Sanjay's father refuses Prarthna's alliance on grounds of the fact that she is on the darker side. His mother advises Akash's parents to find a widower/divorcee for her because she won't be able to find a good match. Her mother politely thanks Sanjay's parents in a snide way and indirectly asks them to leave the house. On leaving the house. Sanjay's parents pass snide remarks on Prarthna and her family. They bump into Akash and awkwardly divert the situation and leave.
Akash enters to find Prarthna in tears, and his brother tells him what all transpired, post which Akash says Prarthna need not be displayed like a doll anymore. His bhabhi counters his statement and tries to explain the cons of hiding Prarthna in the house, and her husband agrees to it. Akash's father stops the argument in anger.
Gautam's family are in Poonam's place along with her family. As Poonam's mother offers Gautam's parents tea, they accept it and ask her to bring 5-6 glasses of sharbat as well. Once she leaves, he tells her to eat and drink all that is possible, and stuff the pockets too.
Gautam and Poonam are sitting next to each other, Gautam is staring at Poonam who's rather shy. He whispers to her, asking her out on a date since they're officially engaged, much to her shock.
On getting the sharbat, Poonam's parents asks around for Akash, and they're told that he'd gone home.
In Akash's home, everyone is knocking onto Prarthna's room door, as it is apparent that she's locked herself in. Even though all are begging her to come out, she cries that she doesn't wanna get married anymore. Akash asks the others to leave and he promises to get her out.
Akash manages to coax Prarthna into opening the door and letting him in. Prarthna says she won't marry anyone, to which Akash replies that since Poonam is getting married elsewhere, he won't marry either. The two of them would remain single and take care of their elders.
Poonam's father is admiring the shagun ka saaman, when Gautam calls. Poonam's mother receives the call and he asks her if he could take Poonam out on a date the next day. Poonam's father agrees since they're already engaged and the message is relayed to Gautam. Poonam's mother asks him to call her maa. Poonam's father is impressed with how Gautam asked their permission to take Poonam out. Poonam's mother is upset as Poonam didn't wear the sari her inlaws' had given. On discussion with the rest of the family, she decides to call and apologise.
Poonam's mother calls Gautam's place, and Gautam's parents have a small tiff about picking up the call. Poonam's mother apologises to Gautam's mother, to which the latter gives a funny reply without thinking, and then changes her statement to a more polite and appropriate one. The call ends. Gautam is about to leave, when his mother stops him and asks him to ensure that their respect should never go down. They bring up the matter of the sari to which he agrees. He then tells them about his plans to open a new branch of the coaching center, and his parents agree to get him married before that.
Akash and Prarthna's parents are worried about Prarthna's impending wedding. Her mother says that she's devised a method where the alliance will arrive at their house and say yes without any other issue.
Precap: Akash and Prarthna have gone out; Akash goes off somewhere as Prarthna waits for him in a cafe, only to sit directly behind Poonam-Gautam.
