I chanced to watch some of the episode today. But unfortunately, (or fortunately) with a horde of kids. I couldn't watch it in peace as they kept flipping channels and when I finally persuaded them to watch this series, they kept commenting on it frequently. I couldn't stop laughing till the end.
The youngest of them all is used to listening to stories with a moral in the end. She asked what the moral was for Markandeya's story. The one next to her replied "Yamraj went back home with a shorter noose."
Another kid said Yamraj reminded him of the doctor who gives him vaccines. He talks the same way before injecting the syringe into him it seems...
Another one wanted to know why Yamraj was wearing a crown with an M in the front. "It should have been Y, shouldn't it?"
Three of them wanted to know what was so funny as I was giggling the whole time thanks to their comments.
Mena's rants are becoming really irritating. She can follow her own culture but Lord Shiva was the one who saved her husband, daughter and herself earlier and now has saved her youngest daughter too. In spite of all that if Mena is still against Shiva, its hard to accept it as motherly love. She does have some valid points but the reasons for which she uses them seems off the mark.
Why did Parvati have to pray to Lord Shiva to save her? She was able to handle Bahrupa on her own...
Besides, Rishi Dadichi's ashram was shown differently earlier when Sati first found the place and when they welcomed Shiva and Sati after their wedding. And where is Swarcha? More than Rishis Dadichi and Markandeya, Swarcha is more likely to take care of Parvati.
Yamraj was nice but his jewels were slightly weird. The kid who plays the kid Markandeya looks very familiar - a lot like the guy who played Harishchandra's son in Mahima Shani Dev Ki.
The storyline is losing the last bits of logic. I hope they don't make it too big a mess. I wish they can stick to the original story. I had really wanted to watch Parvati grow up as a princess in the Himalaya. It would be good if they show other stories on Lord Shiva as well. Everyone playing the matchmaker is becoming tiresome.
