Part 3- Dr. Keerti

'Dr. Anjali?' called the senior doctor's voice.
'Here' rang Anjali's voice into the empty silence.
'Dr.Atul?' called the senior's voice.
'Here' replied an innocent voice It came from the man standing next to Riddhima.
'Dr. Sapna?' called voice again.
'Here' squeaked a terrified voice, coming from next to Ridhima.
'Dr.Armaan?' said the voice.
'Here, ma'am!' answered Dr Armaan, it was cool and he was trying to avoid Ridhima's eye because she looked at bursting point.
'And lastly, Dr. Ridhima?' questioned the senior voice.
'HERE!' she replied a bit loudly and angrily.
The senoir doctor ignored this and introduced herself to the 5 interns.
'Hello, I am Dr.Keerti and am your senior doctor. I am glad that no one was late on their first day at work because I absolutely despise late comers. Today you are working at Sanjeevani. I am to tell you all about the rules and regulations of the hospital but first I wish to tell my three rules that you must all follow.
1. Always be on time.
2. Answer your pagers on the first ring.
3. Don't talk to me loudly. (She stared at Ridhima, making Ridhima go red in the face.)
So.....(and she told the interns about the rules of Sanjeevani.) Okay there are five pagers on the table, eash one bearing your name. Please retrieve your pager after I tell your duties for the day. You are to be at your duty or ward in five minutes. Got it? Okay so your duties are as follows:
Dr.Anjali and Dr.Atul are to be in the ICU. You will be working with me there.
Dr.Sapna you will work in the general ward where you shall meet Dr.Shubhanker and he shall tell you your patient.
Dr.Ridhima and Dr.Armaan, you two are to be in the cancer ward and there is a new patient in the hospital. He is a child and has blood cancer. You will meet Nurse Lovely there and she will be all the help you need. Understood? Okay get your pagers.'

Ridhima walked to the table and noticed no pagers were left. She turned to go and tell Dr. Keerti when she heard whistling right behind her. She turned around to find Dr. Armaan standing there. She looked at his hand and saw that he was holding her pager. She made to grab it but he pulled it out of her reach. He stuck out a thumbs down and slowly made it into a thumbs up.
'Here!' and handed her, her pager.
'Shall we go Dr.Basket?' Armaan questioned, smiling goofily at her. He walked away while she glared at his back. She walked out and met with the other interns.
'Hi, I'm Dr. Sapna!' called Sapna chirply sticking her hand out to Riddhima.
'And I'm Dr. Atul!' came his sing song voice. He stuck out his hand. Ridhima shook their hands.
'Hi, I'm Dr...' Ridhima began.
'Basket!' coughed Armaan..interrupting Ridhima middway through her sentence.
She was angered and made to hit him but Armaan cowered infront of her said 'Please, spare me my life. I don't wanna die so young. I still have to get married and if I die a bacehlor than thousands of girls will die to, hearing their beloved Armaan had died.' Anjali smiled at him at this.
'Ridzi, stop bothering him. Just leave it.' She smiled at Armaan but gave a stern look to Ridhima meaning just forget it.
'Par Di..' said Ridhima misinterpeting the look for an 'its-ok' look.
'Kya, you mean to say that you to are sisters? Impossible!' said Armaan. 'I mean Anjali..you are so pretty and sophisticated while Basket here isn't the world's best looking, but looks like a donkey!'

Atul glanced at his watch and said that they better get to their wards it's getting late. Dr. Keerti would skin them alive if they were late. So Anjali and Atul went off for the ICU. Sapna left to the general ward. Armaan and Ridhima left to the cancer ward.

When Armaan had called Ridhima a donkey she hadn't yelled at him or expressed any anger, she hadn't said anything. Now he was calling her names like behnji and basket. But she wasn't responding in fact she was smiling.
'Helloooo...basket? Tum teek toh ho na?' {Hello Basket, are you alright?}called Armaan.
'Haan mein toh teek hoon, kyun? Kuch hua kya? {Yes, I am fine. Why? Did something happen?} questioned Ridhima.

