in BR Chopra's Mahabharat Gufi paintal really became famous as shakuni esp for his signature line 'Bhanjee' ...i wish sagars present Gufi this time in a more serious way ...wud love to see the evil serious Shakuni ...in BR CHOPRAS MAHABHARAT we all hv seen Gufi playing a evil shakuni in witty ways ...lets wish this time he plays shakuni in a different way ...

and now i dont think that the makers will show Rukmini Devi ...😕😕
and one more thing the viewers are not interested in seeing satyabhama in the story anymore
the actress who is playing satyabhama totally deteriorated the Great Role of satyabhama ...she is not at all impressive...
😕

From all the actresses I know, the most perfect role for Draupadi would be either Debina or Rati Pandey. Debina's cool anger and seriousness looked a bit uncharacteristic of Sita in a few of the Ashok Vatika scenes of Ramayan, but they would have been perfect had she been Draupadi, since Draupadi is known for her anger and indignation. Rati Pandey would also be good...I like her expressions when she's serious or angry, and though she may come as a surprising choice, I wouldn't mind her as Draupadi.

Ok so the Mahabharat track is coming up next...

LOL! Vrish you've already started the casting for it😆

Anyway this news of Mr. Gufi doing Shakuni once again seems a bit weird😕 Of course he was fantastic as Shakuni that time but plz not again😳 I'm not against him being casted in the serial, just the role. I think the Sagars should consider him for some other character rather than Shakuni😳He's a versatile actor so should be given another role rather than getting him stereotyped as Shakuni so that we can see his other shades of acting😎

If he gets casted as Shakuni this time then wouldn't he get confused when he sees Jarasandh this time who was his once upon favorite bhanje Duryodhan LOL!🤣

But this Mahabharat track really sounds exciting... looks like I won't be able to wait for my exams to finish😆

Not just Shakuni - think about Puneet. 20 years ago, he was killed by Bhima, and now again. That time, it was a mace to his thigh, this time being torn apart symmetrically and thrown on opposite sides.

Have you seen the promos of Krishna announcing that this is the biggest thing he's about to do? With all due respect, I disagree. The enemies Krishna fought & killed/had killed by others - Kansa, Jarasandha, Sishupala, Narakasura, Shalva, Dantavatra, et al were all more powerful than the Kurus. For instance, Yudhisthir couldn't do the Rajasuya Yagna until he had conquered Jarasandha, so guess what - apparently, Jarasandha was not conquered by the likes of Bheeshma, Drona, Ashwatthama or Karna either. Thinking logically about this, I think that the first set of enemies Krishna eliminated were so powerful that only he could have killed them, while when it came to the Kauravas, although they were as evil as Jarasandha & co, he decided that it was the Pandavas' war, and so decided to let them have the credit for wiping out their enemies.

I'm also somewhat disappointed that this serial will morph into just the Mahabharata going forward. The Mahabharata was undoubtedly major, but by no means overshadowed all the other events in Krishna's life. I know that in the BRC serial 20 years ago, Nitish dominated that serial, but given how wobbly they've made Krishna's character, I just wonder whether Vishal can do it this time?

I haven't watched the promo. If they show it during MSDK then maybe I'll get to watch it coz right now that's the only show I'm watching on Imagine. I've stopped watching even CGM long time back.

I agree with you that those who got killed by Krishna could have only been killed by him bcoz only he had the power to eliminate them. But I also feel that those who were killed on the Kaurav's side during Mahabharat too were actually killed by Krishna, it's just that the people of Pandav's got the credit but it was actually Krishna doing everything. They won bcoz they had Krishna on their side & obviously they had him on their side bcoz they were fighting against the evil.

