Aunty & Jareth, I loved your debate. It was healthy and constructive. I agree with both of you. It's just two different lookouts of a character. Both are right.

Jareth, please try to be regular in this forum. It's great to have you here. You pointed out some amazing facts.

Awww thanks! I'll definitely try to be more active 😊
And I definitely enjoyed the discussion here, I don't know about everyone else but I tend to completely immerse myself in the characters I read about or watch on screen. It helps me with my poetry and writing when I get the time to do either :)

You are a diplomat in the making, my dear Mihrimah! 😉 I am glad you enjoyed this exchange.

I too always enjoy a good debate, and Jareth is a tenacious, meticulous, and stimulating.interlocutor.. I was, and still am, in poor shape, otherwise I would not have called a halt to it so soon😉.

For example, one could have discussed the curious blind eye turned by many here to the criminal insouciance with which the Reformed Rocky gasses a hotel-ful (sic) of people to hit at Happy, on the assurance of his lafanga dost that no one would be hurt.

Of course he says that if someone were to die - which was entirely possible given that there were children there and there could have been asthmatics or otherwise weakened persons - he would never forgive himself. And then " Tumne mujhse yeh sab kyon karwaya Happy?", making it all Happy's fault.😡

What would have happened to Rocky had he been caught? Apart from his earlier sentence, the gassing, a major crime, would have resulted in another heavy sentence, maybe to run concurrently, maybe consecutively. It was not just criminal, it was pure lunacy.

Whereas RV, rightly condemned for his past crime - when it all comes out, he will be disbarred and jailed - is also condemned, Minority Report fashion, for anticipated future crimes!

One has to take ALL.the given facts into account while assessing a character, not only those that support one's thesis.

But perhaps it was for the best that I bowed out. Sharply differing points of view cannot be reconciled by arguments. It is a waste of time and effort trying even to modify them, and my energy levels are rather depleted these days.

If you had not posted this comment, I would never have returned to this topic. I have had more than enough of it, more than enough of double standards, and almost enough of this show as well.

Good night, kid.

Jareth!

Your inputs are amazing and I love how you took deep dig to RV the Mahaan. Honestly, I had the same brainstorming of the character ever since his entry and I honestly don't see his main goal of becoming a support to Happy other than becoming an uninvited third wheel in between Roha? Why would he have a sudden so much emotions towards a lady who he merely met for a week and not have any connection to Anaya who he is probably lived more than enough to truly call a relationship?I love how you said, RV has truly snatched the things which only Roha shared. He saw everything didn't he...? The playful holi interactions between Roha and how greedily he was stocking them with his eyes as if his evil eyes has already cursed the relationship Roha were barely producing.

The character RV has lost his integrity the day he forced Rocky to be sentenced for jail. I knew since then nothing he or anyone can do to retain it back. Maybe if he had told everything within few months after his guilt, things would have made more sense. The track he is currently on right now will take him no where except for the endless misery of hate from Happy and ofcourse no proper career filled life that he once had. Not only will he lose Happy but will also lose Anaya. Not only he will lose people's trust but will even lose the self confidence he once took a pride on.! More appropriately putting... RV digged his own grave unintentionally.

RV is no where close to Rocky because Rocky made mistake, he was punished, he sincerely apologized and redeemed himself only to gather himself together for his family. I am glad he didn't sit, but took the advantage of his luck being so kind on him to give him another chance to prove himself innocent! If people actually looked at Rocky from the start, they will know what kind of transformation he has been through which deserves the respect at all means!

Happy to read your post Jareth! :)

this show actually gives shocking twist..first happy married chintu..then instead of forcefully marrying happy Rocky turned into new leaf...then after leap although angry and disappointed in happy he doesn't have any misunderstanding of happy being involved in any conspiracy which is a relief..also instead of taking revenge he is more concerned about proving his innocence to her ND tell her 'i told you so'..he doesn't have any intention of destroying her life or to make her Cry "khoon k aansoo" which mostly ML's do ..so for that reason this show actually deserve a chance although it's execution sucks..

