Parvati cursing Ganga is from another story where she was jealous of Ganga's closeness to Mahadev. I guess the creatives felt they couldn't show that stuff (it would borderline on a love triangle) so they inserted that curse in Skanda's birth narrative.

Cursing the devas and the extra curse on Agni is there in the Shiva Purana and other texts. What the creatives don't realize is that by inserting the Ganga curse from elsewhere they've made the story ridiculous because they've made Parvati issue curse after curse within a very short span of time and that too for the same reason.

The part about Bhumi Devi getting the curse, I don't think they made it up entirely. Seems vaguely familiar but I can't remember any details now. I'll post if I do.

Although in the Shiva Purana, Himavan (i.e. the Himalayas) was also involved in the journey of the "urja" (well it's more explicitly Shiva's seed in the text) It is he who immersed the seed in Ganga.

The wackiest thing about today's episode - Ganga has the Urjapinda and offers it to Mahadev, and the latter doesn't take it? Hello, he's the father! If anything, he should be the first to take it.

Parvati's curses are getting indigestible. Only thing I can understand is her pain @ everybody but her getting to hold the Urjapinda. Also, when did the earth - Bhumi Devi - get involved here? After Ganga came the Sharavana van, and then the Krittikas.

The precap - the Devas dare go there - one curse was not enough? Parvati should release the next curse on the devas after she's presumably done w/ Sharavan and the Krittikas. Maybe Sharavan will be cursed w/ deforestation & global warming, while the Krittikas will be cursed w/... Any idea what could the Krittikas be cursed w/?

Vrish, Mahadev doesnt take it because he said he is not capapble of containing the urjapinda. Only "Prakriti" can do that. Other than Parvati, only Mother Earth is capable of doing it ( Maybe thats why she is called MOTHER earth because of the "Prakriti" tattva in her ) There wasnt enough time for Ganga to take it to Parvati😕 so Mahadev tells her to take the urjapinda to Vindhyachal Parvat.

The best thing abt todays episode was Moharika chemistry. I couldnt clearly make out on you tube but I think Mahadev was in tears towards the end while talking to Parvati. He so calmly explains everything to her and with so much love. Their chemistry is awesome, I mean Moharika's😉

Thanks for the update Minaxi...Dharti mata ka shraap is hard to digest 😔.

I guess parvati ma is very possessive about her kids bcoz in om nama shivaya serial also they showed when ganesh was killed by shiva, parvati in anger told all her shaktis to destroy the universe. this shows that like all mothers ma parvati also concerned about her kids first.

Wah - this was extremely strange. I know that Parvati Ma is very angry but baap re she is giving forth shrap like buy-one-get-one-free at bazaar.

I understand she is worried possessive maa but it makes no sense at all this shrap to Bhoomi Devi, who have done nothing at all. Shivji instructs that she herself is this earth, and in other places we might find that Bhoomi Devi is one wife of Vishnu. So either she is cursing herself or her SIL?😕 And elder sister bhi (Ganga).

I went and looked but could not find anywhere any puranic reference to shrap from Parvati to Dharti Ma. Has any one heard such a story? I am confused as this track is varying a great deal both from Shiv Puran and also Skanda Puran.

Ajeeb hai, lekin entertainment ke liye shayid cv team kuch bhi karega!😊

Thanks for the update Minaxi!

In a way i felt Bad for Parvati-firstly your child is taken away from you,and the next thing is that multiple people are adopting you child without you knowing and without your permit-who wouldn't get angry?
had i been in her place i would have made havoc!
but thats where the sad part comes im no goddess, and shes no human to behave that way!

Parvati is said to have been a very loving, very possessive mother-infact shes even fought against Mahadev for Ganesha, but even earthlings are her children, she shouldn't be reminded of the fact that she is Jagat Jannani by Mahadev for Gods Sake!

They made a joke of Parvati yesterday and made her look like a villain which i didnt like!
cursing Agni even the devtas was understandable-but why Ganga and Dharti?
Ganga says that its Mahadev and Parvatis child-she keeps on saying that, and only decides to love him as a mother-whats wrong in that!?by my Maasi loving me,does my mothers love get redundant, infact Ganga is his Maasi-like a mother so she can love him like one!

They are using Parvati to up the drama quotient but its high time they realize that Parvati Ma in her various forms is ALSO worshiped,Mahadev isnt the only one worshiped!!infact there is a whole sect called "Shaktiism" the followers of Devi Shakti!

they need to improve her character representation asap!-yesterdays episode was the last nail!

Parvati Ma is worshiped by many of us,infact they say(they have said it in DKDM too) that in every woman a part of Devi Shakti lies,so by misreading her, they are actually personally insulting all women...so yeah im personally offended!

Never the less i liked the way Mahadev said that by cursing everyone she was only cursing him and herself-that is what the actual meaning of the tagline was!-she doesnt directly curse Mahadev, she curses him indirectly-not to forget curse herself!🤣
never the less im hoping that they do some damage control after the mayhem Parvati created, some redemption for the character assassination!

Shruti

I did think that Ganga giving him the name Gangaputra was inappropriate, given that she was his maasi. But in the original, she was one of the claimants to that baby from Agni/Vayu. Originally, Parvati took the baby, Agni claimed it, then Ganga, then Sharavana and then the Krittikas. And it was Mahadev who gave the baby all those names, not those 'other parents'.

I don't think Maasi's ever got to name their sister's kids, unless they were co-wives as well. Which is Ganga's case is very arguable.

So are curses to the forest and to the Krittikas to follow tonight?

@Vrish-i that way Ganga did cross a line by naming Skanda Ganga Putra!-but as we all know it was mahadev who gave them the names and kind of setteled the dispute between all the parents!so in that way Ganga naming him as her son was inappropriate!

im guessing by the looks of it Parvati will be the one who will curse the Kritikas to become consolations!

Actually amidst all the curses and counter curses ( I am surprised Parvati has not grabbed Shiva's trishul and shouted 'Avada Kevadra' 😆), the beautiful symbolism behind Kartikeya's birth has been lost. And it is strange, because the serial has not shied away from explaining philosophical meanings at various points. I remember a scene a few months ago - Narada's attempts to 'reform' Shiva, just before his marriage with Parvati. And Mahadev's explanation to Kubera, Vishwakarma and Indra (on the superiority of his lifestyle compared to what they were suggesting) was very well depicted.

So I am surprised the CV's have chosen to show a rather convoluted version of Shiva Purana rather than follow Skanda Purana- which is more enlightening.

As I mentioned somewhere else, the reason Vayu, Agni, Ganga, Shravana and the Krittikas were involved was to show how the five elements in Nature (Space, Air, Fire, Water, Earth) are required to create a being. Even the sequence in which the sparks were handed in important because that was how Creation began in this universe. The Big Bang theory and all that.

Every creation on this planet is a composition of these five elements, including the human body. That's what five of the six sparks represent. The sixth spark represents the Divine Consciousness.

And yes, because each element played its role in the creation of Kartikeya, Mahadev acknowledged their efforts by giving Kartikeya several names - Mahasena (Agni- Vayu) Gangeya (Ganga), Sharavana (Shravan Forest) and Kartikeya (Krittika sisters)

And Oh yes, the five elements worked in perfect synchronization and harmony - not in a random and haphazard manner as is being shown. There was no ill will or jealousy anywhere. In fact the whole Nature came together to create the perfect son of the Ultimate Purusha and Prakriti.

Thanks for the update. Liked both Ganga and Parvati yesterday. Parvati's curse for Ganga was understandable but the other curse even I did not get it.
