If they show Vrinda marrying Vishnu in the form of Jalandhar, then how does her chastity get violated? Because it was her chastity that protected her husband's life.

She was married to Jalandhar and remained devoted to him- her devotion casting a protective net around him. To break her chastity, Vishnu had to take the form of Jalandhar and trick her.

If she had married Vishnu (albeit in the guise of Jalandhar) in the first place, where is the question of her devotion (satitva) being maligned?

Well, the very deal about such women was that they were to be singlemindedly devoted to their husbands, and no one else. If they show Vishnu taking the guise of Jalandhar and marrying her, which was not what Vrinda intended - she agreed to marry Jalandhar, not Vishnu, how does her image as a pativrata woman remain intact? In that account, she curses Vishnu and then burns herself to death, since she explicitly rejected that marriage, which was done by trickery.

If Jalandhar was already a derivative of Shiva, he sounds like he was invincible on his own - somewhat like Hanuman. Why would he need a pativrata woman to protect him? Incidentally, the same quality of Vrinda was there in Indrajit's wife, Sulochana, but that didn't prevent her husband from being killed by Lakshman.

All the fundas do make sense in that case why not have their own version of the story and maybe it would all make sense at the end of day and don't have to depict any of the favorites in a bad light. Shakti's depiction right from the start has been blotchy and now they want to make that up by showing a strong characterization of Vrinda which is not very interesting at the moment. More keen to see the resurrection of Adishakti after she finishes the yog

Thanks Vrish for making this post they have made the character more bossy that u don't feel any kind of connect to her. But maybe we are jumping the gun and lets hope this week brings some solid epi's which will build but the characters of Jalandhar and Vrinda in the show. As of not liking it too much.

Er...Vrish- What exactly does 'BS' stand for?

Every time I see the BS in the title, my mind comes up with another expansion... I know, that's not what you would have intended because Minakshi would have clamped down on you...
