Epilogue
Eternal Soulmates by Lisa Teller
You are the one,
with whom I'm destined to be,
across space and time,
you are drawn to me,
One love, one life, we are destined to be,
soulmates forever throughout eternity,
In past lives I have loved you,
In this life I love you too,
And I know if I shall live again,
I am destined to love you,
across space and time, you are drawn to me,
One love, one life, we are destined to be,
Soulmates forever throughout eternity,
I know I'll always find you where ever you are,
No matter the consequence,
No matter how far,
Even in death I shall love you more,
to fuel my search to find you,
so we shall love once more,
across space and time, you are drawn to me
One love, one life, we are destined to be,
Soulmates forever throughout eternity.
Rohan Singhania, a 49 year old business executive towering and illustrious just like his dad was waiting at the airport to receive his little sister Kyra and her family.
Kyra Raizada, 47 years old architect by profession was married to Shashank Raizada, the only son of Mr and Mrs Samar Raizada .She held chubby petite Riya, her 3 month old granddaughter in her arms as she walked out looking for her elder brother. She was accompanied by her husband, daughter and son in law - Anushka and Rahul.
I can't wait to see the amazing couple. Last time when I met them, they still acted like teenagers totally in love with each other' Anushka said reminiscing about her grandparents.
The entire family had decided to come over to Mumbai to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary for the soulmates madly in love -Raghav and Kalpi.
Kyra felt nostalgic like always whenever she came home from US. She had shifted to US after her marriage with Shashank but felt at home only in Mumbai. She tried to visit India almost once a year because she missed spending time with her parents and his protective big brother.
She burst out crying as soon as she saw her brother and ran and hugged him. She felt sorry of not being able to visit her dad when he suffered a minor stroke few months back as her daughter's delivery was due during that time. Rohan hugged her back tightly and assured her that everything was fine.
Our dad is the strongest. He can fight every hindrance just to be with Mom' Rohan said tearfully cupping Kyra's face.
Kyra knew that his brother was saying the truth. Past one year had been very difficult for Raghav because Kalpi was suffering from Alzheimer's. She failed to recognize anyone but at certain moments would identify only Raghav. Each day Raghav would sit next to her holding her hand and telling her stories of their love and at times she would recall everything. Raghav would always get excited but the next day it would be a blank slate all over again.
He is an amazing husband who loves his wife infinitely. He has been so patient with mom's disease. He never gives up on mom. The stroke did create a ruckus but he will recover soon. Mumma sometimes calls me Raghav' when I go to meet her. I guess I resemble dad a lot.' Rohan filled up Kyra with the ongoing of the past few months.
'I sometimes feel sorry for them Kyra' Rohan said tearfully unable to control his emotions.
'Do not feel sorry for them Bhaiya. Even if Mumma does not recognise him I am cent percent sure that her heart and soul knows that Dad is constantly with her. Anyways, he got discharged from hospital today and we will try and make up for the time' She added. Kyra was just as mature as Kalpi and cherished her parents love for each other.
They arrived at home and were directed by Rohan's wife to Raghav and Kalpi's bedroom.
Kalpi just stared blankly and rocked gently sitting next to Raghav's bed. Raghav had just gained conscious from the drug effect. Kyra rushed to her dad and hugged him gently and kissed his cheeks. Dad you look so handsome' Kyra said to which Raghav smiled faintly and squeezed her princess hand.
Kyra could not help noticing her mom. She was the prettiest woman on the planet but Alzheimer's had certainly taken away the spirit and zest from her eyes. Kalpi who has busy staring at the ceiling was now looking at Kyra and Raghav but failed to recognize her.
She could not handle the fact that her mother who never forgets even minute details of her life was now unable to recognize her. He mother had always been there for her - be it any little event right from her childhood to till date, but today she could not even remember her name.
She will recognize you. Give my sweetheart some time Princess' Raghav said to lighten up the mood and looked at kalpi with a little tear flowing from the corner of his eye.
Rohan knew that the single tear in his dad's eye was just the tip of the iceberg. His dad was hurting, probably much more than anyone could see on the outside. He was determined to return the passion and keenness into their lives and wanted them to enjoy their 50 years of togetherness with each other.
Raghav intertwined his fingers with Kalpi and helped her to get up from the chair. As soon as their hands met, everyone saw them stir and look at each other. They stood there staring at each other, hand in hand. The kids smiled memorizing how they could never ever come between their romances- be it anything their dad always made sure to spend quality time with their mother.
Kyra sat next to her parents and started reading her mother's dairy that she managed to dig out from her dad's drawer while the others were busy decorating the house for the celebration. She knew that the dairy was her parent's most prized possession. Though Kalpi had stopped writing in it a few years ago but Raghav always kept a note to pen down their romantic incidents everyday.
Kyra's made the two love birds sit close to each other, holding hands and looking at each other. Her therapy did wonders for Kalpi. Kalpi would smile, give expressions and squeeze Raghav's hand as she remembered those instances. She even cuddled and played with her little great granddaughter while listening to her love story once again.
By evening the entire house was bustling with activity. Raghav and Kalpi were made to wear their wedding attire. Though Kalpi was silent because of her sketchy memory, she caressed Raghav's sherwani as if trying to reassure him that she remembers this attire.
Raghav never let go off her hand during the entire celebration. She still had the same glow on her face as on their wedding night. He was too mesmerized by her beauty and behaved in his usual romantic self even in the presence of his grandkids.
The family clicked lots of photographs. They sang for their parents and showered them with lots of love.
Finally it was the cake cutting time when Raghav pulled her closer and demanded her his anniversary kiss'. Kalpi lowered her eyes due to shyness while the kids clapped and cheered for the duo.
She closed her eyes and brought her lips close to his. Raghav could not control and went forward to capture her luscious lips in the same way as their first kiss. There was a silence in the hall while the interminable kiss continued.
Everyone was enjoying the aww moment when suddenly Raghav's arm around Kalpi's waist fell limp as she slumped a little and fell on Raghav's shoulder. Everyone rushed towards them in a panicky mode.
Kyra recalled what her dad had written in the dairy about promising her mother that he would die if he had to spend his life without her.
The kids stood there, too stunned to say anything.
It did not matter who went first. They knew that their parents were meant to be together always. They were even together when death knocked on their door -THEY BELONGED TO EACH OTHER IN LIFE AND IN DEATH.
The End
Sorry guys I did not focus on any side characters in the last two parts. After reading about the twitter thingy it is difficult for me to relate to any other character except for RagNa (just my opinion and no offence to anyone). So I just dedicated the last two chapter to our beloved RagNa and their eternal love story. Last but not the least a big thank you for all your appreciation and love π
Awesome last part and super beautiful epilogue..πππ
