Chapter 37A
"Waise aaj tum bahut aache lag rahe ho," I say, leaning towards Raghu. "Oh really?" he asks. "Main jhoot nahi bolti," I reply and laugh. "Chal, yeh sab chod aur woh dekh, Chachu aur teri Di aa gaya," he says pointing to the top of the stairs.
I look up and see my gorgeous Di. One day, Raghu and I would be there. I couldn't wait for that day. I sneak a glance at Raghu and smile, imaging what our life would be after marriage. Sure right now we were all lovey dovey, but that's not what marriage is about, right? I always believed that marriage is one of the most beautiful relationships on Earth. It was about living your life with the one you loved and supporting them throughout, no matter what happened. I think that I am ready for all of this now, especially if Raghu is by my side. If he's with me, then nothing can go wrong.
Looking at my chachu, I imagine my life with Antara. It's going to be amazing. It wasn't something that I had thought that I would ever be ready for, but now look at me. I proposed to her and it was serious. We would be getting engaged soon and then married. Spending my entire life with my Miss. Kaul had only been a dream so far and pretty soon, it was going to be reality. But before anything else, we had to get rid of that Satya. Once he was gone from out lives, everything would be absolutely perfect.
I looked towards one of the police officers one the other side of the room. I was pretty sure that Satya would try to come here and I wanted to be prepared just in case. The earrings that I had given Antara had contained a little GPS tracker, just in case something happened to her and I wasn't there. Not that I would ever let anything happen to her but you never know with Satya. He had done it before. I had decided that I wouldn't let Antara out of my sight at all today.
We all clapped as the newly wedded couple finished their first dance. They were looking perfect together, the smile on their faces reflecting in their eyes. "Now we would like to invite all of the couples on the dance floor. Come on guys, grab a partner and come on out," the DJ called. "Dance?" I asked, offering Antara my hand. She giggled and took it.
The dance floor was crowded with all of the couples but we found some room. Raghu and I were pushed really close together, with almost no room between us. I didn't mind though. I put my arms around his neck and Raghu touched his forehead to mine and we swayed to the music.
"I love you," I whisper in his ear. "I love you even more," he replies. I smile. We continued to sway to the music until the song ended. "I think ki mujhe-" I say when I am cut off. "Tu kahin nahi jaa ri," he says and pulls me back. "Raghu, kya kar rahe ho, sab dekh rahe hain," I say, looking around. "Toh dekhne do, mujhe toh sirf meri Miss. Kaul dikhai deri hai." "Raghu." I take his hands off of my neck and say, "I'll be right back." I turn around and walk away from the dance floor.
She wasn't supposed to go. I follow her but lose her in the crowd of people. This was not good. Antara, come back quickly!
I went to go grab a drink when I felt someone pull me by my wrist and drag me out. Thinking it was Raghu, I didn't stop them. But that touch, it wasn't Raghu's. Raghu's touch was warm, this was cold. I look up to see who it is but before I can even see their face, I feel something hit the back of my head and all is see is black.
I walk around like crazy, looking for her. She wasn't anywhere. "Riya, ruk," I say stopping her. "Tune kahin Antara ko dekha?" "Haan, I saw her go that way," she says, pointing in the direction of the door. Oh no. Was it possible that he had... no. "Theek hai," I say and let her go. I head off to one of the police officers and tell them what had happened. We all head out to look for her but find nothing there. Where could he have taken her?
I walk out the gate and see something on the ground. I walk closer and pick it up. It was Antara's necklace, the one that I had given to her on her birthday. Where did she go? I take out my phone and connect to the GPS that I had put in her earrings. She hadn't gone too far away. She was still nearby. I tried to call her but it kept saying that it was switched off. I quickly get in my jeep, heading off in the direction that the GPS was leading me in, leaving the police behind. I had to find her on my own. This was my battle to fight.
