Yes maybe possible but ghar pe Om Swetlana se zyada Tej se sarcastic hota tha, and we all sensed that somewhere or the other he loved Tej deeply

So I feel that just like he didn't like Tej being bad (was happy when Tej had started becoming a family man), he somehow doesn't want Gauri to be bad either (although here the intensity is much low as he hardly knows Gauri, but somehow the first impression he might have felt that the girl is good and with self respect so he somehow wants that she isn't bad

Same is with Gauri although she met Omkara in angry young man avatar with him literally taking away her livelihood, but somewhere deep down the heart she does feel that this man is good and therefore tried to seek help from him
