I agree with every word of yours, Sucheta... You know, there are some incidents that shock you to an extent that the shock transforms into extreme pain & anguish and you are forced to speak out, shout or write or do something to register your protest, your feelings...
And then there are some forms of sheer brutality that, when they come to light, shock you to the extent that you become numb with pain & fear & sadness... You feel hapless & you feel at a desperate loss for words... There are so many things that you want to say, maybe you want to cry or wail loudly; berate the insanity all around you that is taking innocent lives... But you are so paralysed by the mental agony & incredulity that some people are capable of such barbarity, that words completely escape you... That is exactly how I felt when I read of the Nirbhaya tragedy two years back...And the feeling has returned post the Peshawar tragedy... Cannot even imagine what the families must be going through...
