Thanks Mythli, perfectly said. In fact the each of the 51 letter of the varnamala is connected to 51 Shakti peethas. One can worship all the Shakti peetha'sin one's own body. Each letter is connected to different body part.
Lord Shivji & Shakti's rahasyas are amazingly great. They have everything in them😊

Thank you!

Are these sutras in any way related to the "Shiva Sutras" or "Maheshwara sutras" we come across in Panini's Ashtaadhyaayi? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shiva_Sutras

If yes, what is the relation?

Thanks again

Yes they are the same. The 2nd section Shaktopaya's important factor is Mantras, which are combination of letters known as Matrika chakra. The power in letters is Matrika Shakti.

Matrika shakti is the power of sound that is the matrix of the cosmos, and manifests as the letters in the alphabet. Matrika is the subtle force behind thought and speech.

Each of these letters in the Sanskrit alphabet can individually be called a matrika, because each is a power in its own right. When we think, the process involved stems directly from the vibration of these matrikas.

Self control (and ultimately liberation) is the reverse of that descent, or rather the cessation of that process its earliest stages. Instead of articulating that vibration, or even thinking the thought that the vibration evokes, one simply feels the vibration fully. Two things then happen: (a) one attains a detachment from the emotional reaction the vibration evokes, and (b) the power behind that vibration forces one to a higher level of consciousness. Since the vibration is only a strong energy, if it is not reacted to but simply absorbed as energy, it will promote the individual to a new level of awareness.

And this is only the beginning. Through a spiritual practice of meditation and mantra, our experience is transformed completely. A spiritual mantra is nothing other than pure, inwardly-directed matrika. Mantra saturates and transforms our consciousness when repeated at the levels of manifestation talked about above.

And all this takes place from sound, from the basic vibration and combination of vibrations interacting with one another. One vibration becomes like a string that has a pitch of a certain frequency and sets up various resonances. Each resonance in turn becomes like another string that sets up further resonances. And from this symphony of creative energy, everything manifests. All things are forms of creative energy, the Shakti, which is never separate from Shiva, the Absolute. Through meditation, we experience Him directly. We penetrate maya and matrika, and reach the eternal mantra, the sound of the union of Shiva and Shakti, the vibration in which all is One. This is liberation.

Forgive my ignorance, but are you saying that each letter in the Shiva Sutra grammar rules corresponds to a sloka? i.e.,
1. a i u ?
2. ? ? k
3. e o ?
4. ai au c
5. ha ya va ra ?
6. la ?
7. a ma ?a ?a na ?
8. jha bha
9. gha ?ha dha ?
10. ja ba ga ?a da s
11. kha pha cha ?ha tha ca ?a ta v
12. ka pa y
13. sa ?a sa ?
14. ha ?

each one of these is a sloka? Is there a good website that maps each akshara above to the particular mantra/sloka? This is very interesting because these sutras are from Panini's Ashtaadhyayi which even today is considered the foremost and first book to lay down rules for grammar and linguistics. I have read research papers on the Shiva Sutra which tie it to contemporary Geometry!!

Regards

Thank you

What Panini heard as Damaru beats 14 times are the one used for Sanskrit Grammer. Using them with Sanskrit Varnamala various words are formed.
The Shiv Sutras given in this post are different.
In early 800's, Vasugupta was living on Mahadeva Mountain in Srinagar-Kashmir. Tradition states that one night Lord Shiva appeared to him in a dream and told him of the whereabouts of a great scripture carved in rock. Upon awakening, Vasugupta rushed to the spot and found seventy seven terse sutras etched in stone, which he named the Shiva-Sutras.Vasugupta expounded the sutras to his followers, and gradually the old and lost philosophy once again spread. On this scriptural foundation arose the school known as Kashmir Shaivism.
These teaching is found in Tantra's spiritual aspect also, explained well in the books of Kaviraj Gopinath.
Matrika in Shaktopaya are nothing but these letters. Matrika arises from the heart, from the inner speech. This world has arisen from the sound-syllables of the Sanskrit alphabet, which are nothing but matrika. Just as it creates the outer world, matrika creates infinite inner worlds. Different feelings arise in the heart, and the individual soul keeps moving among these feelings throughout it's life, experiencing pain and pleasure. Day and night, the matrika shakti creates these things within us. Even when we sleep, it doesn't sleep. It is alive even in the Savikalpa state of samadhi, the samadhi with thought. It dies only when one attains the state of thoughtlessness, Nirvikalpa samadhi.
Shambhavopaya goes beyond Nirvikalapa samadhi. the yogi becomes one with Shiv, realises the Shiv Consciousness, which is a union of Shiv & Shakti. The three upayas or ways guids a person various paths one has to follow. Starting with Anvopaya, leading to Shaktopaya, finally reaching to Shambhavopaya is the journey of a siddha yogi. The Shiv Sutras also mention a way beyond Shambhavopaya that is called Anupaya. In this the yogi without putting much efforts with the grace of God or a master Guru experiences the Supreme Consciousness.
Understanding the coding of these sutras is even I am interested in knowing.

Thank you so much for the detailed reply. It is evident that then that there are two sets of sutras - the Paninian one has 56 aksharas, and there are 77 verses in Vasugupta's set. I have not found any source on the web which links the two, will keep looking.

It is very curious, because both are attributed to Shiva as the root source. In fact, some people call Panini an avatar of Shiva.

Thanks again, it is a pleasure to read your posts and explanations.