I hope you get well soon and please do rest your hands and do not over exert yourself
Coming to some of the points you stated, I can perhaps answer some as I have to be up in a few hours and at the hospital :
You mentioned that rocky put the blame of what he did with the gas fumes on happy. It's wrong. But it's also a human reaction. Look at it from his point of view for a minute. There would have been no need to do all this had happy simply believed him. Does it justify his blame? No. But its human nature to blame others for your actions and in his case, he's been left to rot in jail for a crime he did not commit. To clear his name he has to do things that are wrong. In his mind he is justified.
And did RV not say something to the same effect to his brother Ranveer? Did he not blame his brother? When he put an innocent man in jail? I am pretty sure the same applies here too. Rv could have stood for justice, his brother was not holding a gun to his head, ten years in prison was not a noose. He could have sent him to jail and shown that he is a man of justice first. He didn't. And then heblames his brother for it. Again it's human nature and while this too is wrong, it is understandable
Secondly the gas fumes and the damage they could have caused. Look if someone has severe asthma they'll be carrying their medications with them. If say someone is not and experiences what we call acute exacerbation, simply removing them from the area where the allergen is will help them. That and oxygen. People don't die from asthma unless they are kept in that place with no medical help or unless they have a added infection. There are simple ways in today's world of technology to manipulate the concentration of gas and im pretty sure the concentration was kept at non dangerous levels. Doors were open. People could simply move out. And rocky kept going to make sure that everyone was okay. This was what we call a controlled environment where at the most oxygen would have to provided. Rocky had no intentions to hurt anyone which is why he stuck around. he clearly regreted his actions which is why when didnt attempt something like this again. It was wrong but not as dangerous as you think. And at the end of the day it is a show where there are going to be things larger than life, almost unbelievable but its a show meant for adding entertainment in life.

The point of replying to you was not so that you ignore your health and reply. Please put your health first and then when you feel better I would like to read your response. It is a fun discussion
And i do see why you like RV but I just like rocky more :P

Dear Jareth,

It is just past 4 am, and I have still not managed to fall asleep. So I thought I would drop you a quick note to thank you for the patience with which you explained some of the points I had raised, and even more so for your concern about my health.

I might not agree completely with your takes, but there are areas of agreement 😉, and we shall explore the areas of disagreement soon.

Only one quick point now. It is not so much RV whom I like as Rohit, who is a controlled, nuanced and subtle actor. He was the same in these respects as Alexander, though of course that role was an iconic one and offered him vastly more scope.

My tribulations are not only.due to the RA, which is by now, after nearly 4 years, an old friend and an inseparable one😉.
Methinks I look for variety😉, in my ailments, so for the last 5 odd months, there is a pinched and inflamed nerve near the base of the neck, which lets me hold my head up, literally, only intermittently. I have to lie flat for chunks of the day, with a very thin pillow. No wonder I start posting regardless of the RA!😉 And when I am.up, I walk with my head bent, like a demure, sanskaari bahu (minus the pallu)😆. Allopathy.failed totally, homeopathy is like watching the grass grow and the improvement is not much. Today, I am.going to try acupuncture. Wish me luck, for I need it.

OK, now I shall see if I can drop off for three hours at least..You must be murderously busy at the hospital. It is a very heavy workload at all.times, and worse when crises strike. Take care, my dear

I feel jasmin is the best in doing funny, tashan waali, ladaaku, angry bird, outspoken,, bold characters She nails in these roles.
I love jasmin but I feel she is not good at these kind of mature and sad roles. Not putting her down but she is they best at clumsy and immature roles. Nowadays I kind of dislike happy because there is not a single episode where she doesn't cry. As twinkle she looked cute while crying Even in kkk9 she looked cute while crying But as happy I really don't like her crying Don't know whether it's her makeup or her expressions but something is not right when she cries and her serious expressions are not good as she has got a smiley face

Hi Aunty! I am so sorry for the delayed response (I was on call again)
How is your health? Did acupuncture help?
Coming to the show, to be honest I can understand your POV. I would feel the same way if I had been watching this for my favourite actor after seeing their phenomenal performance in another show. I get it. All I can say is, maybe his character will get better as the show progresses but I think you realize it too that this is hollow hope. Wish you could have enjoyed the show as well.
As for me, I am wholeheartedly enjoying the story while it remains good (in my POV)
Please take care of your health :)

Also (since you loved pride and prejudice) have you read north and south by Elizabeth gaskell? There's a BBC series as well. If you haven't, I would recommend it.
The novel came out about 10-20 years after Pride And prejudice and Elizabeth gaskell was inspired by jane austin so there are similarities (the male protagonist blunders through the first proposal in this one too :P)
