she deserved.. Happiness..
She deserved someone who won't hurt her.. someone who won't complicate her life..She deserved someone much better than him..
"Raghav..", the voice he craved to hear called out to him and when he looked up he saw the same angelic face staring him standing at the threshold ..
Unknown to him someone had seen him in his office building when he left the elevator teary-eyed.. And that someone had followed him here..
Kalpana got to know that someone was enquiring about her at the seminar and luckily the person (Sammy) was asking one of Kalpi's close friend and colleague.. She didn't tell Sammy anything about Kalpana Jadhav and after her friend described the person Kalpi knew it was Sammy..
Coincidentally she had some work in the building where Raghav's office was situated.. At first she thought she won't meet him but fate had other plans..
His disheaveled state forced her to follow him and Raghav's security too allowed her as they knew her..
He blinked his eyes to make sure this wasn't a dream and she walked to where he was sitting on the floor holding their photo, his red eyes showing how much he suffered telling her that he loved her , loves her more than anyone ever did, ever will..
And finally the pain of separation ended as he got his life back.. his world was with him now.. secure in his arms , held like a very precious jewel and he promised her that he would be that person whom she deserved..
