I don't know why, but for some reason, even now, Shravan's pain is coming across the most notably in these post leap epis so far.
It's ironic...because the writers have checked off all the boxes with Suman by taking away both her parents and possibly her Daddu as well....concertedly showing her as totally isolated, lonely, without even her dear sister Kancha in her life. Yet somehow, watching these things doesn't really evoke the deep sadness that the writers are clearly trying to evoke ....maybe cuz the effort is painfully transparent?😆.....maybe if they had tried to show it in a non-cliched way, it would work better? hmm, Idk but it seems as if her pain is more explicit like she's just lost a lot in life so its a direct influence hence lost on trust in relationships finishing in within a snap. Her parents, BB, distrust on Beena over selling the house (although this shade was apparent in Beena preleap whenever business matters arised however its more apparent post leap but suman was young at the time to understand this). Shravan has more like he feels happy whenever he remembers Suman during their happy moments but the words she said in their last scene before post leap just shatters those moments in broken pieces of mirror that he ponders over. The sting hurts him but he tries his level best to feign it even though Jhumri figured without telling him and Bunty did so by conversing with him.
All they've left Suman with is a frankly pretty boring/generic looking kid Veer and an instantly smitten lawyer friend....cliches galore so far. LOL, interesting. I mean, I can feel pity on her losing her parents, esp Vijay but she seems to oscillate between remembering her moments with Shravan before she remembers her moment of Vijay coming back from the mission. I hope a further deepth on her characterization is explained. At least, she did tone it down in front of Veer and Damru like she doesn't mind accepting changes but for Damru, she's still his Suman Didi. Liked this scene, that at least approaching a person is better than hearing what Suman was described to be thereby rekindling her bond with Damru.
Conversely, in Shravan's case.....we see more layers to his bitterness today....wherein he seems to mentally keep going back to the line about Suman telling him that her life would have been ruined with him....wherein he confides to Bunty that he did so many bewakoofiyaan in his bachpan....to see a Shravan so utterly disillusioned somehow hits harder. Maybe because his love for Suman was so transparent and earnest....he literally lived for her and she told him that he ruined her life....to me, I can see why a heart as sensitive as Shravan's would feel that hurt very deeply. It just doesn't seem like something that can be dismissed in a "she said it in the heat of the moment and didn't mean it" way. It's worth noting that she said this to him in the aftermath of him trying to be there for her when she had just lost her father....she took away all rights from him and basically told him to get out of her life. That is probably what cuts him so deep....that she took away any right he had to care for her and dismissed his presence in her life. Yeah, this scene was actually good. His nostrils fill will anger whenever Suman's name is mentioned. Even the mention of her name makes him try to decline the topic before he admits that she's a closed chapter and he's moved on when he hasnt as he shies his eyes away from Bunty in anger. Grudge evident from his face for not having her support when they promised to do so. He did all the "bewakufian" to impress Suman and "bewakufian" even when they were in a relationship just shows how much crazily he was in love with her as she gave him so much attention. When she said, she meant those words, he was practically mortified despite him clarifying. Kanch sa dil ne pathar se mohabbat kari thi and this was the outcome.
Based on Shravan's conversation with Bunty today, it also seems that he never spoke to Suman after that day and the complete communication breakdown has made things worse.....perhaps there were expectations from both sides about who would make an overture first....but neither did...and it only hardened their disillusionment about the breakdown of their relationship. yeah both didnt meet...i guess the reality hit hard on him and it took a huge toll on add more complex layers to their characterization. Yeah, both were expecting ki opposite party kuch response kare. I honestly thought they will meet again or make one last attempt at reconciliation but Shravan did ask whether she really meant what she said and when she said she really meant it then yeah. Parallel to the fort scene, that she was confused at the time and had no reason to give for saving shravan vs vijay's death being cited as the reason for them split up.
I honestly am struggling to see how they will justify this from Suman's POV....yes, she lost her parents....but she herself pushed Shravan away first...so was she still expecting him to forcefully re-enter her life and console her?😕 somehow, when she was remembering shravan she didnt cry vs when she remembered vijay, she shed some tears...quite ironic and complex situation to make out of this ...she termed it as a "mistake" but she was the one who said running away was important...don't want put a finger or anything but her character still seemed to require further development aside from the loss of her family members and they unity they had as opposed to suman not wanting to sell the house for her fathers memories vs beena who is thinking about veer's future..
It seems she still talked about Shravan to Veer all these years and it doesn't seem like it was in negative terms...she still called him her "friend".....while Shravan for his part doesn't even want to hear or take Suman's name....lol does he only call suman didoo or is it kanchan too? whats weird that kanchan is still in college? by college does she mean grad school or what? bc they are practically the same age and it quite surprising that suman hasnt mentioned her that much in todays episode..hope their bond is still there just like shravan & bunty's is..
I'm sensing a lot of presumptions happening on both sides....lol....but fundamentally the issue remains the same....Suman pushed Shravan out of her life so what has she been resenting him for 7 years? lol i hope they clear this out bc family log ka toh ppl can get out of pity but she considered him a mistake but the reasoning still doesnt justify her thoughts ...could it be the changes that shravan bought out in her which vijay was unable to digress out of and even when BB said that she hurt his heart lolz, she was conditioned from the childhood to have her naakh so unchi until shravan made attempts to break this illusion out of her...? who knows whats the reason?
And the same confusing question from yesterday....how does the court case fit into these jumbled emotions between them? Did Suman know he became an Army officer? Does any of that matter anymore? didnt beena say she was only in bhopal for the court case to get over or was it someone fighting on her behalf & similar with shravan hence little-to-no contact between the duo? didnt expect the courtcase to get stretched for this long plus shravan def wanna sell the house, finish court case, & apply for leave/transfer outta bhopal but looks like destiny had other plans for em
The new characters barring Shravan's Army friends are decidedly underwhelming....I vote for more Bunty and by some miracle Kancha coming back in the coming epis otherwise the vibe of the show has taken a bit of a hit. also the new character vikram/lawyer seems really confusing when computer bg had suman's face..lolz usually detest third angles unless its short or just quickly platonic ...also precap seems to be parallel to the first time they became buddies in gussa in their school vs now exs meeting after 7 years in the same profession but different ways with her being a army doc vs him being a captain ..quite interesting that cvs like to reconstruct chemistry or repeat chemistry in a more serious level now..🤣
