@Sub-Rosa-established actors actually run away from Mythos beacuse they fear of getting typecast,Mouni and Mohit were very brave to take the risk...
I guess how she will look as Parvati will also depend on how they style her-i guess shell get long flowy clothes like Maina and Ganga...lets see, theres still time for her entry, she has lots of time to work on her stuff!
That might have been a problem w/ the previous generation of mytho actors - Arun Govil, Nitish Bharadwaj, Deepika Chikaliya, Arvind Trivedi, et al. Since during that time, there was only one channel - DD which essentially had a captive audience in the 80s, these people were publicly recognized by their screen roles, and locked into mythos.
That's hardly the case w/ today's actors, since even mytho shows have to struggle for TRPs against even the saas-bahu shows. From the AS Ramayan, most of the lead characters have made successful transitions out of that show into non-mytho roles. Gurmeet is now on his third serial since the Ramayan (counting PP&W), Debina played a number of roles both mytho and non-mytho, Ankit Arora played roles in Jyoti, BBGC and most recently CGM, and Lalit Negi (Shatrughan) in CGM. Jaya Ojha (Mandodari) played roles in SSK and is now in Saubhagyavati Bhava, while some of the other actors remained w/ Sagar Arts and played roles in other Sagar serials.
Incidentally, in that serial, Amit Pachori, who played Mahadev, played a number of other roles subsequently, such as Tantia Tope in Jhansi ki Rani, Duryodhan in DBSK, and a few other non mytho serials. He too very much looked the part of Shiva, just like Mohit does. If he could make the transition, I doubt that Mohit will ever have any such issues.
That is for AS Ramayan, which was a TRP leader, and yet, actors seemingly had no problems transitioning. For lesser successful serials like the Hanuman or Krishna based ones, since the name recognition is just not there, the transition should be even easier. Given the way DBSK bombed, I doubt that Vishal Karwal will be typecast only in mythos, although if he is, I can't see him become anybody other than Krishna.
Since the Ramayan, DkDM has been the only major mytho that has had any major success. JSK was popular, but not nearly as much, while Mahavir Hanuman, JJJB and DBSK have bombed. Mahima Shani Dev ki did fairly well, but it was episodic, except for the guys who played Shani (Daya Shankar Pandey) as well as the devas.
So I doubt that Mohit, Mouni, Sonarika or anyone else will have any problems being typecast in their roles. It was more of a problem in the 80s, but not today, where their chances of being famous ain't even all that high.
