He knew what it meant never to be asked for, he felt the dejection she must have gone through on realising that she really didn't fit into the criteria of a sought after girl, he knew coz he felt, you can only understand people if you feel them in yourself. So like I said, I felt good at this premise, compassion is one of my favourite virtues 😛I'm glad it struck you. Compassion was one of his many virtues. And It's my favourite too!He understands what it feels like, as you have stated.
