Brilliant piece of writing Naina Di, and you have summed up everything which is the current need of the hour 👏 👏

With regard to the issue that why doesn't every Sandhya find a proper Suraj, the issues are many, ranging from ego problems to perverted mind 🥱 We men never rest easy when we see a woman walking ahead of us and beating us in academics & workplace, well this is the issue with the majority of men, and regarding crimes, well it is happening irrespective of males & females, but now it is more towards women, agree with many here that respect to a woman should be taught right from childhood and there should be no discrimination/favor granted for a boy or girl child, but unfortunately discrimination is yet to go and situations aren't that rosy at the moment, hopefully it will change for the better in upcoming days.

Nice to read a thought-provoking post & awesome replies of everyone around here. ⭐️ ⭐️ 👏
Agree with Uma Ji's points 👏

The one thing I would like to say is that for me, perhaps the most important point you made was when you said "But this hybridism in the society needs to vanish. Not slowly but as soon as possible." It's this sense of urgency which we must have! We simply cannot afford to wait. We waited until our capital became the city with the highest rate of rape in India, we can't afford to wait until our country becomes the place with the highest rate of violence against women in the world (apparently, we are not that far off)! I am happy to see that the sense of urgency has set in Delhi (as evident by the protests). This urgency however, should not have a linear, but rather exponential growth!
Now, you may say, chill out Samir! Change will happen when it happens. NO! Change will happen when YOU make it happen! This is simply a law of the universe! And why should we chill?! People have spilled their blood to give us freedom; the least we can do is raise our blood pressure to maintain that same freedom! And mind you, the onus is not just on women's/human rights groups! I'm talking about every man and women in our society. Yes, both sexes, even women! (MissCooleyes, you have already highlighted this point in your post, but I felt it to be important enough to be reiterated). The point being, we should all have a sense of urgency to change things! We can't wait for history to take its course; we are not going towards history ... we are going towards the future! Start at home, change things, go local, expand,... just don't wait!
Now, don't think that I can't relate to the issue, because I'm not living in India. This problem is not an Indian problem; it's a global problem. Even in our community, a vigorous 'white ribbon campaign' took place last month. (basically, wearing a white ribbon signifies your pledge to 'never commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women and girls'. And this campaign is mainly targeted toward men).
To be honest, my initial reaction to this thread was to end my post with just writing the first line. It took a lot from me to say what I have said beyond that line. Thus, I urge you to take what I've said seriously as well.

Thank you for your excellent reply SamiR. I don't know which country you are talking about when you say about the "White Ribbon Campaign". But the fact that even a country as developed as USA has not been able to find a single female president till now in itself tell a shady story.

Nice reply by everyone.⭐️.

@Ghajini Amma:- You've put my thoughts on CHANGE so well.👍🏼 I always believe "Be the change - if you wish to change the world." It's baseless if you demand to change the mindset of people when you're incapable to change yourself.😕.

I'd like to add one point here - As we all are aware about the fact that we're moving towards destruction so in the upcoming years things will get worsen than what we're experiencing/seeing at present. It will be better if we make ourselves mentally strong enough to face it n accept it..

It's very difficult to change mindset of every individual - it doesn't matter how people behave with us, what really counts how we respond to them.

Regarding worse situation of women - I believe somewhere we're responsible for that as well..

Thank you Ami bakudi 😊 The point is to not make peace thinking that things will only go bad.. Each one of our thoughts definitely affects the society. After all, society is what we make it.😊 It's excatly like how a the living culture of a home depends on the people living in it.

Superb thoughts Naina Di... 😳⭐️⭐️

In fact an excellent and necessary idea to be spread among the Indian Subcontinet for which all of them follow similar customs, we have friends of neighboring country here and they do have similar situations there, Nepal ya Sri Lanka...!!😊

And as mentioned above by friends, I think we all ought to be a CHANGE else nothing will happen!!😳

And Actually I wanted to post a new year resolution post titled "be a Sandhya" but didn't get tame,🥱
So glad to have a post of similar thought, Naina Di...!!!😳😳

In fact Indians need to change their small to large habits to develop a better society! 😕

I dunno how many of you follow such things, like keeping the traffic rules, not throwing things down the train or vehicle etc... I even earn a lot of grumpy faces since I tell many not to do so, starting from family to unknown fellow travelers...!!😕

Thank you for your inputs Vishnu. We are definitely moving towards better. There a group of people who are educated enough to be responsible for themselves. This needs to reach the masses.Every nook and corner of the society and we rely on our leaders to do that who have failed us miserably. We also rely on our mass-media and it is to a large extent doing its job. And then the rest is upon all of us to spread the same information through ways small and big.Education will play a huge role too,
