Today morning had not started well for Kalpi. At the time she was about to leave for office, Pakhi walked into her house with her excited Kamla Maa shout. She really hated Pakhi's new sense of style, with her jangling bangles, sindoor and her over ornamented sarees. It always reminded her of her own failures. It reminded her of her own Sindoor, which could not adorn her forehead. The pain in her heart was very palpable when she saw Pakhi. She wished that Pakhi would not come to her house when she was here. Her mom hugged Pakhi. He mom offered Pakhi tea and Pakhi said, "Kamla Maa, how could ask me to eat or drink anything today. You know I am doing a Solah Somwaar Vrat(Fast for 16 Mondays) today , to get my husband to accept me. You are the one who told me to do it, so that Raghav becomes mine forever. I am just coming from the temple and came in just to see you. " Kamla looked at Kalpi but she could not see any remorse in her mother's face. She seemed to say, "Raghav is Pakhi's and will be hers only".

Kalpi ran out of her house. Her mom called out," Nashta nahi khaya Kalpi, tiffin bhi nahi liya". Kalpi did not look back.

Kalpi was just walking out of a client's office. The meeting was very successful and it relieved the pain in her heart a bit. She was reading her mails on her phone and was not looking where she was going. Suddenly she banged into a hard body and was caught up in 2 strong arms. She looked up and found herself looking into the deep brown eyes of Raghav. Both were surprised because it was over 4 months they had not seen each other. Raghav had spied on her a couple of times and watched her surreptitiously but never talked to her. Both of them could not speak and just looked at each other. Suddenly Raghav broke their trance and called her name "Kalpi". There was a wealth of longing and pain in that single word. It broke Kalpi completely and she began sobbing and ran away from there. She got into the car and asked the driver to take her to office. Raghav was so taken aback that he could just keep staring at her retreating back.

Kalpi had tried to control her sobs in the car, but as soon as she walked into the office, she went to the washroom and cried her heart out. She realized that she still was an emotional fool and would never get over Raghav. She thought again of the beautiful life that had envisaged and cried some more. She was all cried out and she washed her face and made up her eyes and put on a little lipstick and hoped that no one would notice. Her eyes were red-rimmed, but she would put explain it as being due to a sleepless night because of work. She practiced a plastic smile in front of mirror and plastered it onto her face.

She received a message on the phone and was looking down while she opened the door to marketing department. She walked bang into Vihaan Malhotra who himself was looking into his phone. Somehow their legs entangled and Kalpi felt herself falling down. Waiting to hit the hard ground she closed her eyes and suddenly she found a strong arm encircling her waist and supporting her. She slowly opened her eyes and suddenly she was looking into the deep caramel coloured eyes of Vihaan Malhotra. Both of them kept staring at each other. Vihaan was completely tantalized by the slow opening of her beautiful eyes. His gaze went down to her beautiful lips and he had a sudden urge to kiss her crazily. Suddenly she started struggling in his arms. "Please let me go, I am alright. I am really sorry, I was not looking where I was going and thanks for saving me from a bad fall", Kalpi said in a small voice. He reluctantly let her go and was shocked to feel a sense of loss as her body drew away from him. He hated the fact that he had lost control and he lashed out her."Silly girl, do you always bang into people and places where you are not welcome or not wanted".

All the pain of the day just overwhelmed her at that moment and her dark eyes were filled with water. It was as if a cloud had descended over her beautiful face. She ran of from there and closed her cabin door. Her colleague sharing her cabin was on leave and she was all alone. She broke down completely. Vihaan's talk was the last straw which broke the camel's back.

In the meanwhile, Vihaan was totally shocked. He never expected this reaction from her. The girl who he had met the 1^st time was not this vulnerable, innocent Bambi like creature. The girl he had met previously was a spitfire who gave as well as she got. She was a tigress. These 2 different Avatars of the same girl caught him by surprise. He knew his words could not have caused this reaction, but he still felt like a complete jerk. He had never felt so bad about making any girl cry. He had lots of girls crying, when their relationship ended, even though he had not promised them anything. He had never felt any sympathy or empathy towards them and most of the times; an expensive parting gift went a good way in easing their pain. But this was different, her pain was different. This child-woman was affecting him too much. All he wanted to do was gather her in his arms and take away her pain. He had never felt so conflicted, he wanted to break her at the same time he wanted to be the one to glue back the pieces of her broken heart. He followed her, but saw that she had locked the cabin. He left from there. He finally decided that keeping away from her was the best thing he could do for her and for himself.
