You're from Darjeeling? I studied there in Class 4 & 5. You are right - although it's a part of WB, its people are not Bongs - if you live there, the only languages that work are Nepali and Hindi, but not Bengali. Yeah, I was curious about whether the Darj Nepalis celebrate it or not, and as per your account, they not only celebrate it differently from the Bongs, but also from the Nepalese Nepalis as well.

ya m from Darjeeling u wer in which school in Darjeeling? and ya we are culturally and linguistically different from Bengalis that's the reason why we differ in the style of celebration however i personally would love to visit kolkata during Durga Puja if Ma grants me the wish for in the hills the puja lacks the warmth and grandeur of the plains...more than a celebration for us it is a strict religious ritual not that i mind but i am totally fascinated by the beautiful articles about Durga Puja in kolkata...and ya although we look the same as Nepalese from Nepal as i already said we are slightly different however what does that matter at the end of the day we are all the same right? flesh and blood eager to spread love and peace😊

This show has had such a large impact on me. I cannot stop thinking about it even in my dreams. I wouldn't call it an addiction, because I feel as if it is something more.

I cried SO much while watching and afterwards the episodes when Sati Mata ignites herself and Mahadev's EXTREME love towards her- his miserable state.
Then when she comes to him and assures him that she will return to him.

Before this show, I had never known how amazing and divine the story of Shiv-AdiShakti is.

I strongly believe that one huge reason for the enchanting aspect of this show is Mohit-Mouni. I won't call it chemistry, since I know many of us don't like that term to describe a religious couple. However, the way they look together is truly magical. Their characterization of AdiShakti-Shiv is just flawless.

Many people think that Parvati and Sati had different personalities, but they were in fact the same soul and they had one thing in common which matters the most- they were the mother of this earth and loved Shiv with all their heart- Shiv loved them with all their heart.

When in fact, they have already shown AdiShakti played by Mouni, I don't think it is right for them to replace her with Sonarika.
I don't want to judge her before watching her, but I honestly don't want to watch her!

I am NOT trying to be disrespectful, but I believe that showing two different people as Sati-Parvati, when infact they were the same person in two different incarnations, will imply that they were two different people who Shivji fell in love with.

Mouni has already proved herself by her outstanding portration of Sati. Her emotions, her innocent face, her powerful AdiShakti-- she has everything to play Parvati also.

The thought of Sonarika playing Parvati is literally making me sick- I feel like I am going to throw up and I feel dizzy. This by NO means is toward Sonarika, because Im sure that if she had played Sati, then I would have wanted her to play Parvati also.

It's just the magic of this show- I cannot bear to see it be ruined, since I don't think I can stop watching it now.

One thing that struck me - Mahadev is said to have given Rishi Agastya all the grammatical ingredients and everything needed for Tamil. Wouldn't he have needed to do the same thing for Nepali, which is right there in his neck of the woods❓

but sati and parvati are different people...from what i was told by my grandfather, coming back in with the same look as sati would have destroyed the entire point of her giving up her life...the same face would be a reminder of her being daksh's daughter, and the entire point of sati burning herself was because she did not want to be associated in any ways or forms to daksh...

and parvati and sati have the same soul...and there is question as to whether they were similar in every way, but it is widely accepted that they looked nothing like each other...

i can understand your apprehension about sonarika...but lets c...mouni was not someone who i thought could do a very good job, but she turned out to be decent enough (i am the minority who wasn't all that impressed...maybe i've been spoilt by the stellar acting in our older historical dramas)...so lets see how well and differently sonarika can play parvati...

i think the challenge here will be to play a person who is different from sati but shares certain key similarities with her...

Is there still any hope to have Mouni as Parvati Maa?
Maybe Sonarika is playing Parvati at a younger age...??

I really cannot stand the thought of having anyone but Mouni as Parvati😭
