I decided to test myself just to see how much i can write during the 7:30pm DYM time slot. I am not a FF writer, and the only thing I have written in past is school / university plays (a LONG time ago). Plus my story-writing skills are VERY RUSTY! Anyway, I am not even sure if I should continue on this idea but since DYM left some portions ambiguous so I thought to try and scribble a story on those missing pieces. The Thursday 27th August episode has to be my favorite, so this will be my take after those events. The random scribbles will follow Ardhika's night together, as she leaves the signed divorce papers along with her letter behind. This is not proof-read so apologies for all the errors - I don't have time to properly write anything so this will be quite below-par.

Act 1 - The Goodbye

-------------------------------

Scene 1

Radhika had to leave - it was the right thing to do. No matter what the circumstance and feelings, she couldn't come between what was meant to be. Her resolve had faltered last night after seeing Arjun-Sir completely broken, but it was a new day today and she had to fulfil her promise - her promise to Sam. Looking beside her, he was still in deep slumber with an almost child-like expression of innocence on his face. Considering how he had cried in her arms for most of the night, Radhika figured it will be some time before Arjun-Sir would wake up. She guardedly feathered a kiss on his forehead so as not to disturb him, and quickly made leave.

Everything that belonged to her was already packed in the orange suitcase. A frown formed across Radhika's face as she thought how her life would now be like said suitcase, with all the memories wrapped up nicely and closed off from anyone to see. She looked at the green paper in her hand, a letter to her Arjun-Sir - he deserved at least this much from her. He needed to understand why she could never come between him and Sam. Her gaze then landed towards what she had been searching for in the bedroom earlier, the divorce papers lying on dining table. With tears in her eyes, Radhika decided to sign her life away as she initialed her name on those divorce papers.

-------------------------------

Scene 2

Arjun couldn't remember when sleep actually took over him last night, but that her scent was enough to give him all the comfort and peace needed. Though the light shining in their room was enough to break his slumber, he couldn't but drift into a deeper sleep with Radhika in his arms. How she had lovingly held him all night, his head on her chest, and her slender fingers gently caressing his face. Subconsciously, Arjun had felt her lips feather across his forehead and all the weight he had been carrying on his shoulders seemed to fade away. It was as if he was sleeping after a lifetime and just didn't want to wake up in case it all turns out to be a dream.

Leisurely, he sprawled his arm over to move Radhika closer to him, but the bed seemed cold and empty. Arjun slowly opened his eyes, only to see her blue scarf - he quickly turned around but she wasn't there on the other side of bed either. Suddenly, panic struck him as his words from last night came haunting back: "Please don't go, Radhika! Not tonight. I need you. If only for one night, please just stay with me!" Those two words "One Night" kept repeating inside his head in horror as his eyes couldn't trace Radhika anywhere in the room. In all his desperation, he shouted "Radhika" several times and hastily got out of the bed, hoping to find her still in their home.

---------------------------

Scene 3

Radhika stopped dead in her tracks as she heard him yell her name. She looked over her shoulder once with glistened eyes to make sure he wasn't following her, and decided to walk out of Arjun's life forever. Had she stayed a moment longer, and actually saw him, Radhika knew her resolve would break. And that was something she just couldn't do. There was just too much on the line for her: Arjun-Sir's happiness, loyalty to her friendship, and her respect. This was the final goodbye to a life that she wanted yet could never have.

Arjun quickly rushed out the bedroom while shouting her name in his panic-stricken voice. He realized there was no time to waste as Radhika was nowhere to be found; he rushed to grab his car keys from the dining table only to find the dreaded divorce papers signed by his wife along with a note.

Arjun-Sir,

Whatever happened between us was wrong. I was never meant to come between you and Sam. How could I have ever built a home based on someone else's hope and broken dreams? I cannot betray my friendship and create a relation that was never mine to begin with.

Both you and Sam deserve all the happiness in this world. My only wish is for you both to find comfort, peace and love in this life. Please grant me my wish, and set things right. If I ever meant something to you - be it even a hurdle on your way, please fulfil my request.

Our journey was together till this fork in life only. How I wish... This is a new start to our lives; I am returning your happiness and freedom with the signed divorce papers. The stone in your path, the jinx, has finally been removed.

Goodbye,

Radhika

----------------------------

Scene 4

A lump formed in Arjun's throat as he read her letter. Guilt, anger, sadness - there was a storm brewing inside him.

