I normally write very less here but I just couldn't resist. See kissing or having sex as well is a very personal prerogative. Indian or not , its about how comfortable you are with your body and choices. Ofcouse being aware about protection and intimacy is a very good thing. But this in no certain ways has any reflective on a girl's morality or the society. OUr society has way too many evils to deal with then dictate and look down on a girl's personal choices.

FOr young girls, its important to learn how to rein in their emotions and be aware of their body. They need to learn that its ok to be intimate with someone if they feel comfortable enough. But be sure to draw the line where it becomes uncomfortable. Talk to your girls and tell them its normal to be attractive to somebody. Just dont be obsessive about it. Love happens many times and just be confident in who they are. Communication rather than policing them would go a long way.

At the end like I mentioned its personal call, if you feel like kissing do it and if you don't then be firm with that No!

Well put genie, ultimately its the girl's choice and being coerced into something she doesn't want to do is wrong as well as moral policing someone. Its about an individual choice at the end of the day and everyone needs to respect that, whether its the girl's significant other or regular people. Ultimately the choice lies with the girl. The more you make these things as abnormal, the more the temptation to try out. And communication is a must because you can protect the, when they are comfortable enough to confide in you.

lol forget it im wasting my time and yours. bye. and just so you know the centuries behind us were much "bolder" than we are now. There was so much of infidelity and homosexuality in mid 18th century society in closed doors but as usuall everyone looks down upon it in the surface but deep inside enjoys it. And i think sexual expression kept as a taboo is a big reason why so many rapes happen in our country. We have so many men who are sexually frustrated because society keeps on seeing sex as a big taboo , so whatever they feel sexually stores up as sexual frustration and when that goes to extreme , it ends up as a product of girls being raped. if there were proper sex education and no hush hush about sex in society along with gender sensitivity classes then Im god damn sure India would not be so infected with rape as it is now.

I think you got the poster wrong, by century she meant change. And its a good change , the more emancipated we are, less crimes like rape will happen in our society. We need to move towards that mindset where if we come across a couple kissing then we should go all haw , rather we should take it casually and dont judge them . The soon we as a society start consideringsexuality as a normal thing the more progressive and develop we will become. I repeat there is nothing wrong or criminal with intimacy. If you dont like it then that is simply your call and nobody would judge you for that and nor should you.

Terms like "bold" seem a bit patronizing, kissing , sex or a girl with such wants in no way is connected to our culture . That is her personal right , let her be.

lol sita i dont know which indian society you are talking about cause in the india i lived in my entire life , there almost every girl around me except me has gone way way further than just kissing when we were in high school . it was very common for half of the girls in my school and other schools across kolkata to have lost their virginity during high school. So I dont know which indian society you are talking about. I know so many conservative Indian parents' children who have gone much much further than just second base and were much younger than me.lol. India is extremely promiscuous , much more promiscuous than you think but its all done in secrecy cause everyone in our society pretends to see it as a taboo but secretly enjoys it . That's the hypocrisy of our society. Moreover , some girls feel that they shed their inhibitions when they go physical , and some don't and some feel that they do at one time and don't feel the same the next time , i mean it is all about ones point of view , and change in perception and action is constant and we can never judge that. ones so called moral standards i feel should only apply to themselves..they should not be the judging parameters for others around them. I always do that. Thats why I have best friends who are completely opposite to me in such matters.

The stories I can share fromChennai 10 years ago are much more than this. And like you said the girls from conservative houses were the worst, they got into a lot of trouble because they could not talk to their parents openly. But my policy is not to judge and try telling people what is right or wrong, your standards are not everyone's standards.

and what harm is there in dating and going to restaurants? People take one hour to receive and rescue a naked raped body laying on the road dripping with blood with their organs out but they take absolutely no time in catching people doing things as normal as dating? Incredible india. and theres nothing shocking about losing your virginity or dating - i mean it is something very natural and whether you do it now or not all depends on your choice. thats the only difference , but everyone ultimately does it one time or the other , when you choose to do it completely depends on you and its your life so youll do what you want.

Sita, I was thinking whether to comment on this post or not but after reading your reply to @charminggenie I just had to. First of all this question itself is way too personal, entirely depends on a person's perspective. If you were my teacher I would be shocked that you had asked such a question in an entertainment forum. As my teacher I expect you to teach what is right for me and what is taught by every parent in the society and you know what should be the answer to this question. Even as a parent you teach the good things to your kids but it depends whether the kids would follow it or not. Everyone have their own perspective as they grow up and that can be seen in the different comments as well, which is absolutely right. But we don't learn anything from them, it is we as an individual who have to decide whether it is right or wrong. Are you by any chance asking this question because you have doubts or is it based on what is shown in DDEJ ? As far as a show is concerned anything can be shown in a show since it is purely for entertainment. We don't need to take any lessons from them, that is why a real and reel life is always different. As for the actors it is their job & career, it is their right to decide what they should do or not. Sorry if I offended you in any way.
