@bold: Absolutely! Kalpi trusted Raghav with everything and he broke her heart. Actually I want Kamla to slap Raghav because he was the one who said he wouldn't marry Kalpi under any circumstances and promised to keep Kalpi happy. Now he has ruined the lives of both her daughters!

Aw, thanks! I am a sucker for a strong female lead and shows that are not only about romance. I really love the way they have constructed Kalpi's, and even Kamla's characters on EMA. In fact, Kamla and Vitthal's relationship is by far one of my favorite aspects of the show.

I know what you mean about hopes dying slowly. They build Raghav and Kalpi's romance up for so long and so convincingly, they put so many obstacles in its way that it seemed like they had to get married after it all. But for all of that, I think they made the better decision story-wise if Raghav does end up trapped into this thing (let's not call it a marriage) with Pakhi. There's more left to explore then.

I am crossing my fingers for all the answers to your questions to be YES, YES, YES! 😆 Each of the characters have to go through much more pain and turmoil for the story to move forward in a way that continues to be gripping for viewers. I hope they take this opportunity to tell a good story!

I think you raise an interesting point about Kamla and Pakhi. What I have come to understand is that the difference in the way Kamla treated Pakhi and Kalpi was not out of a difference in love but a difference in expectations. For Pakhi, she was just performing a duty and making sure the girl did not turn out like her parents, that is, had some basic human decency and integrity. We can see that she succeeded that much in the difference between Prem and Pakhi. While Prem is an entitled, alcoholic good-for-nothing, Pakhi is among the top in her college and is a genuinely sweet girl, if a little clueless.

Kamla had much stronger expectations of Kalpi because she was her own daughter, whom she was free to mould in any way she chose. And she wanted to make her strong, beyond any manipulations that rich people might try on her. That was actually the justification for sending her to the hostile. Kamla could see that she herself was becoming a weakness for Kalpi and a reason for the latter to bow down in front of the Kapoors, which was the one thing she didn't want.

Am I saying that Kamla has been the perfect mother for Kalpi or Pakhi? NO! But she did her best with the resources that she had. I think it is only now that Kamla is going to realize the mistakes she made with Pakhi, especially. She didn't make her strong and sensible like she made Kalpi which is why Pakhi was ready to marry Raghav, just on the basis of her own conjecture that he was in love with her. Kalpi on the other hand, even when she knew Raghav loved her, waited to tell her parents until she knew that he was worthy of her and them.

At least that's how I hope it plays out, as a moment of realization for Kamla, that Pakhi is the one who needs work, not Kalpi.

About the TRPs, I see what you are saying but it could go either way. If they make the story strong from here, it will actually rise because the Raghav-Kalpi tension will be kept intact (In Ekta style). If you ask me, they should show a business rivalry between Raghav and Kalpi! 😉

Hardcore Kalpi, yes! I missed her so much and as much as I enjoyed the romance, I would actually get angry every time Raghav dragged Kalpi away from the office. I mean, he has already had the chance to prove himself, to make a name. Now it is supposed to be Kalpi's turn!

@Bold: I actually watched the first few post-leap episodes after I started watching the show and that moment especially, when Kalpi claims that she is a buyer, *sigh* I fell in love all over again and regretted the loss of that crazy, angst-ridden, consumed-with-revenge Kalpi to this love-struck, shy-shy one. One way they could have gone is to make this an issue in the Raghav-Kalpi marriage, but I think this way is better. More possibilities.

I love your idea of a leap, btw. A montage that shows Kalpi gaining new heights at a different company (i.e. making many power point presentations to a wonderstruck audience, shaking hands, signing papers), a caption that says 6 months later, and BAM Kalpi in a powersuit enters with her entourage to some electric guitar music... Kamla's tiffin in hand, of course! Loving it!

If we were talking about real life I would be in total agreement with you. Total agreement. Having support does not make you weak and of course women can chase their dreams even after marriage, given that they have a supportive spouse and family.