His happiness... if she wants his happiness why did she leave! Oh God, he wanted her to stay forever, not just for one night. Why couldn't he tell her before?! It was never Sam, but only her... only Radhika that his heart truly yearned! He loved his jinx.

With tears in his eyes and frustration taking over him, Arjun angrily ripped the divorce papers and threw her note on the floor. He quickly grabbed his car keys thinking all was not lost - he still could find Radhika and bring her back. As he stepped out the door, he saw Sam standing on his front porch.

Arjun didn't have time for this right now, but then his thoughts went to the letter where Radhika had asked him to set things right for her sake. He couldn't believe he was wasting valuable time in figuring out what the right thing was in said moment.

Sam broke his train of thoughts, "Arjun, we need to talk". With a conflicted mind, Arjun mumbled "Not, now Sam" and giving her a slight glance as he walked past her to his car, he told Sam "We do need to talk - about everything ... But I need to find Radhika first! Please." With those words, he started his car and drove in search of his missing wife.

Oh my God! Is this actually happening? Are you writing an ArDhika FF? You have no idea how excited I am about this!

Anyway, I like how the ending differed from the actual ending of that episode. That's sort of what I wanted to happen, I wanted Arjun to go after his Radhika.

Thanks all.

Honestly, it will be some time before i can update anything - maybe i shouldn't have "tested my thought". I have to take up on mentoring some new grads for the next few months on top of my regular job and home stuff 😕 .
Sorry... i will try but can't promise much!

It's easy to pop in here and reply to comments & post random thoughts every now and then (via phone), but to sit down and write requires some time so it will be a while before i can get to this.

Yea I had a bit of doogie howser in me as I graduated quite young - most new grads are obviously younger but not by much. But the problem is my slots get full first for mentorship because I am more like their peer during all training sessions, but it's something that must be done - time or no time.

Anyway I will stick to the missing parts only in this story - because I can't top the confession! So I guess I'm just filling in the gaps... And @pippa I'll try to word out what you have asked.

As I mentioned this is my take on the missing gaps in DYM conclusion. It has Ardhika with some NeSam and other relevant characters. I am not changing anything that happened on the show ... just portraying what I think may have happened off screen. Joining the puzzle pieces so to speak. Again, it's my version ... everyone may have had a different idea or notion. So all the episodes including finale are still valid for this fic... these are just instances that happened in all that lousy suspense build-up. Plus I loved the Ardhika confession in last episode, so why change something that was awesome to begin with!

Anyway, here is my update ... haven't proof read it - i probably won't be proof reading anything due to time constraints. And my updates will be sporadic. Ignore all the mistakes and errors ... it's quite below par again. Consider it a filler episode, lol. Just as a disclaimer, I am not good at writing romance - and i hate fluff, lol ... tragedies are my thing ... so if you guys are looking for a very romantic puzzle to the piece ... you won't find it - sorry!

Act 2 - In search of Light

---------------------------

Scene 1

Sam stood dumbfounded in front of Arjun's home. His front door completely open, and yet he had taken off without any care. Radhika was missing she thought to herself, but wait isn't that what she had told her the night before?! Unsure of what to do, Sam took trepid steps inside his home and called out for Nandini-di in a hoarse voice. A frown formed across her face as she saw papers, crumpled and torn lying on the floor. Though Sam knew she should walk right out the door and leave, she couldn't but read the contents of said papers. A lone tear escaped her eyes as she read Radhika's letter to Arjun.

Radhika has left so she and Arjun can find happiness; and now Arjun has gone after a missing Radhika! What the hell is happening?! Why is she even here?

With those thoughts, she quickly dialed Neil's number. First, Sam needed to make sure he didn't misconstrue her statement last night. She wanted to choose him not as a friend, but as her partner - for life. That is the only reason she came to Arjun's house, to clear the air and make sure they can both move on in their respective lives.

Just as she had figured, he wasn't picking up her calls. A few unanswered calls later, Sam dialed Prerna Aunty - if anyone could stop Neil, it had to be his mother.

"Hello Aunty"

"Hello... Sam?"

"Aunty... Is Neil there? I need to talk to him - it's URGENT. Please."

"Look Sam, I don't know what happened... but I just want my son to be happy ... if he has decided to move away, I trust his instincts."

"Please Aunty - you have to know ... Idiot must have misunderstood what I told him last night. Please just tell me where he went."

"Hmmm"

"Aunty, please"

"He went to Bird Song to collect all his belongings."