For me Mahabharat is one of the important phases of Krishna's life but not the most important one which would dominate his other activities. Krishna was the greatest warrior in the Dwapar Yug & if he wanted then he could have defeated the Kauravs single-handedly. Of course there were some great warriors in the Mahabharat on both sides but despite being the charioteer Krishna was the greatest of all

The BRC serial made 20 years back was purely about Mahabharat. Yes they did show some phases of Krishna's life but not in detail as their main focus was the Mahabharat track. DBSK is about Krishna's life not only Mahabharat. So it's not necessary that the serial has to show lives of Pandavs or Kauravs in detail. The main focus should be Krishna's life. That's where the difference lies. So I don't really think it's fair to draw comparisons between the two serials. My POV😳

Btw I really agree with some of you that Mr. Gufi would be a great choice for Bheesma.
I really wish Vinod Kapoor too gets casted for a prominent role. He was simply fabulous as Veebhishan in ASR Would love to see him giving another spellbinding performance in a mytho😃

I never really liked the BRC serial due to the liberties they took w/ the story, making it Mahabhashana, and making things up as eggregious as some of the ones in JSK and DBSK. Having said that, one thing strange about BRC was that they included in the serial Krishna's birth & childhood, which is not there in Mahabharata, but they ended the serial @ a very strange place - Bheeshma's death, and so the end of Krishna & the Pandavas, which was part of the Mahabharat, was never shown. In this serial, I wonder whether they'll end it when Krishna is shot by Jara and taken to Vaikuntha, or whether they'll also show the Pandavas last journey and Yudhisthir's parikshas in Yamalok.

You're right that the Mahabharata was about the Kurus, but there were so few players in the serial, as opposed to the original story, that Krishna dominated proceedings on the Pandava side, while we were subjected to endless bhashans from Shakuni, Vidura, Dhritarashtra, Gandhari, Bheeshma and to a lesser extent Drona & Kripa.

On Vinod Kapoor (Dushashan in BRC and Vibhishan in ASR), I think that since he played the role of a Kaurava prince previously, this time, a role such as that of Drona or Kripa would be appropriate - particularly Drona. Or maybe Vidura.

I hope Sagar Pictures use a composite of texts in SB and MB, and not past serials, be it either BRCM or RSSK. Both were very flawed serials.

Sita

I thought it was Arjun, not Yudhisthir, that they showed. So far, they showed Kunti, Arjun and on the Kaurava side, Dhritarashtra, Gandhari & Shakuni. I'll post the promo once it's up on Imagine's YouTube channel.

I think it will probably be months b4 we get to the Gita part - there will be Draupadi's swayamvara, the establishment of Indraprastha, Arjun & Subhadra's marriage & birth of the Pandava-putras, the game of dice and Draupadi's humiliation, the Pandava exile, where Krishna is supposed to be w/ them on at least 3 occasions, the upbringing of Abhimanyu (I doubt they'll show Draupadi's kids, even though they too were brought up by ummm, Rukmini as well as Subhadra and Krishna's wives.), Abhimanyu's marriage to Uttara, Krishna's mission to Hastinapur and his meeting w/ Karna, Duryodhan & Arjun soliciting his support, all of this will happen b4 it gets to the war.

Now, there are peripheral stories about Krishna and the Kurus, which I hope gets shown in its proper chronological perspective. One would be Samba abducting Lakshmanaa and Balarama rescuing him from the Kauravas, another would be Satyabhama's meeting w/ Draupadi during the Pandava exile, then there is also Krishna & his clan visiting Vrindavan and meeting all major rulers, as well as the Kurus. This last part would happen after the success of Yudhisthir's Rajasuya yagna & death of Sishupala, but b4 the game of dice.

I also hope that Satyaki, who's normally routinely been ignored in all serials about Krishna and the Mahabharata, gets his fair coverage here. He was the 2nd most important chariot warrior in the Pandava army after Arjun (in fact superior in archery even over Bhima), contributed majorly in the Pandava victories, was a companion to Krishna and a shishya to Arjun, fought alongside Krishna in the war against Banasura, and finally, was the immediate cause of the fratricide that destroyed the Yadavas. A good actor should be selected for him, and he should be Krishna's companion in all his dealings w/ the Pandavas.
