The acting is very good. Everyone is doing great. I think Om, Gauri and KT all have great screen presence in their scenes. Shrenu is superb. So far she has impressed me a lot. When her character was announced I felt she was too typical, getting KKG vibes from her etc. (Didn't think she was the same but similar style etc).
But Shrenu has really justified her and I enjoyed watching her almost from the very first scene. Accept for the scenes where they tried to show Om throwing money and doing things which are not in character, Om has stayed pretty consistent too. I like the way he shows his anger and disgust without being too dramatic. His expressions speak for themselves. How he cringes and looks away in disgust has the best effect, which theatrical gestures would not. Kunal is looking killing in this avatar anyway and he is justifying Om's stance on women he thinks of as selfish home wreckers. He is biased and judgemental but at least they have given him a back story and a reason to be. Not random bias.
Khali Thakur is chilling and his acting is gripping as well. He really gives you the creeps. Rahul Dev said in an interview he liked how understated KT is. He is dangerous but he is not loud and over the top. Even I like that. If he shouts too much the effect will be less. The quieter he is the more chilling he is.
So far DBO is very gripping and even though the first episode I felt like I was in IB overload, the rest of the week proved me wrong, and it exceeded my expectations story wise. Gauri's character not being shown too loud and OTT for too long and getting serious fast has actually made it a better watch for me.