Ridhma and Armaan reached the cancer ward. Ridhma asked for Nurse Lovely and saw her near a bed at the end of the ward.

That's it for now. Please comment. I might post another part in a couple of hours but if i get some more comments.

Part 4- Dhoni

When Ridhima reached Nurse Lovely, who was a potatoe of a woman,she noticed that Nurse Lovely had a horrified look on her face. On one of the report papers there was something written that had left Lovely's mouth open.

'Kya hua? {What happened?}' asked Ridhima, worried.

Lovely's mouth opened but no sound came out. She just held out the clip board. As soon as it was in Ridhima's hands lovely began to cry.

'Sorry hai ji. Voh is ladka ne meri jaan le li hai. Yahan aye hua ek ganta bhi nayi hua aur theen bar bhag chuka hai ji. [Sorry, this boy has taken my life. He hasn't been here one hour and ran away three times already.]' cried Lovely out of irritation. 'Aur is baar reports par likh liya usne. [And this time he wrote on the reports!]' she finished.

'Well, you know what to do. Go and get another copy of these reports. We need them to see what we can do. Dr. Bas...I mean Ridhima and I will go and look for this boy. What is his name?' solved Armaan quickly and cooly.

'Teek hai ji. [Okay]' replied Lovel relieved that she didn't have to look for him. 'Uska naam Harsh hai par voh Dhoni naam pasand kartha hai.[ His name is Harsh but he likes the name Dhoni better.]

Lovely left. Armaan walked forward out of the cancer ward. He looked back to make sure Ridhima had been following him but she had stayed rooted to her spot. He backtracked. Ridhima was staring at the file in her hand. She hadn't taken in a word of Lovely's after she had looked at the writing. It couldn't be his writing. No...no it couldn't be. There were thousands of people coming to Sanjeevani..and many people could put a smiley when they finished writing. It couldn't be him..no matter how much Ridhima tried to convince herself a lone tear still slipped down her cheek.

'Hey Basket! Tum teek toh ho na? [ Hey Basket! You fine right?] asked Armaan wondering what he could have possibly done to make her cry.

'Yah..' she replied slowly wiping her tear and follwing his lead. 'Waise uska naam kya hai?[ Anyways, whats his name?]'

'Harsh..mera matlab Dhoni. [Harsh...I mean Dhoni.]' replied Armaan deciding not to tease her.

Ridhima stopped in her tracks. It was him he'd been the only one who'd preferred Dhoni over Harsh..well atleast he was the only one she knew that preferred to be called Dhoni. No it wasn't possible...Dhoni couldn't have b-blood cancer.

'No...' cried Ridhim softly.

Armaan turned turn to see that she was a few feet back. he walked back to her. She looked pale and couldn't support her own weight. He ran to her and put an Armaan around her shoulder. She collapsed. A few seconds later she opened her eyes. She ran from Armaan's arms asking every one in sight about Dhoni. Finally after several minutes she found him hiding under a bed in the general ward.

'One...two...three'Ridhima pulled Dhoni from under the bed and gave him a hug. 'So how's it going boyfriend?'she asked giving him a slight smile.

'Girlfriend? Tum aur yahan? [ Girlfriend you and here?]' cried Dhoni. He flung his arm around her and gave her a hug.

'Arre tumhe yaad nahi ki mein doctor bangayi. Aur mein kya sun rahi hoon tumhare baare mein? Tum Nurse Lovely ko pareshan kyun kar rahe ho? [ Don't you remember, today I became a doctor. And what am I hearing about you? You are harassing Nurse Lovely?]' questioned Ridhima.

'Well, girlfriend you know how it is. It is so boring in a hospital and you have to have some fun so i just wanted that but I won't be bored now that you are here.' he replied.

'Well, let's get you back to your bed.' said Ridhima, holding his hand and leading the way out.

Meanwhile, Armaan had been behind her the whole time. How did she know Dhoni and it wasn't him who had done anything to make her cry. Awww man..he gave up a chance for teasing her for no reason. Well next time sunny boy.

Armaan followed Ridhima out and went to check up on Dhoni.
