OS Pakoras
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Maanvi was lying on the bed, covered with fleece blankets as a tray of pakoras lay besides her. She was munching on the pakoras and her eyes were glued to the tv screen infront of her. Her eyes failing to acknowledge the few crumbs of pakoras scattered around her.
'Tere ghar aya mein aya tujhko layne'. Salman came onscreen.
She gasped loudly. At the moment, Virat walked into the room and he looked bewildered. His eariler smirk replaced by worry as he rushed into the their room.
'Maanvi, are you ok? Is anything wrong',
Virat walked faster and came to stand infront of her. Dropping the black file on the sofa.
'Virat, move! You're blocking the TV',
Maanvi shot back, ushering her hands in the air, motioning him to move. She impatiently started leaning to the side to catch a glimpse of the TV.
'What?'
Virat looked confused as he turned around to see 'Kuch Kuch Hota hai' on the screen. He sighed.
'You need to stop reacting like this in any situation. Soo melodramatic',
he said.' Aur yeh!' he said, looking at the large tray of pakoras sitting besides her. 'Ek din pakora ban jao gee'.
'Woh to mein ban gaye he, thanks to you',
she said, smiling saracastically at his remarks.
'I think you look cute.',
he said mischievously and a sly smirk crept onto his smile, looking her at up and down as she lay on the bed. Her jaw dropped as she blinked her eyes rapidly. She recognised this look. Her heart began accelerating looking into his soft piercing eyes and she shot a pakora at him and he ducked, unsuprised by her antics.
'Besharam, get away from me. I'm in this condition because of you',
she shot back, pulling the fleece blanket on top.
He smile and sat besides her and pulled the fleece blanket off her slightly swollen stomach and put his hand over it.
'Dad loves you a lot',
he whispered as he leaned in close to her stomach and kissed it gently. She shuddered at his touch and a smile crept up on her lips as she bit her lower lip to hide her amusement.
'Saara pyar baby kay liye? Mujhko bhool gaye',
she pouted and he smirked. Leaning close to her, he kissed her forhead and clutched her hand tightly. 'I love you the most Maanvi',he whispered.
'So the great Lawyer Virat got time to spend with his innocent little wife
?', she said as he put his arms around her. She started finishing the rest of the pakoras on the plate
'Innocent where?' he looked around confused as she playfully punched him on his chest,' Jis din innocence tum pay use ho ga, use din duniya khatam ho jayege. You know how Daddaji is like. Virat beta, Free time hai. Aur kaam karo. Mere bas chale mein kaam he na karo', he confessed, kissing her hand.
'Haaan woh to mujhe pata hai',
she replied, smiling
'Pata hai na then?',
he questioned, grabbing a pakora from the plate and started eating it.
'Hey that's mine! Sharam nahe ate, humare baby ka food khatay hoye',
she said.
'Maanvi ji, I doubt my baby eats this much food. It's all you! Poore family ka khana kha lo ge',
he laughed.
She gasped 'Family bhi toh yeh kar rahi hai.I'm only 5 months along and they dump me on a bed', she pouted, lowering her eyes.
'Cause they know how your like. Can never be still for a second',
he said. Virat caressed her slightly swollen stomach. 'Did you miss me Abhilasha?' he softly spoke.
'Abhilasha? Yeh kisne decide kiya?,
she shrieked and stared at his face confused.
Me of course! Baap to jo hoon',
he stated proudly.
'Toh Mein bhi Maa hoon, If it's a girl, she's going to be called Tinu and If it's a boy, he's going to be called Aru',
she exclaimed, grinning.
Virat smile vanished at he stared at her. 'Kya? Tum pagal ho gaye ho. My child will never have an adha adhora name'.
Maanvi gasped at this. 'Tum apne pregnant wife ko pagal kah rahe hoo', She tried pulling him away but his grip was tight and he didn't budge.
'What can I do if she acts like one',
he said sarcastically.
'Virat! You are impossible',
she said.
'You wouldn't think that when you find out what I got for you?',
he asked.
'Chaand laye hoo kya?',
she boredly asked.
' Better then that... Dominos pizza',
he grinned and waited for her reaction.
'Kya!',
she squealed in excitement, clutching his hand tightly. Moments later she frowned dropping her hand, 'But dadda ji...' she pouted, fidgeting with her chiffon dupatta. Daddaji had insisted that Maanvi should only eat healthy food and ghar ka khana.
'Dadda ji ki toh-
She shot him a warned look. He smiled at how protective she was of his family.
-koi baat nahi'
, he finished his sentence, replacing his earlier words. He loves you more then me so I don't think he would mind', he picked up a slice of double cheese pizza and fed her. She happily obliged and ate it.
'I am famished',
she stated and he chuckled lightly pointing to the empty plate of pakoras besides her. She started blushing and smacked him lightly on his chest. He pulled her closer to him and smiled.
Viren and Jeevika were leaning on the door, smiling at their antics. It had been a year since they got married yet their banter never stopped. Viren exclaimed loudly 'Now imagine a child in this equation', Maanvi and Virat both looked in their direction confused. Jeevika's eyes grew wide as her jaw dropped. Jeevika replied ' The child will have a tough competition competing with the parents for tantrums'. They both chuckled as Maanvi and Viraat looked in their way and gasped.
