Part 5- Lovely and Atul meet...
Anjali and Atul were in the locker room. Atul was sitting down and taking a rest. As he closed his eyes Sapna walked, looking dreamy.
'Tumhe kya hua? [What happened to you?] question Anjali.
'Hmmm..' replied Sapna.
'I said, whats with you?' Anjali said annoyed.
'Nothing, nothing!' said Sapna finally coming out of her dreamland.
She had met a doctor who was a friend of DR.Shubankar. He had spoken to her kindly and had come there to meet DR.Shubhankar. She didn't exactly get a chance to find out his name because one of the patients had had an emergency. All she knew was how the doc had looked. He was tall, pretty good looking and he was smart. He had helped her with the patient while DR.Shubhankar had been out a while. Oh, if only she knew his name....
Ridhima walked in looking depressed. She ran to her Di and put her arms around her.
'Ridzi, Ridzi kya hua? [Ridzi Ridz, what happened?] asked Anjali sounding worried.
'Woh Di, yahan par Dhoni hai aur aur..{ Dhoni is here and and...] she couldn't continue because the tears had come.
Anjali glanced at Armaan who had followed Riddhima in.
'Voh, um Dhoni ko blood cancer hai[ Um Dhoni has blood cancer.] said Armaan.
'kya..[what?] gasped Anjali, and she tightened her grip on Riddhima. After a while Riddhima got a pager from Dr. Shashank Gupta and left to meet him. He was in his office.As soon as she left, Atul bolt upright, he had opened his eyes when he heard Ridhima cried but now he wanted to know why there were tears in her eyes.
Anjali explained that there was a nursing home in Lonalva. This summer Ridhima had visited there with their father. Dhoni was her fav. kid there and he had looked pretty pale last time they were there. He could barely move or walk. He had called out his girlfriend's name..Ridhima's out loud a lot of times during the night. When she came he looked worse than ever. Our dad, he's a doctor had done some reports and admitted him in the hospital. Done some reports and before the results could come out Ridhima had to start her internship. She tried to contact him but it was no hope. And now she finds out like this that Dhoni, poor soul, has cancer.
Atul got up and went to Dr.Shashank's office right away.
'Poor Ridz,'he muutered. 'First, that stupid Armaan is bothering her and on the first day of work she has to cure her little boyfriend from blood cancer.' As he walked he wasn't paying attention where he was walking. He bumped into someone big. He was about to fall when strong arms caught him. He opened one eye and say a someone very big. A nurse who was smiling down at him, her eyes unfocused and dreamy. He coughed and she realized him and let go. He fell down but got up quickly before she could touch him.
'OH, sorry hai ji.' replied the nurse.
'It's okay,' Atul muttered as he made to walk away.
'Oh, aap ka naam kya hai. Mera naam Lovely hai, ji.' said Nurse Lovely.
'Mera naam Atul hai aur mujhe jaana hai.' said Atul and he hurried away.
