Chapter 11 b

They halted for eating lunch. The restaurant was on the other side of the street. Everyone was carefully crossing the road except for Kalpi who was lost in her own thoughts. A car was approaching down the road, heading towards her. Raghav leaped and pulled her towards him, holding her tightly in his arms. Kalpi struggled to free herself, shocked and trembling violently. The car passed them with a loud honk, warning Kalpi of her near accident.

DAMN IT!! Do YOU WANT TO KILL YOURSELF? WHY ARE YOU SO STUBBORN? Raghav blasted her, holding her squirming body tightly.

LEAVE ME! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO LECTURE ME!! EVEN IF I DIE WHY WILL YOU BE BOTHERED??' she yelled and screamed at him, twisting wildly in his strong muscular arms in a futile attempt to escape. Her heart beat wildly making her breathless and aware and angrier at her weakness towards him.

Ignoring her protest Raghav picked her up in his arms and carried her across the street and deposited her on the other side pavement in front of the restaurant.

DONE! Now tell me what you were saying. Why shouldn't I be bothered about your life? I LOVE YOU KALPI. I always have and I always will. You are blinded by the past events and that is why you cannot see the depth of my love for you. I am the most unfortunate person in the whole world because I have lost you forever. He said and left with moist eyes. She just stood there crying and trembling in reaction.

Sleep was a rare commodity for the lonely souls that night. Kalpi turned restlessly on her bed. She could still feel his muscular arms wrapped around her and smell his essence on her. Tears soaked her pillow as the painful memories returned. She hated herself for weakening at his touch. Nevertheless, both her close encounters with Raghav were breaking her resolve to stay indifferent to him. She kept tossing and turning in the bed remembering their sweet, passionate moments shedding tears for the love she had lost. It was for the first time in these 5 years where she had tears because she has lost him and not because he betrayed her.

Raghav smiled to himself in dark remembering their closeness. She felt so soft and pliant. Her sweet scent still lingered in his breaths. He ached to hold her again. He got up his bed and stared at the moon and prayed for their relationship. Raghav heard his phone vibrate and saw the message. He froze. As if an answer to his prayer, she had texted him to meet her in half an hour.
