yep true u need F1 visa for going to USA, but again you are not bond to stay there like most people who are on student loan are, because they have to find the job once they graduate, find a company that will sponsor their H1B visa and stuffs. My post no where states that you do not need visa to go to USA, yep you do need it, how rich u r doent matter, whether for studeis, or for travel and business u need a visa to go there unless u r an US citizen. Again right you need the status to stay in USA, if you dont have one u r deported to your home land not held in some foreign land for 2 years.

but again if he is a USA citizen then what we are discussing here is totally pointless. But for some reason he being USA citizen is not being showed or highlighted yet.

You did start the discussion with a valid question. I mostly read updates, and so far I am not aware that he is shown as US citizen. As far as returning to India is concerned, after F1 is done or leaving the studies in the middle, I think what has been shown so far is that Dev was stuck in US for some valid visa delays, he had gone there for two years. He did not receive any email or messages from Durga, he was only informed by the Goenkas that Nitya et al dragged the Goenkas to the court and then the whole family died. It is very recently that he is finding out about the rape accusations and other court dealings. Since now Shaurya has accepted that he did do the wrong to the girl, Dev is now looking for resources to find the truth out. He is a simple minded person unlike SHaurya, and is hopeful that Nitya is alive. He would have come back leaving his studies or had contacted Nitya if he had been aware of the factual situation which he was not at that time. I am sure the creative Team will fill in the gaps to explain why Dev waited two years to come and look for Nitya or to find the truth. At this point we are watching two points of view- Durga's and Dev's and once they shake hands again, the explanations will be there from each side. So far Durga's side we know very clearly that she got the funky email from him about his refusal to help her. I think it is interesting to watch how these two know their own side and it is creating that anxiety for the viewers as to when would these two question each other and we will get answers.
Onthe other note, I feel the flow of EHT is slowing done since the entry of Dev. It was much fast tracked before.

I agree some rules is not good for US-Canada students but for me he is goenka and if he leave usa then also he can come after few years as a biz visa and second if he have some really big issues with visa or passport then also he have some very good friends who can help nitya if Dev told them then🤔 if he really love nitya then he can do lots of thing even if he is in usa😕 I mean I am in Canada but when I heard something happened to my friends I will manage to help them right now too...so if Dev can not come to India he have sources to help Nitya so I don't buy this excuse😡

He was kept in dark. he was not aware of what Nitya's family was going through. Which I agree with Chitra that in this age of media, he could have gotten the wind of it had he read any local newspapers of Kolkotta. I read my local city newspaper, can'thave my morning coffee without going online to its site. I call my family everyday and have the current knowledge of my neighborhood through them.

I guess the full story of why Dev was unable to come will only be bought out when the MU between Durga and Dev is cleared and we will get a lengthly accusation and confession epi. Till then we can make guesses.

Actually so far.. Dev's entry and their reasons are the only thing that Cv's could present properly before the audience. Regarding that email also, i mean if Nitya had so much faith on Dev that he would stand by her side [like she was telling her family] then how could that faith..that trust just shatter by his one email. If not he then atleast she could have tried contacting him again. Utterly confusing!

The story so far has been really thought through. But Dev's story is not at all convincing. Don't get me wrong, I like the character. But like you said the visa story is not at all convincing. They have to come up with a more convincing story - may be he got into some trouble in the US? May be someone created a problem with his US visa, he got arrested, put away and something like that.

yaa Sanaa unless we get a solid confession from Dev on why he was away during that time when the court case happened there is loophole. But a full fledged confession will be possible only if he knew the reality of Durga.

I agree. The whole visa story seems very unconvincing . I hope they come up with a better explanation. However he must have been kept in the dark because in india name of the rape victim is NOT revealed till the girl herself wants to disclose it . So maybe for a long time Dev had no clue about Payal being the victim. He must have only been told that his brother is an accused in some rape case but not the other part of the story . So till the time he aftually got to know everything it was perhaps too late. This is what I think. Lets see if they provide us with a detailed explanation .
