Nara Narayana were sages, they were Arjun and krishna in previous birth. All I know is they stayed at badrinath. While one meditated the other fought with a demon(karna in a previous birth) they took it in turns to destroy his 1000 kavaches but with one left the demon ran off to the sun and so Arjun and krishna destroyed the remaining one during the mahabharat with karna dying.

The swaminarayans probably have more information on Nara Narayana
