Part 21
"You?!"
"Yes me, but that's besides the point. You're blind and roaming beaches can't be safe for you!"
"First off, I recognized you so easily. That should be a clear signal that I am not blind," Kalpana said out of pure annoyance.
The guy's face lightened up. "Really?" He grinned and pulled her into an embrace. Kalpana was startled for a few moments before she pulled back. "Sorry, but do I know you?"
Her face was burning slightly and she felt like she knew the guy.
"No," the guy answered. "I'm Ra," he extended his hand to me.
I eyed him suspiciously and shook his hand. "Kalpana. Kalpana Jadhav."
With nothing left to say, we both parted ways.

"Loser, why didn't you tell me about her?" Raghav hollered at Prem. "Good for nothing employee!"
"For goodness sake, I didn't get time!" Prem whined. "Besides, get a grip. What do you think that girl is gonna do? Accept you after all that you've done. Sorry boss-" he added, when Raghav him a look.
"Then what are you here for, then?" Raghav demanded. "I thought you were the love guru of our office!"
"I am!" Prem said, defensively.
"Then go back there. Don't let the girls know about me, okay? I'll show up tonight."
"Why?" Prem asked, grinning at me.
I smacked him on the head. "Just do what you're told!"
~
Prem looked around to make sure that no one was around before he extended the ladder down from the deck. It was unsafe for Raghav to sneak into the house from the front.
Raghav's black shirt glistened as he climbed up. Prem noticed this and was impressed. "Boss has got some style, you gotta say."
Once he got up, he asked Prem where Kalpi's room was. Prem was confused. "What do you wanna know that for! Besides, Kalpi always comes out here before she goes to sleep. Wait for her here!"
"Chamcha," Raghav mumbled, but agreed to wait.
~
Kalpana was gazing at the stars, when Raghav snuck up from behind and covered her eyes with his hands.
Kalpana felt his hands. "Raghav?" She pulled away and turned around.
A breeze blew against her face and she blinked a couple of times. There stood Ra, in a cool black shirt. He had a soft grin on his face as he looked into her eyes. She had to suppress her smile as she reminded herself not to behave so girly.
"Ra?" she asked.
"Yeah, it's me!" he answered coolly. "I thought oh, it's not safe for you to roam around the balcony. Thus I'm here!"
"What? You my secret angel or something?" Kalpana joked. "Seriously though, jokes apart. Are you stalking me?"
"Kinda," Ra said smiling at her.
Kalpana grinned. "You're a stranger."
"Am I?" Raghav asked. Kalpana looked deep into his eyes. Slowly, she nodded.
"What are you here for? What do you want from me, seriously?" she asked him. 'I'm a boring workaholic' she thought. 'What can a cool dude want from me'?
"I just want to look at your for a few minutes that's all," Raghav answered. He turned her around to face the moonlight. "There," he said, as her face shone.
Kalpana looked at his face, a small pain inside of her heart. She shoved away a feeling of.. something she didn't want to admit.
"Go now," Kalpi said. "You've bothered me plenty for today."
"Okay," Ra said. "But I will come back. Tomorrow."
"We're strangers!" Kalpana shouted.
"We won't be no more," Raghav said, winking. "You will get to know me, vice versa."
She looked on as Raghav waved at her and flung his leg onto the ladder.
"I'll come back. Same time tomorrow," he told her, before vanishing into the darkness.
...
Prem came around a couple minutes later, a mischievous look on his face. "Were you talking to someone, Kalpi?" he pretended to ask innocently. He sipped from a glass of milk shake.
"No!" Kalpi said, surprised. "Not at all. Why are boys always jumping to conclusions? Nah.." she shook her head, as she laughed embarrassedly.
She gave him a small smile and left from there.
"Laugh all you want, bhabi" Prem spoke to himself. "Admit it. You're like the rest of the girls too. You've a heart and you also like receiving attention." "Besides, Raghav is no random guy."
"So you've started keeping things too eh?" he laughed to himself, remembering Kalpi's innocent tactics at covering up the situation.
"Earlier, I was afraid for Raghav bro. But now I actually think he has a chance."
...
That night, neither Raghav or Kalpi slept. All they could think of was whether the time had come. For them to fall in love finally, with a person who would understand them.
What they didn't understand was that sometimes, love is unseen.
