Chapter 13

At night Kamla sat down with weeping Kalpi and stroked her head and back gently. You still love him a lot, right?' Kamla said. OK. Let me see! I will talk to Vitthal and Gauri Tai' she added.

Two days had passed and Kalpi was yearning to see Raghav. Though others had informed her that Raghav was fine now but she wanted to see him. Kamla could not see Kalpi distressed and called up Gauri to ask her if she could get Kalpi along.

Kamla what's there to ask in it? Get Kalpi along if she wants to come' Gauri replied

Mom!I do not want to meet anybody today. Please do not disturb me' Raghav shouted.

Kamla heard his angry voice but Gauri assured her to bring Kalpi with her. Kalpi was unaware about the telephonic conversation details and calmed down that finally she would be able to see him.

Though Raghav had instructed her mother that he doesn't want to meet anybody but Gauri still had not given up on the two lovers. She held her hand and took her to his room. Raghav was sitting on his plush bed with his right hand hanging from his shoulder in a plaster cast. There was a big bandage on his head. He looked morose and dejected. He was trying to read the newspaper but his mind was wandering somewhere else. He appeared like a man who had lost all hopes of happiness.

Look Raghav who is here to meet you' Gauri said trying to gain Raghav's attention. Raghav looked at Kalpi and then glanced away. His face was expressionless. Gauri led Kalpi to the bed and drew a chair upto it and asked her to sit down. Soon Gauri left the room so that the two lovers could solve their issues.

Kalpi cleared her throat Raghav' she almost whispered as she was calling him by his name after so long. Raghav, how are you now?'

I am fine' he replied with no emotions in his voice. Kalpi tried to hesitantly put out a hand towards him and continued I am sorry. I failed to understand you.' Raghav was still unresponsive and just managed to see its ok' like a robot mouthing metallic replies.

Tears started rolling down her cheeks and she tried explaining him that she was at fault too. She tried to reach for his hand but he flinched and removed it from her reach. Gauri came back into the room to realise that matters were still not showing any signs of improvement. The duo were still not ready to reconcile.

She knew this was the perfect moment to get them close but knew both will not keep their ego aside. She feared that if the mess is not cleared today then they might not be able to come close again. She shook her head hopelessly and suddenly a perfect plan invaded her mind.

A devilish glim appeared in her eyes and she ordered Kalpi to leave as she had seen Raghav and plus their conversation was also over. She reminded her that Kamla is waiting for her downstairs. She looked at Raghav's face furtively to see his reaction but he sat there unresponsive. Raghav turned away his face from Gauri's perceptive eyes.

Kalpi got up weeping and was moving towards the door in dismay and thinking about all her precious moments with Raghav. As she went close to the door lost in her thoughts Gauri intentionally tried to trip Kalpi and quickly left the room. Kalpi fell heavily on the door. She cried out in shock and pain. She landed with a THUD near the closet.

Kalpi' Raghav jumped out of his bed and rushed towards her. He reached her in a flasha dn bent over her sprawling form Kalpi. Are you ok? Did you hurt yourself?' he asked with a worry on his face.

Kalpi moaned in pain and tried to get up but she had hurt her leg and pain. Raghav was frantic with worry and yelled Tell me what it is? Where is it paining?'

He squatted down and tried picked her up with his left hand. Kalpi suddenly reached up and looped her hands around his neck. I love you Raghav' she said as soon as he made her sit on the bed. He sat down on the floor with his head on her lap and hugged her from the waist and whispered Really?'

Yes' she whispered back, her lips twitching in a smile at him. He touched her face and asked' So have you forgiven me?'

She just nodded in reply. They both caressed each other's wet cheeks in response. Raghav wiped her tears and promised her that he would never let her cry again. He will give her all the happiness in the world. Her eyes will only reflect their love and no tears.

She smiled through her tears. Raghav caressed her lips and she closed her eyes in bliss. Without wasting another second he leaned forward and joined her lips to his in a sweet tender kiss. They both got lost in each other and in the love they had almost lost and found again.