What my post was mainly concerned with though, is the storytelling aspect, for which it is wiser to keep Kalpi and Raghav apart for as long as possible. Unfortunately happy people don't make for very interesting viewing and it is undeniable that once two leads are married, it becomes harder and harder to sustain drama on a TV show. The audience wants to see them happy but happy also gets boring and it either goes into mindless comedy or contrived misunderstandings. Also, the couple becomes all the audience wants to see and that becomes taxing for the lead actors.

I am pretty sure Raghav and Kalpi are endgame; there is just more story to tell before they get there. What we have to hope is that the channel doesn't interfere in the story's logical path.

My biggest problem with the whole thing is - as a woman myself we automatically fall in love with the female lead - her character is built that way and I totally agree that kalpi needs to get her ema on her own - but I ve always wondered what her ema was - the minute she realised she's in love with raghav he really did become her ema
Anyways coming back to my problem - I've never liked a male lead so much in a tv show and ashish has done such a fabulous job on breathing life into raghav singhania - he is such an atypical male lead and I m simply in love with him
There can be no reason in the world for him to marry pakhi
- he doesn't like his mom
- he could care less what happens to her at the moment
- he knows vitthal didn't kill his dad
If they come up with kamala a dialogue that he dumped kalpi to make her stronger I would be terribly disappointed
Anyways I'm a raghav fan more than kalpi actually and it would be do suicidal to butcher his character like this -still Beleive it's ragna on Monday - let's see what's in store :)

Thanks for liking the analysis! I am totally with you on the mistake the CVs committed here. Since Feb. they have been pitching a totally Mills and Boone love story with little focus on the main plot of the show. But, maybe it's just me, I never thought that Raghav was Kalpi's EMA. I always thought that that was still her and Kamla's dream to see her become a memsahib and achieve great things professionally, which is what she has been working for her whole life. I kind of just thought she would aim to achieve it along with her marriage to Raghav.

I totally love Raghav too, but just as I have been missing the old Kalpi, I have also been missing the old Raghav. Lover-boy Raghav is adorable no doubt, but in many ways I felt like he was just brushing a lot of his issues aside in his obsession with Kalpi. He kept saying she was going to change him which made me feel like he saw her as the "cure" to his bitterness. That in itself for me was a red flag in their relationship. Like I said, I think they have a little way to go before they are ideal companions for one another.

As for Raghav and his mother, from what I understood, he wants to hate her but actually ends up missing her all the time. If he found out that she had lost her memory and that she was staying with the Jadavs all this time, I can see how the Kapoors could spin that to reflect negatively on Kalpi and her family.

Boy will I feel stupid if this whole Raghav-Pakhi marriage thing turns out to be a hoax! 😆

Comming to Kalpi..
Well I do want her to achieve her EMA... And never consider Raghav to be her EMA...Kalpi has always been a fighter...with dignity...and how much this will kill her...I want her to let Raghav and pookhi go after a thight slap across their face (ek thappar to banta hai)...and wishing them the very best in their married life...

If kamla doesnt choose kalpi his time I want Kalpi to walk out off that house...or Kamla can shift her tu her pyari beti pookhi...6 month leap would be wonderful with showing Kalpi almost gaining everything...but I dont wish to see raghav being a part off it or the source behind it...he can have his separate dook bari kahani...

Though I love their chemistry...I dont belief in that one ultimate love...that is something in love to read in a mills and boons story...real life showed me there are different relations we go through in life...all will have their own importance... Though that one feeling will always remain with that one person...So I for kalpi I wish to find a new relation ...and her Muthi asmaan...

Coming to Raghav...just love this character but nothing can justify his step for hurting Kalpi...he already had enough chances to walk out...so getting blackmailed doesnt sound logical...he isnt a man to go weak...cause his only weakness is Kalpi...so why marry pookhi al sudden...as I said it will be a sick joke if they are playing a prank...
