Not only is she rape, humiliation, electrocution victim, but also victim of criminal neglect by CVs and viewers.
This character suffered hell. For no fault of hers. Yet she is remembered at the end.

Many wanted Ms Durga to leave it and join Shaurya. Then join Dev.

Even now only thing that is wanted is just some jodi reunion.

Justice for Payal? What is it?

The great crusader lead is saving already protected girls but time and time again was lax with security of Payal who suffered relapse twice.

In fact pain of gangrape, humiliation, torture, confinement, being made to lose sanity, being exposed to trauma again and again are all nothing compared to great pain of not uniting with lover (who you're married to anyway). The only thing in this show is - union of some jodi.

Teena was a fabulous actress. Yet she got such a raw deal!😲

Every chillu pillu got more scenes than her. Even Goenkas waiter!

Non actors hogged the show. Her character's name was bandied about as an excuse but where was she? Nowhere except broken flashbacks.

It was only about Durga. Her ego, her clashes, her prospective jodi, her claims, her "pain" in continuing this revenge.

What was Payal? A patient who people visited or whisked away at will?

Durga hasn't met Payal in days. Dayal "says" main mil leta hun. Really? He is either with Durga or at home. When he meets Payal?

Payal was not even given chance to takedown her rapists. Only producer's laadla Dev is being lionised.

There are zilch discussion on Payal, zilch expectations on her. Zilch scenes of her.

When asked what you want? Answer is jodi romance, some villain being punished. No words on Payal.

Durga's 2 year absence, her lack of safety for Payal are unexplained. They will remain thus because Payal was just an excuse.

Sorry for Payal. Sorry to Teena.

@Anu I hope you understand from the beginning itself Nithya is the heroine of the story. Payal as the name itself suggest is the catalyst that transforms this simple girl Nithya to take on the mighty Goenka's.
In other words Nithya was destiny's choice to bring down the evil trio. As Rishi says in yesterday's epi, the bet they kept on Nithya was not a bet but a writing on the wall for their own destiny.
Nithya was a simple girl with simple dreams just like any middle class girl. Under normal circumstances after her studies her parents would have fixed an alliance for her , she would have got married and settled. Goenka's would have continued their looting. Even the so called Dev wouldn't have done anything. His mom would have made him stay in US. Whether he will marry Nithya or not is a different question altogether. I don't think under realistic terms it will happen as Nithya's parents will not wait for 2 years , also Nithya doesn't know Dev loved her.
But the bet, then the slap and rape changed the whole scenario. A driver's daughter stood up to the mighty Goenka's. Even though she failed she questioned , she made them sleepless and to defeat her Sakshi had to go all out including EB to make Payal change the statement. As Sakshi herself knew if statement is not changed Nithya will fight till the last breath. It was exactly the reason she asked to kill Nithya but not Payal. Payal without Nithya didn't had any power.
But Nithya came back and started fighting again. To get the justice denied to her and her family. Her fight will always take precedence as she or her plans are what finally making the infighting between the Goenka's. It is the guilty conscience of Dev not being able to be there for her in her hour of need that finally make him break the chains, question the evil trio and claim the chairmanship.
In other words what happened to Payal resulted in many corrupt people getting their due and being sent to jail. It has resulted in bringing down a mighty corrupt empire. Yes she suffered and she was the biggest sufferer too in this whole saga. But it is her suffering that will finally bring positivity to many other lives because Nithya would have never recognized this power inside her if not for Payal. And if Nithya didn't recognize it , she couldn't have been the change agent that she turned out to be. And all culprits will be punished but along with that some unexpected positive changes will also happen to society.
Coming to Dev- Durga union. I had only taken it as destiny's way of undoing the harm that has been done by Raj-Sakshi union. Raj-Sakshi union happened to hide a crime and that union went on doing more criminal acts. It is said that history repeats itself or Zeher ko Zeher se hi nikhala jaa saktha hai. So to undo one type of union , you needed a similar union. That's why it started as a deal.
And CVs are showing them coming together as Raj-Sakshi relation disintegrates.

I completely endorse what you have written here. As everyone here has been ranting, writers are loosing their focus on the plots and efficiently link one with the another so that the downfall of Goenka's can be shown more convincingly.
Coming to your post on negligence for Payal, I have no words to describe as to how the writers can just oversee her importance. She is the sole reason for Durga's revenge. So Payal is equally or more important than Durga in my eyes. Atleast some flash black scenes of Payal in their good times and later on during the case hearing and some family moments would have helped us to know more better about Payal. It would have also been great if they showed in Durga's absence the amount of atrocities on Payal and these pieces of information making Durga more strong willed to punish the criminals.

