"The doctor wants to speak to you,'. regarding Ms Jeevika. She is in the scan room, at the end of the corridor. "

He walked straight . His gait steady, but yet his heart sank with every step he took. As he feared what he was to hear.
Dr Elen was busy . When she was told Viren was waiting she came out.
He scanned her face to see a hint of hope. But she, as always was not one to give away her fears or her happiness that easily. 30 yrs of experience had trained her well enough to maintain that calm exterior in spite of her inner turmoil.
"Viren. She has undergone her brain scan. There is no internal hemorrhage . So her unconscious state is due to the hypovolemia she is in. One of the arteries of her leg is punctured, and according to the vascular surgeon that's the cause of bleed, and that ought to be sutured at the earliest. She is being shifted to the operation theatre. We need to pump her with few units of blood to stabilize her vitals."
He stood there, hearing those words, '''
"Viren '.. but there is a problem. Going through her basic tests we found her blood group to be O negative . And its a very rare group. Normally we have a store of 2 to 3 units in our bank.
Coincidently two other, of the accident victims share the same group, both of whom had more serious injuries, in dire need of blood.
So we are short of her group. We are asking for help but ''', its difficult to find.
Viren try what you can . The sooner you find the better"
He stood still , trying to take in all that he heard. Gathering voice he spoke''.
"She'''.she is going to make it ! right?"
"Her vitals are weak. She''' "
(she stopped as she saw tears fill up his eyes)
"Viren''..you know I will try my best"
"I know'. and I do trust you"
"I need to check up on others. Inform me if you find blood"
He nodded and stared on as she walked away.
He was lost for a while unable to think, unable to process.
'Viren, this is not the time to give up. You cannot give up on her, not now. Never'
He could hear jeevika, her words resounding in his mind.
"I always had the faith in my belief. How could I loose my faith in you?"
Suddenly he felt charged, his neurons which had got frozen started firing yet again.
'Blood ''..O negative''. I should check out the local blood banks'
Thanks to his knowledge of blood banks in the city, and the technology, he knew what he had to do now.
e search, calls, requests, putting on hold ,''''. went on for a while''.With no positive result, he closed his eyes in prayer.
There was one person who could help him out.
