Mahakali offered him 2 sweets - one had the fruit of wealth/power (I forget which), and other that of knowledge. She asked him to pick any one. But before she could do anything, Mr Tenali just grabbed both and ate them 🤣 managing to anger her again. So she gave a mixed blessing and curse - that he'd have them both, but he'd also have plenty of enemies who'd always be conspiring against him 😈👏

I loved this story - glad to know Mahakali has a sense of humor, and can also have a Machiavellian streak about her 😈

In short, he will become a VIKATA KAVI - vikata meaning strange, funny, etc and kavi meaning poet

Tenali Raman, ever the optimist, observed that 'VIKATA KAVI' was a palindromic phrase- a phrase that remains the same when read backwards too.