We have bits and pieces of information on incidents that led to the rape, post rape incidents, the lawyer changing his stand, so on so forth. Payal is only shown when it becomes a necessity for the show to process. She is not a part and parcel of the whole series.
Why is Payal's state of mind not ventured to? Why she feels so secured with Durga? As Anu pointed out, the empathy and sympathy shown to a rape victim is not shown anywhere and hence the action of the characters cannot be justified. Payal is just sidelined in all ways. The plot is not written in such a way that when each negative character is unfolded and punished, it is kind of giving justice to Payal. It was more attributed to Durga's tactics, her luck, baba, devima , now Dev and so on. Even Dev thinks only about Nitya... Yes now he knows Nitya is alive. At the same time he cannot ignore Payal. He loved Nitya...Fair enough. But Payal was his sunshine. She is not just your lover's sister as shown in this serial. Hence he should be now saying for Payal to get justice, I must bring down the other negative goenkas.

Yesterday in the board meeting also, when he became the chairman, it was his Baba's dream and then saying Nitya's dream. I have no problem in Dev fulfilling Nitya's dreams. But he should have expressed that he is coming to power to give jsutice to Payal. That would have made more sense. These may appear very small , but the writers have compleltly ignored small detailing which actually changes the perspective. I find it difficult to digest on one hand Dev concerned for Payal and on the other hand doing things for Nitya or rather appear to me as if he is doing things for Payal as she is nitya's sister. I may be reading too much between the lines, though nothing of this sort has been shown explicitly. ( Not doing Dev Bashing. I am thoroughly disappointed with the writers of the show)

At times I feel the guilt which Akram had that he couldn't protect Payal was better scripted than the feelings which Durga and Dayal potray. Still I remember just that one incident made him feel so guilty.. (Again the lack of impact is due to silly script writing)

Lastly Kudos to Teena for portraying Payal very convincingly and we as vierwers are very impressed with your acting.

I have just made my pov. Do not intend to hurt anyone. To each his/her own view..

Remya

It seemed like Payal completely did not exist at all after some time. What happened to her started the show but shame it could not be kept in the mind of the writers when writing the plot.

@Remya coming to detailing CVs have missed many parts. Not only Payal- Nithya/Durga but also many others. They never showed the bonding of Dayal and real Durga. Except for 1 FB there were none. Dev-Nithya relation. I could never completely connect to it as they never explored their childhood or teenage years to show the strength of their friendship. Also I couldn't understand why Nithya had blind faith on Dev. No incident in the past has been shown to justify this faith.
Again relation of Nithya with Suchitra and Dev with Nithya's parents and Payal was not explored in detail considering how much best buddies they were.
EHT has touched almost all relations from a superficial stand point , more like each needs other for their own selfish motives. In this chase of selfish motives Payal has been the only exception as the poor girl was too weak to stand up for herself after suffering more trauma.

Shruthi: Well said... I agree with all your points and many more we have missed. This frustration of mine comes out from the fact that they are ignoring payal too much... We expected much more from a finite series.
I caught up with all the missed out episodes at one go as I was undergoing some tough time in my life. Used to read all your posts and written updates.. Now getting back to track and I expected too much from EHT.

Ps: I like reading your posts though I may slightly differ in my opinion with you..😉

@Remya this forum is for open discussion and I believe we all are different individuals with our own POV around various things. As long as we discuss our POV without bashing at other each other I treat it as a good interaction.
Because sometimes I learn something new from others or you take a point from me and as long as a discussion enriches our viewpoint it is a healthy discussion.
I only have problem when people unnecessarily bash or go over the top and doesn't give respect to a different POV. I respect all POVs though they are different from mine because POVs according to me are shaped in light of our various experiences with life and I always feel I do not have any right to judge anyone's POV as I don't know their journey and what shaped that POV.

@Shruti
Nitya is heroine but others are not that they got more than Payal. Even Goenkas' servants have more scenes than her.

And NO WAY is Nitya the biggest sufferer in this!😲

The biggest sufferer is Payal! Losing face is nothing compared to being gangraped, drugged, tortured and electrocuted to make you insane. Nothing!

While she was comfortablly living in Dayal's protection Payal suffered hell!

This entire incident was also due to her agreeing to interact with Shaurya, then slapping him in front of his drunk friends. Even now the relapse in Payal's condition was due to her giving her aashiq access to Payal. And needlessly giving challenges to Sakshi instead of carrying out as silent killer.

That is the problem of this show! Suddenly this impulsive, ignorant Nitya's so called suffering is greater than what Payal suffered? Cry me a river!

I agree with Remya! CVs never named her. Just ignored her.

Jodi reunion is not as important as justice and rehabilitation of the victim for that was the theme of this show to begin with. Till early months it didn't even have a bloody romantic lead!

Nitya can be heroine. But her purpose is Payal, the sole surviving member of her family. Yet that one who drives the story purpose gets little screenspace than even servants. How fair it is?

Not to mention that rape and blunders in case were due to her faulty judgement. Why did she keep going to Goenkas and shout dialogues? Nobody changes their statement on your dhamkis or bhaashans. Rather her main yeh karungi, woh karungi was what made Goenkas eliminate her and her family.

She is the one who invited trouble. She was the one who was still lax and ignorant of bonding with sister and making her safe. Yet she is biggest sufferer? No way. Nada.
