Amazing post! Detest Preethi but the cvs are recently maligning shravans character too... making him look like his father. Hope something good comes off the next few days.

Sumo rocks. This us the girl we find add wives in South India. But yes they work but are still treated as doormats but we do see girls putting a fight against it. We also see the guys growing up.

Sadly edkvs characters are regressive. Hope it changes. ..

Wonderful post!! It's unfortunate the way they are showing Shravan put down Suman for being an independent, career-oriented girl and interpret that as being egoistic. And this putting down of a girl's career or independence is something I've seen happen around; not in a direct, blatant way but in an indirect manner. So it's really sad when serials such as this are resorting to propagate stereotypes. It would have been awesome if they showed the Shravan actually being understanding and stand by Suman instead of being against her... makes me wonder are they really 'ek duje ke vaaste'?

Wonder whether it's beginning of the dumbing down of Shravan? Right now, I'm ok with Shravan because he had been a victim of teen Sumo's ego & pretensions. May be he hasn't realised how much Sumo had changed since then.

I don't know why they are infusing regressive stuff thr' Pushkar,Ramu & Sharavan now..Ramu was very appreciative of Sumo earlier & Pushkar seemed proud of her.
I'll wait for today's convo between the cousins to continue before blasting P.😆

Hi Shruti.

Mary, you got a lot of people who rarely visit the forum to come and post on your thread.

From what I remember, Sumo felt Shravan was hesitant to confess his love to her because his parents relationship scarred him emotionally. She felt getting Nirmala to meet Shravan and explain her side of the story would clear Shravan's doubts, confusion, perspectives and he will be ready to confess and commit .

Shravan meanwhile had realized why Sumo was the way she was in school and who she really is now deep inside.

So what were last night's dialogues about?

As someone here posted about the promos, Shravan was shown to be a MCP in the promos and they have been true to the original promos. I have to give this PH credit for that alone!!

It would have been amazing if they moved the story along without the stereotypical 'good boy'', 'good girl' characterizations though and spoken against double standards in desi society.

OMG! WORD!
I was totally going "W*F" the ENTIRE time during shravan's monologue's in yesterday's episode. He is like I'm worried you are going to be left alone suman because of your "ego" and I was like WHATTT???? What ego is she displaying up here? What the heck is he talking about? Is he comparing her to preeti and glorifying preeti, just because she is not listening to him? Is that it? Because his jealousy is taking over him and he is just being unreasonable because of that? I don't know how shravan's character turned 180 degrees in few episodes.

SUMAN DOES NOT NEED TO BECOME PREETI! The day she does I will leave this show forever and ever. She is NOT a doormat. Doesn't matter if everyone isn't happy with her decisions. The important part is that she is not letting them run ALL over her and her opinions, principles and ideals. What happened to shravan that ALWAYS had suman's back? Where is that shravan? and Who is this regressive shravan? CVS, Do something to fix this! You are ruining the show!

Btw, could it be that cvs are doing this on purpose to show that shravan's regressive thinking needs to be changed or something? Remember how it was like that in promos?! But, shravan didn't have that problem anyways so why did they feel the need to make him regressive like that all of a sudden. Shravan knows how much suman upholds her self-respect and loves her for it, even all with her head strong opinions in tail, he loved her anyways. So, what is with this sudden transition now? Do they not have anything else to show, or are they just confused?!

From the beginning of the PP marriage track, nothing makes sense and the characters have been skewered.
Pushkar, a good friend and all round sensible guy, became this typical Indian groom with expectations, ego and no guts to stop unrealisitic demands.
Never had any expectations from Preeti anyway.
Nanu, who didn't want to plot and get their house papers back. A man who always stood by the right thing, is suddenly full of some false pride which won't even let them share the wedding burden.
Also, what kind of family leaves entire responsibility of organising a wedding, on a girl whom they are ready to blame immediately?

Coming to this girl, Suman. What does self-respect mean to her exactly?
It's one thing to not accept money from other people but how will it hurt if they get you a discount at a much better place, knowing full well that it will keep the lady for whom this whole fiesta of a wedding is being organised, happy?
At first, I thought she was doing this on purpose, to keep Shravan away but now that she is waiting for him to confess, I don't know what to say anymore.
This isn't about self respect or being stubborn. It's just ego.

The less said the better about Shravan Malhotra. This guy was like a pendulum initially when his dad tried to brainwash him. They started off well with him fluctuating between his own opinion about Suman and what his dad and Pushkar talked about ideal woman.
I look at him talk to Suman and often wonder how he studied law at Oxford without knowing tact.

So many other things I wanted to say but I went off topic and rambled.
To summarise, I feel the CVs have a confusing idea as to what they want to show or it is all going to tie up in one grand finale that is out of range for my puny brain to understand.
There have been a lot of wrongs but since the show is about misogyny and chauvinism, I'm hopint it leads somewhere. Just the writing is mixed.

Kudos to you for writing the truth so clearly and so well.
Suman is SUMO as Sharvan named her and the CVS should show that it is the SUMO in her that he has admired and will stand by her for that.
He wants her to be The SUMO that he has named her and only then will the regressive thinking of our society go when the guys admire the SUMO in Suman and support her for being so righteous , determined, strong and self sufficient, a self made woman. A woman who can take the world on her own. Sharvan needs to be shown as the modern hero who throws away his father and chachi's regressive thinking and being the educated man supports his SUMO in everything and stands up for her against everybody including his dad.