"Thanks Aunty - thank you so much."

----------------------------

Scene 2

Radhika looked at her phone before shutting it off - 14 missed calls from Arjun-sir. With a deep sigh, she just held on to the mangalsutr she was wearing and closed her eyes in an attempt to clear all her thoughts, memories rather. Another couple hours and back in Rishikesh - everything will be ok. The flight was about to take off, and Radhika couldn't help but reminisce her journey to Mumbai; no one would have ever fathomed the turn her life would take in this city of dreams.

City of dreams - oh how her dream had changed! She still wanted to be something', but it would be meaningless if Arjun-sir wasn't by her side. How could she fall for someone she could never be with? Love - well, time heals everything they say ... this too shall pass.

As the plane took off, Radhika couldn't help but look out the window to what she was leaving behind. This was her definite goodbye to Mumbai.

------------------------------------

Scene 3

His phone battery was almost out, 27 unanswered calls. She really knew how to get under his skin. Arjun knew where Radhika was headed, that wasn't a mystery to anyone. That is why he was at the airport only to find out he reached a little too late. He decided to try his luck and call Maa in Rishikesh.

"Hello?"

"Who is this?" an elderly voice answered.

"It's Arjun. Can I please talk to Maa?" he asked warily.

"She is not at home right now."

"Is... Is this Dada-ji?"

"Hmm"

"Dada-ji ... look I know Radhika is heading home to be with you all... please call me as soon as she reaches there, and please tell Maa to contact me too - it's very important!"

"Did you break my Choti's heart?"

Arjun wasn't expecting to be asked that and that too so bluntly. Of course, it's her Dada-ji whom she gets her guts from! After a few moments, Arjun replied in a broken voice "Hmm... I think so. But please I need to fix this - I promise - just please give my message to Maa and call me when Radhika reaches there. My number is 9632581; Maa has it too. Your Choti is not answering any of my calls - I need to make sure she is ok - please, Dada-ji. "

"The harder the conflict, the more glorious the outcome!"

With that confusing quote, Dada-ji hung up the phone. What the ... the harder the conflict, the more what... Is it Radhika who takes after Dada-ji or the latter who takes after her!? Sigh... A part of him was relieved knowing Radhika will be with her family soon. But in his heart Arjun knew, he could not afford to give her space for long, he wasn't sure if that space would further distance her from him; he just couldn't let her go, not now, not ever.

Arjun sat back in the car, his head resting against the car seat as he pinched the bridge of his nose. Replaying everything in his mind, exasperation engulfed him. To think he could have had everything and to throw it all away for nothing. He really needed to set things right and keep Radhika's promise.

"I just need to see myself through her eyes and it will be ok - truth triumphs everything, right?!" Arjun couldn't help but say those words out loud, almost as a reassurance.

-------------------------------

Scene 4

Neil took a last look at his office cabin. It was early in the morning and he was leaving everything that reminded of her behind. There was no point to it; Sam had chosen Arjun once again. How could she be so blind?! He had married Chaashni - no one forced him to! And this "Abla Nari" was now leaving her husband just so Sam can be happy. Sometimes he hated Radhika for being so selfless. Sam had made her choice, and now it was his turn to remove from her life completely.

Closing the lights, he grabbed the box of his personal items and walked out of Bird Song.

"Neil!"

And there stood Sam in front of him just outside the main entrance, trying to catch her breath with tears in her eyes.

"Not now Sammy", replied Neil trying to feign indifference.

"You can't leave, you don't understand."

"Please ... there is nothing left to say or understand... just move out of my way."

"No!"

After a few moments of silence in the contest of who can outstare each other, Neil replied, "He picked Chaashni, didn't he!"

"Yes! No... I mean I don't love Arjun!"

Neil raised his eyebrow quizzically.

"Can you just put that stupid box down for a moment, please?!"

He knew Sam was fired up so it was best to listen to her, if only for a moment. He laid the box down on the concrete floor and folded his arms across with a slight nod for her to carry on. He wasn't sure what happened next as he couldn't breathe. Sam had just kissed him - on the lips. What?! Wait, that was perfect.

With her gaze lowered, Sam started to mumble "Umm... I just wanted to make sure... that... umm"

Before she could complete her nonsensical sentence, Neil had grabbed her arm and kissed her ever so gently, again. As they moved slightly apart to catch their breath, Neil whispered "Me too", and hugged his Sammy.
